Chapter 2863 Am I Dead?
Chapter 2863 Am I Dead?
Minos and his women had entered the home planet of Forfex, a world of the same level of strength as Zocarro, from what they had investigated even before their entry into the local atmosphere. But even if they hadn't sought out this information beforehand, they would have realized it as soon as they arrived in this world.
Most of the strongest people in this world were Sovereigns, with a small society of Supremes dominating the planet and, as far as they knew or could sense, there were no Celestials there. But they didn't overestimate their ability to understand a place they had barely investigated and begun to explore. They didn't rule out the possibility of there being Celestials there, as there had been in Zocarro.
As they didn't want any problems with local forces, they weren't worried. As soon as they reached the surface, they moved towards the location of Forfex's soul fragment. Minos' old ally in the two previous phases of Devdar's inheritance had left a map of the location of where he left his soul fragment. There were a few riddles that only someone who knew him could solve to get the clues needed to reach the exact spot, but that wasn't a problem for Minos.
In a way, Minos had spent more time with Forfex than with his children. Consequently, he knew this former ally very well.
Forfex had imagined that if Minos ever came to his planet, then Minos would already be close to completing Devdar's inheritance. As such, he had drawn up a route so that his old ally wouldn't have to worry about wasting time passing through problematic territories or cities.
Forfex didn't think that Minos would fail to deal with local problems. But a man close to reaching the High Kingdom wouldn't want to waste his time on the mundane problems of the forces on this planet. Forfex himself hated politics and the
complications of fighting the ambitious natives of his world, who were always looking to push their tentacles further to strengthen themselves.
The path he assigned Minos' group to follow was a long one, however. Even at the level they were at and their ability to move, it would take the group at least a few weeks to travel, even without stopping.
It was precisely in the meantime that they gained a better understanding of the reality of this world, as they prepared themselves for the pursuit of their Hellish enemies.
Minos had almost forgotten about his dispute over Devdar's inheritance and the possibility of competitors coming after him. Even the danger of high-level Supremes and ordinary Celestials finding out who he was and trying to hunt him down for it was no longer on his mind.
Those risks certainly existed, but faced with level 128 Devils, nothing else could hold Minos' attention.
And so his group was approaching the spot left by Devdar!
After almost 2 months traveling on the surface of Forfex's home planet, Minos' group stopped for the first time today, spotting ahead a large mountain in an almost perfect triangular shape, similar to the site artificially built by an ancient civilization described by Forfex's hints.
From where the group stopped, Minos, already fully recovered from the battle against Qhava-except for his missing wing, which he wouldn't recover without advancing a stage-felt that he was close to finding the fragment of his old friend's soul.
"The entrance to his old laboratory is just ahead. Let's proceed carefully." He warned his women, walking ahead, but aware of all the space around his group for tens of kilometers away from them.
There were no Celestials around and the few high-level Supremes, probably natives of the large forested area they were in, didn't seem willing to move.
"When are we going back to Hell?" Ruth asked as she walked behind him.
"It's not time yet," Minos said.
He had talked to them about the opportunity they would have by going to Hell before finishing the mission left by Forfex. But there was no right time for this return to Hell. Minos was waiting for a sign, something he was sure would happen at some point during his stay on this planet, but which he couldn't say for sure when it would appear. All he knew was that this sign would come at some point and he should act quickly then.
He added, "For now, let's focus on seeing what Forfex's soul fragment has prepared for us. I doubt that this will be solved by me merely giving some of his belongings to his people. There's probably some more complicated requirement for us to finish this mission and get what we want."
They agreed. Things had rarely been easy for them on their journey!
So they finished their way to the entrance of the area formerly belonging to Forfex, a place he had found on his last journey on this planet, before the last phase of Devdar's inheritance that he had attended.
At that time Forfex was only a high level Sovereign. As this region has the presence of high-level Supremes to this day, the group would have to go through a long path that led underground to that old abandoned building. Forfex had left several devices to get in the way of individuals like them, the only method of protecting themselves in such a dangerous region.
In the minutes in which they would make their careful way so as not to destroy the place where Forfex's soul fragment was, the group couldn't help but be impressed by Forfex's capabilities. Even though he was only a Sovereign when he occupied this place, he had built good concealment tools and traps around there to hinder even the Supremes!
But Minos had the Nautilus' Compass with him and after an hour, they reached the last barrier, passing through it and arriving at a place surrounded by glass walls, with a single entrance.
This special room, illuminated by blue crystals but difficult to see what was inside due to the opaque nature of the glass walls, was locked. Fortunately, Minos had the key to it because of his old friend's inheritance.
He opened the place, going ahead of his women, and couldn't help but be curious about the last remnants of his friend.
"You've finally come."
As soon as Minos set foot inside the large room, filled with items he didn't know what they were for, a voice sounded in the center of the area, where a small obelisk was glowing in a blue light, full of energy.
"Forfex." Minos saw an ethereal figure, semi-transparent and bluish, emerge from that obelisk, quickly forming a spiritual body very similar to Forfex's.
"You're strong, Minos." Said the soul fragment when he noticed his friend's cultivation. "Unfortunately, I couldn't reach that level."
"Yes, I regret that too." Minos was sincere as his women joined him in the room. "Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to introduce you to my family in life. But
I'll try now, even though you're already dead."
"Am I dead? Are you sure about that?"
