The Villainess VTuber Tears People Apart

Chapter 46 - The Third-Floor Room Is Uncomfortable

I stepped out of the VR capsule, turned on my PC, and logged into Minecraft.

I really wanted to play Labyrinthos, but I decided to take a break from it for now.

First of all, I should only play Gate Assault Mode during streams.

So, the only mode I can play when I’m not streaming is Duel Mode. But, to be honest, even Duel Mode has its content limitations.

“I did hit Diamond rank in Duel Mode not too long ago.”

Above Diamond rank is the Master rank.

Ranks below Diamond are divided based on rank points, such as Diamond 1, Diamond 2, and Diamond 3.

However, from Master rank onward, the rankings are determined by position.

If you’re within the top 2,000 players on the Korean server, you’re a Grandmaster.

If you’re in the top 500 on the Korean server, you’re a Dominator.

“Duel Mode should be much easier to hit Dominator rank than Gate Assault.”

That’s because most players take Gate Assault Mode more seriously.

Thinking about it like that, I realized there isn’t much content left to grind in Duel Mode. If I take it seriously, I’ll probably hit Dominator soon.

Once I reach Dominator, I’ll likely lose interest quickly, so I thought I should savor it a bit before that happens.

【Aurora has logged into the server.】

Looking around, the scenery of the server was quite different from what I remembered.

The tall mountain had been cut down to about half its original height. However, it wasn’t completely leveled.

It couldn’t be helped. It would take an entire day to get rid of such a tall mountain. Using a mere iron pickaxe would take forever.

So, it seemed like someone had given up on leveling the mountain and just cut off the lower half.

It looked like someone had taken a bite out of an apple, leaving a huge open space.

A large mansion had been built in that space.

“Sora isn’t around.”

Even though I logged in, I couldn’t see Sora. She was probably working somewhere else.

I decided to take a tour of the mansion alone for now.

The mansion had a rather quaint feel. It was primarily made of wood and brick.

Since it was still early in the game, materials should be scarce, but I thought it was impressive to build something of this quality with limited resources.

When I opened the door, there was a large lobby. As I walked further in, I found the living room, and deeper inside was the kitchen.

The basement seemed to be used as a storage room, and the second floor had various workspaces like an enchantment room. The interior of the mansion was built with meticulous detail.

When I went up to the third floor, I saw familiar names.

【Laura】

【Sora】

【Inagika】

【Chel】

There were only four doors on the third floor, and each door had the name of one of us, the sixth generation members.

I opened the door with my name on it.

The first thing I saw was a sofa and a table. By the window, there was an office bookshelf, and there seemed to be a separate bedroom.

When I opened the bedroom door, I saw a bed. It was a luxurious-looking bed with curtains.

There was a famous painting on the wall, and a chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

“They really made this look impressive.”

However, the chandelier didn’t seem finished. Only the frame was built, and the essential light source wasn’t properly installed.

It felt like they had installed torches, which are an early-game light source. To complete a proper chandelier, they would need a Void Rod, which can only be obtained in the late game.

In any case, the room gave off a very aristocratic vibe.

“This must be my room.”

As an experiment, I checked out the other rooms on the third floor.

None of the rooms had the exact same interior as mine, but every room had a lived-in feel.

It seemed that the third floor was the living quarters for us, the sixth-generation members.

“They did a good job.”

I was secretly impressed. I couldn’t make something like this myself.

To be precise, I could make it if I wanted to.

When I lived with the Ducal Family, I had to learn all kinds of arts and etiquette. I had to understand why something was considered beautiful.

So, I learned art and music.

I even understood why famous paintings were called masterpieces. If I didn’t know those things, I would be looked down upon for lacking refinement.

So, my aesthetic sense was second to none, but I generally have no desire to create something myself.

A noble lady doesn’t build houses herself.

Moreover, in my view, housing falls under the category of self-satisfaction. It doesn’t grant experience points or rewards, nor does it help your character grow.

So, when I played Minecraft Hardcore Mode in the past, all I did was fight and adventure. Once I defeated all the dungeons and bosses, I ran out of things to do and stopped playing.

“But I’m probably the minority.”

There are probably people who play Minecraft to build houses, but not many people would start Minecraft with the goal of devouring all the end-game content like me.

In that sense, people like Sora would be the majority in this game.

Her gameplay style was the complete opposite of mine.

It kind of felt like playing house.

But still, having someone to take care of the things I don’t do makes the game a lot easier.

“But isn’t having a room on the third floor inconvenient? It seems too far from the first floor.”

“…I couldn’t help it.”

An answer came in response to my muttered complaint.

I turned around to find Sora’s avatar standing there.

“After we built the second floor, I realized we forgot to make rooms for us.”

“Oh, I see. That can’t be helped then.”

“You could’ve at least told me you were here.”

Sora sighed heavily.

“You said you were opening a Nether Portal, right? I have something for you, so follow me for a bit.”

– These are top-tier items LOL

ㄴ But no Netherite, so not quite top-tier.

ㄴ Even without Netherite, they’re still top-tier.

– She didn’t give them; she’s lending them.

– Sora’s been playing a lot of Minecraft recently. Was she making all that stuff?

– She made all that just to give to Laura?

– Of course, Sora and Laura are the OTP.

“Look at the lighting. It’s all torches, so it’s not pretty at all.”

Sora grumbled as she walked ahead.

“This game has too few light sources.”

“That’s just how Minecraft is. At this stage, the only lights we can use are torches, candles, and lamps.”

“I tried making candles, but they’re too dim. Lamps don’t go well with chandeliers.”

“If you’re making a chandelier, a Void Rod would fit, but you can only get that in the late game.”

“A Void Rod? Wait a second, let me jot that down.”

Sora stopped walking.

“You said Void Rod, right? Got it. So, how do I make a Beacon?”

“First, you have to open a Nether Portal.”

I replied.

A Nether Portal is a structure used to travel to a place called the Nether, a completely different dimension from where we currently are.

The Nether is filled with lava and high-level monsters, making it a very dangerous place.

“Lava… I really hate that.”

Sora said in a horrified voice after hearing my explanation. It seemed she had previously fallen into lava and lost all her items.

Beginners in Minecraft often struggle with lava. So, they tend to find the Nether intimidating as well.

But, as challenging as it is, the Nether is also a place filled with rewards. You can find rare items and unlock new systems like potion brewing.

However, for a beginner like Sora, that was still a distant future.

Our sixth-generation group was progressing through Minecraft at Sora’s pace.

If we showed her too many new things too quickly, she might lose interest in the game.

“But fetching a Beacon shouldn’t be too overwhelming.”

A Beacon is technically an end-game item, but it only slightly increases work speed at the base. It shouldn’t be a problem to bring one for her.

Opening the Nether Portal itself wasn’t difficult.

Using the diamond pickaxe Sora gave me, I mined some obsidian and opened the Nether Portal.

After entering the Nether and defeating a few monsters, I quickly gathered the necessary materials.

“Oh? Didn’t the room change locations?”

When I returned with the materials, I noticed that my room, which was on the third floor earlier, had been moved to the second floor.

I found it strange and asked, and Sora’s avatar tilted her head in confusion.

“? You said you didn’t like how far your room was.”

…?

I had said it was inconvenient, but I don’t think I ever said I didn’t like it…?

While I was puzzled, Sora shrugged.

“Ever since we first met, I’ve been thinking you’re a real handful.”
