Ultimate Spin System: Ero Spin?

Chapter 3: Chapter 03 - Rainbow

Lucas and the Rainbow Punishment

Lucas was still sitting in his chair, trying to process everything he had just experienced. But before he could even catch his breath, a holographic screen popped up in front of him, making him jump.

[DING! New Task Activated]

Lucas let out an exasperated sigh. "Another Task already? What now?"

A new window opened, displaying the mission details.

---

[ Task : Be a Daylight Hero ]

Description: Find and help someone without expecting any direct reward.

Reward: 200 XP, 1 Spin Token.

Penalty for Failure: Your hair will turn rainbow-colored for 7 days.

Time Limit: 6 Hours

---

Lucas read the details twice, then let out a disbelieving laugh. "Seriously? Rainbow hair? Is this a Task or a joke?"

The system's calm voice replied, completely unbothered by Lucas's annoyance.

[ Penalties are an integral part of the system to ensure you remain motivated to complete your Task s. ]

Lucas scoffed. "Why my hair? And why rainbow? That'll make me the laughingstock of my entire apartment building!"

[ The penalty is designed to have psychological and social impact, encouraging the Host to take their Task s more seriously. ]

Lucas let out a long sigh. "Fine, fine. So I have to 'help someone' within 6 hours, no strings attached. But who? And how am I supposed to know who needs help?"

[ Choosing your target is up to your discretion. The system will verify your actions once the Task is completed. Additional hint: Focus on the needs around you. ]

Lucas got up and started pacing around his small apartment. "This feels like... a forced tutorial mission, huh? Fine. I'm not letting my hair turn into unicorn cosplay."

He threw on his worn-out jacket and stepped out of the apartment, determined to find someone he could help.

---

Lucas walked out of his apartment with a clear goal: complete the ridiculous Task before the 6-hour time limit was up. But there was one big problem—he lived in Brightville, a small city known throughout Redwood State as one of the safest places around.

As he strolled down the spotless sidewalks, Lucas kept looking for something—anything—that might need his help. An old person struggling to cross the street? Nope. A kid crying over a lost balloon? Not happening. Even the street musicians seemed to be on break today.

"Seriously, is this a city or heaven?" he muttered as he scanned his surroundings. Brightville was unnervingly perfect—clean sidewalks, well-manicured parks, and people all minding their own business like they didn't have a care in the world.

Frustrated, he headed toward downtown, hoping the busier area would give him a better shot. But no luck. Kids were playing happily in the park, dogs were obediently walking alongside their owners, and even the shopkeepers were smiling cheerfully as they greeted customers.

Lucas stopped at a bench in the park, staring up at the sky. "This doesn't make sense. How am I supposed to help someone when this town is way too... nice?"

---

[ Time Remaining: 3 hours 15 minutes ]

---

The system's notification flashed in front of his eyes, sparking a wave of panic.

"Damn it. I need to find something—anything!"

He started walking faster, scanning every corner and alley for a chance to help. At one point, he spotted a guy carrying a big cardboard box, and for a moment, Lucas thought about offering to help. But before he could even move, the guy effortlessly loaded the box into his car and drove off.

Lucas let out a frustrated sigh. "Come on, Brightville! At least give me a tiny robbery or something!"

But the city remained calm, oblivious to his desperate pleas.

---

[ Time Remaining: 5 minutes ]

---

Lucas trudged back to his apartment, defeated, staring at the ground like a kid who'd just gotten scolded. "Alright, system, I give up. There's no one to help here. Is the rainbow punishment really happening?"

The system's voice chimed in as soon as he closed the door.

[ Task Failed. Penalty Applied: Host's hair will remain rainbow-colored for 7 days. Enjoy the results of your effort. ]

Lucas looked at his reflection in the mirror hanging on the wall. His once-black hair was now a bright gradient of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Not only that, but it shimmered like a hologram under the light.

"Oh my god..." Lucas muttered, touching his hair. "I look like a clown who flunked an audition."

Right on cue, the system's voice chimed in again, almost mocking him.

[ Lesson for the Host: Never let a Task go unfinished without making a real effort. A safe city is no excuse for a lack of creativity. ]

"Creativity? I almost considered telling you to stage a fake emergency! Should I have pretended to be a thief just so I could help myself?"

[ That approach is against the system's moral guidelines. However, your feedback has been noted. ]

Lucas sighed and flopped onto his couch. "Man, this is only my first day with this system. Am I going to be tortured like this the whole time?"

The system responded in its usual monotone:

[ That depends on your future performance, Host. Good luck. ]

---

Lucas walked back to his apartment with sluggish steps, his rainbow-colored hair catching everyone's attention under the afternoon sun. He felt like a walking billboard for bad decisions.

On the way, he passed a small playground where a group of kids were laughing and playing on the swings and slides. Their attention immediately turned to Lucas as soon as he walked by.

A wide-eyed boy tugged on his mom's sleeve, pointing excitedly at Lucas. "Mom! That guy's hair looks like a rainbow! So pretty!"

Lucas stopped for a second and turned slightly, offering a crooked smile. But before he could say anything, the boy's mom leaned down and scolded him in a low, firm voice.

"Don't point at him. That's a weird man," she said, pulling the boy closer. She glanced at Lucas with a wary expression, as if he were some kind of unpredictable oddball.

Lucas let out a weary sigh and kept walking. Under his breath, he muttered sarcastically, "Yeah, kid, rainbows are beautiful… but that was before they became a joke."

He caught a glimpse of himself in a shop window, his multi-colored hair still shimmering like neon lights. Picking up his pace, Lucas headed straight for his apartment. He'd had enough humiliation for one day, and he could only imagine how much worse the next Task would be.
