Chapter 33: The Spring of the Chubby Girl 12
"Is that fat woman her?"
"Yes, that's her. She clearly had plastic surgery!"
"She looks like a completely different person now. What a shame for Cole, he's still being kept in the dark!"
...
Elora couldn't shake the feeling that everyone was looking at her strangely today.
"Hey, Elora, have you had plastic surgery?" As soon as Elora sat down, Penelope, sitting in the back, leaned in with a gossiping expression.
Penelope, who always spoke her mind, was far more tolerable than those who whispered behind others' backs!
"What plastic surgery?" Elora looked at Penelope, confused.
"Didn't you see the campus website? You're famous!" Penelope quickly pulled out her phone, opened the webpage, and showed it to Elora.
Elora glanced at it. The photos featured the client during her overweight days, some with her head lowered while walking, some eating, and even one of her picking her teeth?!... Elora casually flipped through the images. "The photos are well taken, but I'm much fatter than in these pictures."
Penelope stared at her in shock, "Did you really have plastic surgery?"
"No, I just lost weight!" Elora glanced at her. "The doctor said being overweight is bad for my health, so I decided to lose some weight."
Penelope looked at her with intense curiosity. "So, does that mean overweight people are hidden gems? Should I lose more weight to become even prettier?" She even touched her own face as she spoke.
Elora didn't want to shatter her enthusiasm. Should I tell her that the client isn't actually that beautiful, and it's all thanks to my 70-point beauty score that's been adjusted to its optimal state without me even realizing?
"Heh, class is starting, let's go back." Elora hurriedly pushed Penelope away when she saw Cole approaching.
...
On the way home, Elora kept staring at Cole, filled with curiosity. Had he never seen her old photos? What would he think if he saw them?
Cole, feeling uncomfortable under her gaze, asked, "What's wrong?"
"Have you seen the campus website? The one about me... about the days when I was a chubby girl?"
"Yeah, I saw it. You were really quite overweight back then!"
"..." Can we not speak like this?!
"But I'm sure you didn't have plastic surgery!" Cole was particularly confident about this.
"Why?" Elora was curious. Everyone on campus thought she had undergone surgery.
"With how ferociously you eat and how carefree your smile is, your facial expressions are too vivid... If you had plastic surgery, I can't imagine how many times you would have had to go back to the hospital for repairs!"
"..." Sometimes, honesty isn't the best policy.
"The doctor said that being overweight affects health, so I decided to lose weight." Elora felt the need to explain herself to Cole.
"As long as you're healthy, that's all that matters. I think you could afford to stay a little bit chubby, just a little! If you were as fat as before, I'd be afraid I wouldn't be able to carry you, and I'd be crushed by you in seconds!"
"..." I think it's better if you stay silent!
They exchanged playful banter, quickly forgetting about the issue.
...
This was the truth, and Elora didn't pay much attention to it. After a few days, the gossip died down. However, Elora soon found herself at the center of new rumors.
"Senior, could you please share the secret of how you lost weight?" A shy-looking girl, about 20 years old, gazed up at Elora.
"..." When did I become a weight loss instructor?
"Senior?"
"It's actually simple, just exercise more, blah blah blah..."
...
When Elora arrived in class, she immediately walked over to Cole and snatched the water bottle from his hand, drinking greedily. "I'm so thirsty! How did those people even find me here?"
"What people?" Cole asked casually, still looking at his phone.
"Those overweight girls, they've been following me around asking for weight loss tips."
Cole handed her his phone, signaling for her to take a look.
"What's this about?" Elora took the phone, puzzled. "Apparently every 'fat person' is a hidden gem! You're not unattractive, it's just that your beauty was hidden by the weight."
A conspicuous advertisement caught Elora's eye, and at the end of the article, she saw a before-and-after comparison of a weight loss transformation.
Upon closer inspection, she realized, "Wait, that's me! I'm the spokesperson for some organization? How did I not know about this?"
"Heh, so that's why there were so many people crowding around me today." Elora suddenly understood. "Hold on, the real issue is that they're infringing on my image rights. I'm going to sue them."
Finally, the girl figured it out. "Leave it to me."
Elora nodded. She trusted Cole's ability to handle things, so she handed the matter over to him without hesitation.
