The Fake Daughter is the Hidden Bigshot

Chapter 17: Major Change

With her bunch of thoughts, she decided to risk her chance and ask Lawyer Feng, who, according to the system, was a person with great integrity and responsibility.

So, no matter the outcome, things wouldn't spiral put of control as she would definitely not go out to tattletale her.

"Miss, I won't comment on your decision, but I can tell you that it's not in my hands to be able to help you. According to the current facts, you're not in any household registration in this country, so you can only check on..."

After Lawyer Feng spent a good five minutes explaining how things worked and how could Ming Yue deal with it, Ming Yue frowned as she seemed to have forgotten that there was no need to care about it.

She and the Shen Family weren't related, save for Grandma Shen, so it didn't even matter what she did or where she left.

'Then... can't I leave just now?'

Hesitation appeared on her face as she wondered if that would be a good idea, but seeing the subtle look from Lawyer Feng, she was sure it wouldn't be a good idea to escape now.

Although she could ensure there were no tracks of her, a missing report would surely alert the authorities, given the Shen Family's standing and her unknown identity as their daughter.

"Alright. Thank you for agreeing to my request, Miss Feng," Ming Yue nodded politely with a small smile.

"My pleasure."

Hearing the curt response, she left the car to go back to the Shen Family.

There were some things she needed to sort out before leaving so as to not have any blemishes for her future life.

***

A plane landed back in capital city as a girl wearing a mask, a baseball cap and sunglasses descended the stairs.

A line of attendants bowed as she walked past them, giving a curt nod to everyone as thanks for their help in taking care of her private plane.

She had urgently flown back to discuss things with someone to quench the doubts and suspicions in her heart.

'There's no way it could be true...'

Yet her heart just couldn't accept such a situation and she mindlessly sat in a black sedan car, which looked too expensive but she didn't even notice it.

With only her thoughts being her companion, she arrived at a relatively quiet part of the city where the truly rich and elite lived.

Even then, the car didn't stop before coming before some villa's gates that opened upon verification of the car.

The car drove for another five minutes before the driver-cum-assistant got out and opened her door for her.

Blankly, the girl walked oit before walking to the second floor and entering the room before locking it.

It wasn't until after dinner that she gathered her courage to knock on the door hesitantly.

"Young Miss, the Second Young Master is out at the moment and will come late."

A maid passing by informed her as the woman awkwardly put her hand away before uttering a word of thanks and rushing back.

"Oh god! What am I doing! That was so embarrassing! He's my brother! Remember, Zhang Ying, he's your brother!"

The girl was none other than the A-lister Zhi Ying.

She'd only changed her first name and used 'Zha' of Zhang before changing it to the 'Zhi' sound to make it more cute and feminine on the stage.

It was just a stage name and something that was her nickname from her parents.

Thinking about them, a smile flashed her face before becoming sad.

"I wonder if they'll finally find a treatment for Grandpa?"

She wasn't sure what the core issue was since she stayed out filming most of the time.

And her younger brothers respected and cherished her a lot because she was their ideal figure.

Even though the oldest of the brothers worked tirelessly to handle the family business, he wasn't well-liked as her.

Well, buisnessmen were all known to be emotionally distant but he was said to have already married out of love despite being so young!

She was older and always felt pressure of marriage...

'Sigh! What am I thinking about?'

Shaking her head to compose herself, she checked the time and finally went out.

However, just as she opened her door, her smile froze.

"Cai...Sheng?" She softly called out her second brother's name, who responded swiftly, finding it strange that his sister was looking for him.

"Hmm. Mary told me you were looking for me? What's it, Ying-Jie?"

He respectfully called her 'Jie', meaning elder sister in their native language as she led him into her room and finally sat down.

Although puzzled, Caisheng patiently waited for his sister.

He was also a bit anxious after having doubts about her friend and felt maybe he did something already?

"Caisheng," Zhi Ying called out, a tone of seriousness lacing her voice.

"Yes, Jiejie," Zhang Caisheng replied positively.

"I want to know... about Bing..."

As soon as she said this, her breath caught in her throat, making her unable to voice her doubts.

But how could Caisheng not see her reluctant and hesitant expression?

However, he wasn't one to let his sister be wronged, so he directly struck while the iron was still hot.

"Sister, I doubt he's changed and..."

"Can you investigate him?" Zhi Ying interrupted him while looking down, as if she'd been betrayed by her trusted ones.

Noting her somber mood, Caisheng hesitated but nodded in the end, softly saying, "...I will take care of it."

Zhi Ying just nodded bitterly.

The moment Caisheng exited the room, his eyes turned cold as he headed to his elder brother's room.

Although he was also a CEO, his brother had a higher position, authority, power and value.

So, why would he not ask for help?

He wasn't a fool to jeopardize his sister because of his stupid pride to help her simply because they were in the same field.

He was much smarter than that.

Though, he was more curious about how his sister's stance on this topic changed.

"The last time, she seemed ready to fight me to her death but today..."

"It doesn't make any sense," he muttered softly.

"No! What matters is getting to the core of this matter first!"

Unknowingly, Ming Yue had brought about a major change in the world's fate without even knowing it.

After all, who could guess that her thoughts could be heard by anyone other than themselves despite having a mystical system that could communicate with onself in thoughts only?
