Chapter 25: A Dive 4
To Marco an eternity was passing by but for the girls observing his completely pitch-black body only a few minutes had passed. "Gaia being a primordial goddess have you seen anything like this?" Diya's Hologram asked as she was completely lost as to what was happening. As she has access to someone incomparably older than her, she should have more experience right?
Gaia just narrowed her eyes at the hologram "You thought of something rude hadn't you" Gaia questioned as she knew that look, that woman definitely thought something extremely rude of her. "Yea sure keep believing that, now answer me Gaia" Diya shamelessly spoke not caring about the mother goddess's reaction one bit. Gaia just stared at the hologram, and a long stretch of silence ensued. Sensing that Diya would not relent Gaia just shook her head and said, "Never seen anything like this in my life." This response just made Diya and Sonia glare at her in distrust.
The both didn't believe that Gaia knew nothing, Gaia just continued to observe Marco. She was mainly curious to what was happening, she thought that maybe it could be linked to his ominous name. As Gaia was contemplating the life force from the surroundings became stagnant. Feeling an instinctual chill Gaia and Sonia focused all their attention on Marco.
Marco twitched, he slowly sat up on the bed and opened his eyes. Seeing his eyes Gaia felt the same chill she felt when she heard Marco's true name. Sonia froze in fright while Diya was wondering what she was seeing. From all the supernatural beings she knew, nothing resembled Marco now. Nothing felt as dangerous compared to his current appearance. His eyes were a sheet of black, nothing could be seen while mouths and eyes grew all over his body.
The mouths moved simultaneously, "Greetings', this guy will take a while to wake up, we are currently showing him all his past memories in hopes that he isn't so weak." The moment this was stated Marco fell back to the bed unconscious. This response made Gaia gape, "Marco is weak?" she stuttered remembering when she was easily subdued. Diya was also shocked as she remembered Marco sparring with both Ema and herself to a stalemate.
The idea of the current Marco being weak was absurd, the only thing that Diya thought was Marco's weakness would be control. His control over his power was still amateurish but that was because he just relearnt how to use it. In other words, it was like a wheelchair-bound man miraculously healing and trying to run the moment he healed. This was impossible, explaining Marco's extreme leakage of power but he was already considered strong.
Marco was seeing "his" own life, many things passed through his mind and at some point, he felt numb. He saw that he lived an extremely lonely life, he lived for power not stopping and only surging ahead. He only ever felt happy when he married Ema and Diya, life became a dream from then on. Living a blissful and carefree life, the trio ignored the power struggle of the supernatural world and just focused on their happiness.
