Chapter 617: It's Actually You Again
The man with the slicked-back hair had a flippant air about him; though there were two security guards from the hotel standing not far away, it was as if the young man didn't even see them.
"This is a hotel, after all, so special services are definitely a part of the deal. Just name your price if you're willing to accompany me—money is no object for Young Master Jiang."
"I'm sorry... I'm just a front desk clerk, I don't... provide those services," the tearful-eyed clerk stammered.
She was clearly young, looking no more than a university freshman or sophomore. Likely working part-time to pay her way through school, she had little social experience and was at a loss as to how to handle the harassment by the brash young man.
As the young woman tried to break away from the brash man, he pivoted, blocking her path.
She nearly collided with the man's chest.
"What... what are you trying to do? Let me go!" The fear was evident in the clerk's eyes, glistening with tears.
"It's just a little favor, consensual fun. Nowadays everyone's clear about what's what. Why put on airs? Tell you what, I'll give you ten thousand yuan just to keep me company," said the brash man, his lips curled into a smug smile, eyes narrowed to slits. "Young lady, you must realize that even B-list actresses don't make more than thirty or fifty thousand a night. Your price is already very high."
"Young Master Jiang... this little sister doesn't do that sort of thing. Please, let her be," intervened a middle-aged woman who appeared to be a supervising clerk.
The middle-aged woman wore a practiced smile.
But the brash man showed her no face at all. "Get lost!"
Though he uttered just two words, the middle-aged woman recoiled, intimidated by his aggression.
"There's never been anyone Young Master Jiang couldn't handle," he gloated before reaching out to grab the young woman.
She screamed in shock, having not expected him to make a physical advance, and quickly stepped back.
She narrowly avoided his grasp, but he showed no sign of relenting.
"Stop playing the virgin card. How many women act all pure before going to bed, only to be unsatisfied afterwards? Fuck!" he cursed, moving closer to her again.
Just as the brash man was about to grab the woman, his body suddenly felt light.
Startled, he soon found himself hoisted into the air and then thrown heavily onto the floor.
Everyone present was stunned.
After all, Young Master Jiang had considerable influence. If that weren't the case, the hotel's security wouldn't dare not intervene.
The young woman looked on, equally shocked, having not expected anyone to come to her defense. Her gaze turned to the man who intervened; a striking young man who stood before her, his presence transcending the ordinary.
For a moment, she was entranced by the profile of the man before her.
The man who had thrown Young Master Jiang aside was none other than Cheng Bufan.
Why had Cheng Bufan intervened to save the young woman? The reason was simple: seeing her being bullied reminded him of the panicked face of his junior sister when Jin Minchong had barged into her room.
Cheng Bufan and his junior sister had grown up together, virtually inseparable. Now that they were in different places, seeing another woman in distress, he felt compelled to step in.
"Who the fuck... Who the hell are you?" The brash man climbed up from the floor, fury written all over his face as he stared at Cheng Bufan.
"Get lost!" Cheng Bufan hissed coldly at the brash man.
The brash man sneered. "Kid, seems like you don't know who I am. If you knew, I could scare the piss out of you!"
"Actually, I'm quite curious to learn just what sort of 'big shot' you really are," Ding Fan said, now joining the fray.
A mere young thug, how could he scare Ding Fan or Cheng Bufan?
The brash man snorted. "My father is the Vice Mayor of Yungang! Fuck, if you mess with me, do you think you can even leave Yungang alive?"
Cheng Bufan's brow furrowed slightly. "If you don't want to die, you'd better get lost now!"
The young thug was taken aback, evidently surprised that Ding Fan and Cheng Bufan were not intimidated even after knowing his background.
"Fine! Fine then! You guys, beat these two idiots into meat buns. The worse you beat them, the more I'll reward you," he ordered the two nearby security guards.
The guards exchanged glances before heading towards Ding Fan and Cheng Bufan.
"Please, just leave us alone..."
As the security guards approached Ding Fan and Cheng Bufan, the earlier harassed clerk stepped forward and pleaded tearfully with the young thug.
"Let you go?" The brash man huffed. "It's not that simple now. These two assholes dared to touch me; messing with me in Yungang City isn't so easily settled. I won't let them leave today without skinning them alive!"
The guards reached the young woman, ready to pull her aside.
But just as they were about to grab her, Ding Fan stepped forward. With that single step, he extended both hands.
The guards hadn't realized what happened when Ding Fan suddenly exerted force.
To their shock, they found themselves lifted like chicks by Ding Fan.
Then, with a powerful motion, Ding Fan tossed the guards away from him.
Bang, bang... Two dull thuds.
The two guards crashed against the opposite wall and fell to the ground, bleeding and moaning, crouched and not daring to move.
"What's going on here?" At that moment, the hotel's main door swung open.
Two men, flanked by four younger ones, entered from outside the hotel.
Chi Lei, the speaker, was someone Ding Fan and the others recognized; he was none other than Chi Jianjun's son, whom they had encountered the night before on the street.
Indeed, the world was smaller than they thought.
As Ding Fan recognized the newcomers, Chi Lei seemed to recognize Ding Fan as well.
"It's you again!"
