Chapter 2865 The Family's Perilous Fate
Chapter 2865 The Family's Perilous Fate
"So, this is the place?" Minos asked as he received the map of Forfex's soul fragment, a place he readily identified as being on the other side of this world from their current position.
"Yes, my main self was a bit cautious with that choice." The soul fragment laughed as it looked at Minos. "There was a possibility that some enemy might find what I left behind, so our research couldn't be here."
"That's not a problem..." Minos smiled as he showed one of his hands to the soul fragment. "But are you sure it's really alive?" He asked as he returned to the previous subject.
"Yes, of course." The soul fragment gradually becoming transparent, preparing to disappear, stated without doubt in its voice. "I don't know where, or how, but my main self is fine."
"That's good enough for me. Minos shook the soul fragment's hand before thanking him one last time. "Thank you for your help and this inheritance. It can help me a lot. Don't worry about your people. I'll help them so that when you manage to return, they can welcome you back stronger than now."
"That's good to hear," said the disappearing spiritual fragment, with half of its body already transformed into glowing mist..
"Good luck on your journey. If fate favors us, we'll see each other again." Minos said his last words to that individual, finally seeing the fragment disappear, making the whole surrounding area lose some of its brightness.
Forfex was a friend, and he was really curious to see what fate would befall this guy. Unfortunately, he didn't have time to look and was in a hurry. As soon as the soul fragment disappeared without a trace, Minos became more serious.
"Let's get going. We'll still have to travel for a few months before we reach what he left behind." He said to his women, taking the lead to leave the area of Forfex's inheritance. "Will it give us time to reach this new place and accomplish what we must?" Ruth asked with concern. "We've already been traveling for several months. One of the winners from that last Level 128 thing is going to come after us any minute."
"I feel we have no choice," Minos said as he moved ahead of the group, heading out of this underground area, now carrying a few more items with him. Forfex's secret laboratory had some items that Minos had made a point of collecting to deliver to this guy's people.
He continued, his words as heavy as the gravity surrounding them, "What I can tell you now is that we're going to have to accomplish everything at the critical limit of our possibilities. If we escape the pursuit of one of those three, it will be a very short time before we find ourselves in a situation like that with Qhava again.
Be prepared. If we escape, it will be by a critical move that for a few seconds would have resulted in failure, but which will be our victory."
The three silently accepted his prediction, each of them feeling under pressure. Their journeys so far had been difficult. They had fought so many wars and conflicts that would almost have killed them that they couldn't remember the exact number of times they had been in that position. But now it was all worse. They were already so high on the cultivation scale and so close to realizing their cultivation purpose that everything seemed ten times worse.
Minos already had an Absolute grade in his Physique and the three of them were hoping to get there one day. Even so, at any moment they could be prevented from continuing and killed by one of the level 128 Devils who had promised to kill them.
That wasn't all. Even if Minos advanced to level 125, they still wouldn't be far from trouble. When he went to make his progress, he would once again be inaccessible. Could they deal with the threat of the Devils during the time he was unavailable?
Many doubts were in their minds, making them more silent and worried. But the way forward was clear. They had to get Forfex's inheritance and try to seize the opportunity that Minos had said would arise in Hell soon. With these two actions, there was a chance that they would succeed!
"Well, even if we manage to escape them for the time being, what do we do with Zocarro?" Abby asked after they left the underground area and started traveling along the local surface, heading in the direction indicated by the soul fragment. Minos sighed at the problem Abby had raised. Removing their Hell crowns would really keep their enemies at bay. But Qhava knew that they had something to do with Zocarro. It wouldn't be difficult for one of the enemies to trace them back to their relatives.
"Let's sort this out and get back to Zocarro urgently," Minos said to the three of them. "I'll find a place that only I would know that I could go to and leave the entire core of the family there during my promotion to the next stage. Even if the enemies eventually find you, we'll have had some time for me to do my duty and for you to get stronger."
They understood, figuring there was no other alternative.
"And what will happen to the Hell Lifelings and Mylecent when we remove our crowns?" Gloria asked as she pointed to Abby, who was responsible for most of the Hell Lifelings and the promotion of Mylecent. Everyone there was already aware of the advance of that white-haired necromancer. They had had time to talk about it and
various other things in the time between their last trips.
Abby replied, "Mylecent will still have her crown. The difference is that she will become independent of me and her territories will be hers alone. In a way, that will be the way for her to become a Devil in the future.
As for the Hell Lifelings, they will continue with their lives. My powers should weaken and I should become unable to create as many Hell Lifelings in the future again, but I'll still be able to use many of the abilities that the crown has allowed me. That goes for you, too."
Minos already knew this and said, "Absolute grade absorbable weapons are incredible. Even if we lose them, our strength will hardly change."
"Others just don't consider it enough to be common knowledge because the loss of such a weapon is the death of that being," Abby complemented her husband. "Anyway, don't worry about our forces or my future absence. There's still a lot to happen before then!" Minos said, disappearing into the forest along with them, leaving that place of Forfex so quickly that few would notice his mere passage through.
