Chapter 26: Time Passing
After hearing that Marco would not wake up soon, Diya mobilised her people to care for and guard Marco. She first stationed Sonia with Marco and ordered three squads to guard Marco. They will be taking eight-hour shifts and are charged with protecting Marco with their lives. Gaia was sent to Diya and Ema to keep an eye on, though she was docile for now there was no guarantee that she would be later.
Little to Diya's and Ema's knowledge Gaia had no interest nor motivation to harm anyone related to Marco. The reason? Fear, she was deftly afraid of Marco. She still felt primal fear through her veins when she witnessed his appearance and heard his name.
She spent her time frolicking in Diya's garden, she shamelessly made the garden her home and to Diya's frustration she often found Gaia's messes everywhere. Gaia's divinity helped nature progress, so the result was the perfect version of an ideal garden. The cause of Diya's frustration was the animals that were in constant heat.
Wanting to enjoy a simple stroll in her garden now usually turned into a surreal sight. If that were not the case, she would see Gaia just lazing about eating fruits. The lazy woman had not contributed to her household one bit and she took over one of her favourite places. Diya found this unforgivable, thus the bullying of Gaia began.
Diya and Ema would throw administrative tasks at her, such tasks were running the mansion, planning manpower to care for the mansion etc. This was to ensure that the lazy goddess would earn her keep. It was simply irritating to see someone so relaxed while they were stressed over their husband.
As Diya and Ema threw work at Gaia, the world was still progressing. Earth countries bickered and miniature conflicts started again, the threat of the mysterious incident was slowly left behind. As the media tried its best to cover up the incident and assure their people. The government received a report that made the people in the white house despair.
A report of several sonic booms and a small number of trees collapsing were reported. This caused a collective headache to ripple throughout all service people. Having another incident in the same state was no coincidence, but the fact that they could not narrow down the culprit was a big factor. The fact of the matter was that they were still trying to account for all the missing people. So having another incident no matter how minor was painful.
