Chapter 9: How to become a superhero steps 1

[Third-Person POV]

"So, the time has come?" Emma asked, a hint of confusion evident in her tone.

"Yes," Emiya replied, his voice brimming with confidence. "I'll make my debut during the next breakout at Arkham Asylum. According to my calculations, it's set to happen in two days. I'll stop the criminals before they even have the chance to escape." He leaned back slightly, a smug grin on his face. "And while I'm there, I'll gather DNA samples from Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, Bane, Mr. Freeze, and Clayface. Those will help me not only develop cures for their conditions but also figure out how to harness and enhance their powers."

Emma raised an eyebrow, skepticism creeping into her expression. "And how exactly did you get this information? I doubt something like that would be so readily available."

"I hacked into Arkham's security systems," Emiya explained nonchalantly. "From there, I found evidence that Riddler is planning a prison break with the help of Black Mask."

Emma sighed, shaking her head. "Black Mask has been a thorn in my side while setting up business in Gotham. He's one of the more... persistent obstacles. Anyway, do you have any intel on the Court of Owls? I've found absolutely nothing."

"No," Emiya admitted. "Same goes for the League of Assassins, Task Force X, and the Light. Though, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure the Light even exists."

Emiya tapped a finger thoughtfully against his chin. "Hmm. Task Force X won't be an immediate problem, I think. Amanda Waller is one of the most secretive individuals in the world, almost like Batman with her contingencies and blackmail material. Dealing with her will require more preparation. I need to dig up enough intel before deciding whether to kill her or imprison her."

"Yeah, I meant to ask what are you planning to do about people like the Joker?" Emma questioned; her tone serious. "You told me before that you're not into killing if there's even a chance they can be saved."

Emiya leaned back slightly, his expression thoughtful yet firm. "About that… I'll either put him in prison or deal with him permanently in a way that looks like it was his own mistake. But first, I need to learn more about the Joker of this world because some of the world joker immortal ." He paused for a moment, as if considering his next words carefully. "I've also created a moral code for myself: killing will only be a last resort, used when there's absolutely no other way. That said, people like the Joker will get one chance. Just one. After that, I'll eliminate them. I can't build an empire with lunatics like him running loose."

Emma nodded slowly, taking in his words. "Fair enough. So, what now?"

"Now? Let's eat something. I'm starving, and I've got a task to handle," Emiya said, already heading toward the Kitchen.

"And that would be?" Emma raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued.

"Gacha, baby," Emiya replied with a sly grin, his tone playful.

After finishing their meal, Emma and Emiya were in the castle's lavish sitting room. Emma lounged on a luxurious sofa, scrolling through her tablet, while Emiya stood nearby, visibly tense.

"Wish me good luck, Emma. This gacha pull is really important," Emiya said, his voice a mix of excitement and nervousness.

Emma gave him a casual wave without looking up. "Yeah, yeah, good luck. Don't pull another sock or something."

Emiya ignored her teasing and focused. "Alright, here goes nothing…"

The system responded with a satisfying chime.

[Yes]

[Reward: SPARTAN-III Program (from Halo)]

"Yes!" Emiya exclaimed, his fist punching the air in triumph.

Emma's eyebrow arched as she set her tablet aside. "So, you finally pulled something useful for once?"

"Not just useful—the Spartan-III program from Halo!" Emiya declared, his grin wide with excitement.

"Impressive," Emma admitted with a slight smile. "What's next? Go on, pull again."

Nodding eagerly, Emiya initiated the next roll.

[Yes]

[Reward: BR85 Heavy-Barrel Service Rifle (from Halo 4)]

Emiya sighed, his excitement dimming. "Alright, I get it. Lightning doesn't strike twice."

Emma smirked. "A weapon, huh? Well, look on the bright side—you've got a literal super-soldier program. Now all you need to do is start mass-producing clones."

"That's true," Emiya agreed, a determined glint in his eyes. "But first things first. Time to prepare for my superhero debut."

[2 days later]

[??? POV]

Being a guard at Arkham Asylum is the worst decision I've ever made. I took this job because of my gambling debts. The pay $50,000 a month was too good to refuse. But now, I understand why so few people work here. The inmates. The breakouts. The constant fear.

Whenever the alarms go off, I know it means trouble. Tonight, the chaos reached its peak. Criminals were everywhere, tearing through the halls like animals. I couldn't stop them—I couldn't even try. All I could do was run and pray Batman would swoop in and save the day.

I sprinted toward the exit, my heart pounding in my chest. But before I could get far, a figure stepped out of the shadows, blocking my path.

"Oh, no..." I muttered under my breath.

"Where do you think you're going?" he snarled.

It was Mr. Teeth. Of course, it had to be him. The bastard had a knife in his hand, and that sick grin of his… God, I hated that smile.

You think you're getting out, Walker?" he sneered, stepping forward with a wicked glint in his eyes.

Before I could react, he lunged. I dodged, barely, but pain shot through my right leg. I looked down in horror—his knife was buried deep in my leg.

I tried to backpedal, but he was faster. His fist slammed into my stomach, knocking the wind out of me. I crashed into a pillar.

Mr. Teeth loomed over me, his twisted grin sending chills down my spine. "I'm going to enjoy carving those teeth of yours," he sneered.

Was this it? Was this how I was going to die?

Just as I resigned myself to my fate, a brilliant blue light lit up the hallway.

BAM!

I barely had time to react before a figure crashed into Mr. Teeth, sending him flying into the wall.

"Are you alright, Mr. Walker?"

I blinked, trying to focus, and finally looked up. Standing above me was someone in a red and gold suit, sleek and almost glowing. A spider logo was emblazoned on his chest.

"Y-yeah," I stammered. "But my leg—he stabbed me. Who... who are you? You're not Batman and not one of his sidekicks."

The figure with his voice steady and reassuring said

"I'm Iron Spider. And don't worry about your leg—you'll be fine now. Because I'm here."
