Chapter Six [ [The mindsets]

David could not comprehend how his lovely and pretty wife had maintained her purity at age 26. Typically, young adolescent girls have experiences already having sexual contact with male inmates soon after they have their first menstrual period in Western nations. But Daniele made herself different and he rarely met a pretty, educated woman.

For David, Daniele deserves a lavish wedding celebration, which he failed to provide because he had made promises to her parents due to the ongoing disputes and issues surrounding his mother's illness. How he wished to give Daniele the entire world in order to ensure a bright future for her and her children. At this point, when he needed his family's support the most, they were all going through unimaginable hardship.

Danielle is not aware of David's situation, despite the fact that she already senses that he is going through difficulties. David refuses to allow himself to be overcome by these kinds of obstacles because of his genuine faith and confidence in the Living Almighty God, who can give the wisdom to teach him the ways and means to survive.

Danielle's older brother once revealed to her that he had received information from the neighbor about David's first girlfriend, who claimed to be his engaged, set-up bride, and who he had met before she did while they were still in Europe.

"Sister, better alter your mind now, before it's too late. Don't wait till you have kids and then you finally decide to break up."

Daniele, who was already irritated, was reminded of David's numerous intrigues and bad qualities by her brother.

“If that's the case, why doesn't she appear before us and David so that she may ask him which of us he would choose? I'm ready to give him up if my status as his wife is invalidated and our marriage is declared null and void.”

Daniele makes a clear declaration to her brother, who had recently wed his wife from the northwest as well.

"Perhaps, I should learn to tolerate those women claiming for him. It added to his miseries. David doesn't like me to be inquisitive which leads him to more serious struggles," Danielle muses as she notices David frequently hurrying away after he lies next to her, making serious justifications that he must work hard for her and for their future children.

After spending so many days and weeks and months almost a year alone in their little, studio-style apartment, Danielle starts to have a strong urge to get a job since she keeps thinking that it would be a good way to help David out financially.

On that day, as David happily and excitedly returns home, he opens the door while dragging his work-related belongings.

Daniele greets her with joy when he sees her as a homebody and fixes her strewn bits and pieces while doing so. He never has the courage to talk to the neighbors who are watching from the sidewalk as he goes by.

David has a history of financial instability, so Daniele expects he would go along with her plans. "Honey, I am glad to inform you that I received a job call from the office where I applied long before we met," she says.

She hands him the letter of acceptance and watches to see how he responds.

“They will be considering, huh!>We are delighted to have such beautiful women in our office. < They clearly like you since you're such a beautiful woman and they like to embrace you instantly."

When Daniele asked him a question, David incredibly rejected it and seemed envious.

David asked Daniele, "What do you prefer? Tell me! Do you love your family more than money?" He is enraged because he feels that his dignity and duties as a man have been violated.

Daniele decided to marry David to have her own children and family. She left everything including her parents, friends, career when she decided to open her heart to David and learned to love him wholeheartedly. She started to ponders now.

She has no foods sometimes and she needs to keep the money tight which David gave in order that both ends will meet.

” Is this the reality of married life? I'm so bored at home doing nothing but waiting for your return, Honey!" Daniele frequently pleads, “after we make love, fulfills our wife-husband duties, and then you rush off to work hard.” David urged her to slow down because the neighbors were only behind the closed door, but Daniele yells.

"I was thrilled to accept you when you showed up. But as soon as you went, I realized how much I missed you. If I had a job, I could practice my profession as a psychiatrist, which I haven't done in a very long time.”

Daniele uses hushed tones to persuade David, who is currently counting the money in his pockets.

Most of the time when David visits their house, Daniele is thinking. She swiftly calls out, "Honey, come closer!”

She reaches for a dry cloth to dab his perspiration. David immediately made himself nude in front of her after taking off his clothes. She quickly turns on the electric fans so he may get some fresh air. She constantly keeps the house tidy and the bedding made up so that he would feel comfortable.

“How could I accept his outburst response if I insisted to him that I wanted that job,” Daniele wonders?

David suddenly loses his cool and strikes Daniele in the face with cash from his pocket while yelling,

Daniele has reasoned out the situation and had the guts to ask. However, David slapped her with the remaining cash and immediately dispersed it, stating,

"Is this what you want?"

David is enraged.

"You only wanted the cash, right? Then take everything from here!” David yelled aggressively at her.

David loses all sense of reason and disdain in the face of Daniele's good intentions. However, she soon finds that she is now seven months pregnant and is eager to give birth to her first child as David makes it a point to send her for a gynecologist check-up for a healthy pregnancy.

"How could you work with a child? Inform me!” David’s afraid as Danielestaysy silent tears running and flowing down her cheeks. Danielefindsjustificationss to go to the bathroom in order to escape David's angry behavior when he tries to touch her.

David's heart is touched by his love for Danielle as he quickly grabs Danielle and wraps his entire arms around her body hardly, not allowing her to escape. Danielle struggles against him and pulls him away, but David's strength and courage overcome Daniele's continual wriggling.

Her unborn child appears to be advising her to calm down and relax because it affects her. As David forbids her from working, Danielle can feel his love and concern for her and the unborn child growing inside of her. Daniele had that thought in the back of her head. He fights against the situation. Daniele begins to lose strength as her unborn child reacts to the tension in her womb; the unborn child stretches and hardens into a stiff, unyielding sensation in her abdomen. Daniele caves in as David reveals his love for her.

Daniele then has a taste for unripe green mangoes to eat with shrimp sauces, so David and Daniele head to the market. She soon interprets it as a food fixation as her unborn child enjoys her mothers' relaxation.

Daniele provided bread with cheese and butter as well as wholesome fruits. He immediately provides her the money she needs to make all the necessary purchases for her unborn baby. But she shouldn't be insistent about wanting to find work again. Daniele needs prenatal multivitamin pills. In an effort to provide Daniele with assurance and security through his promises and provisions, he does his best. In order to convey to Daniele how deeply he cares for her and her unborn child, David decides to make love to her.

Many days later, under pressure from Danielle to help him accept it so that he could earn money and have money, David said,

"Do some paper work for me and help me to manufacture handicrafts for our new business this holiday season," adding, "You also started to buy our baby's clothes and do some sewing and embroidery."

When David leaves to work in his handicraft business to make money, Daniele misses him badly. She feels sorry for him since she sees him working so hard and having no time to take care of himself, let alone shower and dress properly. There has been no response to Danielle’s' questions about the reality of married life.

Danielle thought, "Perhaps I should realize that this is indeed the life of a married pregnant lady whose husband is like David." As she did, Danielle started to feel at ease and joyful as David continued to show her daily how much he loved and cared for her by calling her on the mobile phone he tried to provide for her even though he had to keep money tight for other things.

One day, Danielle meets her younger, pregnant neighbor who shares a home with a Pakistani man. She tells Danielle numerous tales while Danielle quietly listens, and she even introduces Danielle to her boyfriend.

The young pregnant woman appears to be struggling financially as well, but Daniele intends to listen to her until she gives birth to her baby boy. David started to remind Daniele to stay out of intrigues and avoid commenting on whatever the young mother said. Recently, the lady has been making fun of Daniele because of her silence and tolerance because she expected Daniele will say something negative about David.

“You don't complain because you play as holy and hypocritical, and I'm not a hypocrite like you” The woman yelled directly forward.

"If you love your husband and your baby, you should bear to face whatever consequences and circumstances are arise on your route to family life. “Danielle patiently explains until the other person gets angry and walks away.

David made the decision to relocate Daniele to another neighborhood in the city in order to get rid of the young woman who was mocking Daniele's way of life and appeared eager to torment trouble for them in the three-story building they rented.

"Now, honey, I can show you that I'll be by your side constantly and that I'm prepared to defend you and our child from trespassers and troublemakers. Just believe me, honey, because I love you!” David explains softly as they embrace.

David finds peace and comfort when Daniele learns to be obedient and understanding in all situations. David frequently shares with Daniele the ups and downs of his early years with his parents. Daniele also learns to deal with difficult, adventurous, and unpredictable life circumstances.

And Daniele thinks about David's tenacity to faced challenging circumstances in life. This helps Daniele to accept life and love David even more than before. He even mentioned when his mother was left alone by his father in Bavaria and he had to eat rotten potatoes to fill out his empty aching stomach cravings for food to eat.

The new surroundings in the city seem favorable to Daniele. The hospital is just a walking distance from their apartment. And Daniele's plan has been settled to go quickly to the hospital once she experiences abrupt disturbances and abnormalities in her pregnancy. David makes it a point that Daniele will not suffer so much from his constant absence in her life as her due date to give birth is almost close.

David does not know Daniele's thoughts regarding her new neighbor. If he finds out, David probably transferred Daniele again to get rid of the intriguing neighbor. Daniele has a new neighbor who works in the hospital as a midwife. Daniele muses as she quickly plans to give birth at home because she has a midwife neighbor.

“David only left P500 since he departed two weeks ago. My due date is already this week, and there are no signals that he could attend the birth of my first child. I believe the midwife can help me find a solution to my financial situation.”

As Daniele closes her eyes and prays, she is tormented.

“Oh God, may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. It is raining and I find it difficult to walk to the hospital.”

Daniele has been making budget estimates even though she no longer fully follows her list.

However, Daniele continues to live in harmony with all of her neighbors, each of whom has a live-in partner.

“They are friendly, and I may seek assistance if my due date draws near.”

When Daniele is alone in her room, she frequently ponders.

Daniele says as she tenderly strokes her tummy, "I couldn't even buy a stove so that I could prepare dishes I like. I am starving now. It's wonderful my kid has additional pre-natal multivitamins."

"My baby, I adore you. Your dad seems to feel at ease and unwind when mommy continues to be affectionate and performs her duties as his wife without nagging, huh?”
