Chapter 9: Chapter 9: The Timed Mission
"Rain Rou, do I need to pay your entire year's salary in one go, or can I do it monthly?" asked Shang Yunyan.
"Either works, young master. It's entirely up to you. But the payment isn't made directly to me; we have a designated account for team salaries. Once funds are deposited, Finance Manager Zhang will handle distributing the payments. It's recommended that you set up a separate account for villa operations as well—it's more convenient that way," Rain Rou explained.
"Alright, give me Zhang Jie's account details. I'll pay for the whole year upfront. I don't want to risk forgetting it one month if I'm away from Shenhua."
"Understood, young master. I'll fetch Zhang Jie right away." Rain Rou left to find Zhang Jie.
As Shang Yunyan waited, he contemplated his plans for the next day. The inclusion of bodyguards, a secretary, and a finance manager in his team was undeniably advantageous.
"Young master, here is our account card. I can assist with the transfer; you just need to input your password," Zhang Liping said, handing over the account card.
Shang Yunyan opened his mobile banking app, completed the transfer of 10 million yuan, and then, on a whim, added an additional 5 million.
"Young master, what's the extra amount for?" Zhang Liping and Rain Rou asked, puzzled.
"I thought about it and decided not to bother setting up a separate financial account for the villa. It seems unnecessary and would result in my phone constantly buzzing with notifications. It's easier if you handle everything through your account. Sorry to trouble you, Zhang Jie."
"This is my responsibility, young master. It's not a problem at all," Zhang Liping replied, her tone calm and professional as always. Shang Yunyan couldn't help but notice her serious demeanor, which seemed unshakable, likely a byproduct of her financial background.
"Young master, if there's anything you need us to handle soon, please let me know. I'll take notes and assign tasks accordingly," Rain Rou said, pulling out her notebook.
"Alright, a few things. First, have you all eaten? I haven't, and I'm starving. Let's grab some dinner together."
"Ah… yes, we'll do that as soon as you finish assigning tasks. I checked the fridge earlier—it's completely empty. It was only plugged in today. Starting tomorrow, the chefs will handle meal preparations."
"Got it. Second, tomorrow at 1 p.m., a car will be delivered here. The driver will need to familiarize himself with it. Third, at around 2 p.m., I'll need the bodyguards, Secretary Xue'er, and Zhang Jie to accompany me to the company. I recently acquired a small investment firm, and we'll be visiting it to assess the situation."
"No problem, young master."
"Lastly, please purchase a few quality suits for me tomorrow morning—something suitable for emergencies. Also, buy a few vehicles for group use, preferably spacious ones for convenience. I'll leave the specifics to you."
"Yes, young master. I'll ensure everything is taken care of by tomorrow morning."
"Great! Let's head out for dinner!"
The team followed Shang Yunyan out of the villa. They chose a nearby restaurant and had a hearty meal, treating it as a celebratory gathering. Afterward, they took a group photo in front of the villa. Shang Yunyan uploaded it to his social media, captioning it: "Looking forward to working with everyone!" He ensured the post was hidden from family members, targeting only his former colleagues, ex-girlfriend, and classmates.
However, after a brief flurry of likes, the post garnered little engagement. Shang Yunyan wasn't disheartened. His good days were only beginning. Once the company stabilized, he planned to bring his parents to Shenhua for a better life and gradually involve other relatives in his plans, honoring his grandfather's wishes.
That night, lying on his enormous bed, Shang Yunyan found himself too excited to sleep. The thrill of his new life and the grandeur of his surroundings left him restless.
"Host, you better get some sleep. Are you planning to show up tomorrow with dark circles under your eyes to flaunt at your former company?" the system's voice chimed in.
"I'm not flaunting. I'm taking over the company—it's mine now."
"Ding! New timed mission: publicly humiliate Ma Yongsheng and Yan Yongqing tomorrow. Successfully completing this mission will grant you a lottery ticket!"
"...A timed mission? What's that?"
"Exactly what it sounds like. The system may issue timed missions at any moment."
"Understood. By the way, I have a question. I received 1 billion yuan today. Can I deposit it into the Omni Field to double it?"
"No. Cash provided by the system cannot be placed in the Omni Field for doubling. Only funds earned through your own efforts qualify. Moreover, as the system upgrades, the Omni Field's capacity will expand. It will eventually support the duplication of rare herbs, medicines, and even endangered animals."
"Whoa, that's incredible!" Shang Yunyan exclaimed, a mischievous grin spreading across his face as his gaze shifted downward.
"Host, get your mind out of the gutter! I know exactly what you're thinking. Don't make me turn you into a eunuch!"
"Hey, you said it could double—"
"You pervert! What you have is sufficient! Besides, what are you planning to do? Go to sleep already! The system is entering rest mode. Ding! Good night."
"System, you're just as nosy. You even spy on me! Aren't you supposed to be the most advanced system? How can you need rest?"
The system didn't respond. Shang Yunyan rolled over, humming a tune as he slowly drifted off to sleep.
