Chapter 6: The Goal !
[????? P.O.V]
As I stepped out of the room wearing the clothes my creator had provided—a crisp white shirt and black jeans—I took in the sight of him sitting confidently on a chair, a whiteboard set up behind him.
I smiled as I approached, settling into the chair across from him, crossing my legs gracefully.
"So, care to explain your grand plan, my creator?" I asked, my voice laced with curiosity.
"Ah! Yes, absolutely!" he replied, springing out of his chair and moving toward the whiteboard. He seemed almost...relieved to have someone to share his thoughts with.
He paused, marker in hand. "So, what part of the plan do you want to know first, my—" He hesitated, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "Ah, what should I call you? Project Anna was your designation, but you deserve a unique name. Something fitting for my first creation, my right-hand woman."
He had a point. Anna was a placeholder, but I was more than a mere project. I was the first of his creations, designed to be exceptional, and my name should reflect that.
"Emma Frost," I said decisively.
"What?" he blinked, startled.
"Emma Frost—that's my name," I repeated, confident in my choice.
"Alright, Emma," he nodded, a faint smile playing at his lips. "Listen closely."
"The goal is to advance humanity toward the age of stars. In other words, the Galactic Human Empire," he said dramatically, spreading his arms wide as if envisioning the vast cosmos bowing to his vision.
I tilted my head, absorbing his words. "But to achieve that, you'd need to unite humanity first," I stated, more as a fact than a question.
"Exactly," he nodded, his eyes gleaming with determination. "And that's where projects like Spartan and Space Marine come into play. But," he continued, pacing as he spoke, "it will require an immense amount of time, money, and resources if I try to do it alone."
I raised an eyebrow. "So what's your plan to overcome those obstacles?"
He stopped, turning to me with a sly grin. "I have a cheat—my system. But," he added, raising a hand as if to emphasize restraint, "I don't want to rely on it too much. Using it recklessly would make me dependent, and I intend to build this empire with as much of my own power as possible."
I leaned back, intrigued. "Ambitious. So you're playing the long game—carefully leveraging your advantages without becoming a slave to them."
"Precisely," he said, his voice steady with conviction. "The system is a tool, not a crutch. Together, we'll lay the foundation for a united humanity and the empire that follows."
A smile crept across my lips. "Well then, let's get to work, Emperor."
"No, I don't want to be the Emperor. The empire will be a democracy, with checks and balances, so it doesn't get corrupted like so many others have," he said, his voice carrying a faint edge of anger.
"Why? If you're going to create an empire, why not rule over it yourself?" I asked, genuinely curious.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Because I don't want to be stuck ruling an empire for years upon years. There are multiple dimensions to explore, countless things to experience beyond this one realm. And, to be honest..." He paused, glancing at me with a faint smirk. "I don't like ruling. It's not who I am."
I frowned, leaning back in my chair. "But isn't it risky to just hand over something like this to someone else? You'd be building an empire only to let someone else steer the ship. What if they screw it up?"
"It's not about handing it off," he said firmly. "It's about building something sustainable—a system that works on its own, with leaders who are accountable, and structures that ensure progress. If I do it right, it won't need me hovering over it to survive."
"But why are you creating the empire if you don't want to rule over it?" I asked again, my curiosity still burning.
He paused for a few seconds, his gaze fixed on some distant thought. Then, with quiet resolve, he answered, "Because humanity is destined for the stars. And I just want to give it a push."
I raised an eyebrow, taking in his words. There was something profound about his answer, but it still left me wanting to understand more.
Before I could ask another question, he cut me off with a wave of his hand. "No more questions, Emma," he said firmly. "We have an empire to create in this universe—where gods and monsters exist. This is DC, after all."
His tone left no room for argument, and I simply nodded, a slight smirk tugging at my lips. "Fine, boss," I replied. "But don't think I won't bring this up again. Let's build this empire of yours—starting with the foundation."
He chuckled lightly, already turning back to his work. "That's the spirit," he said. "Now, let's get to it."
