Chapter 10: How to become superhero step2
After rescuing Mr. Walker, I knelt down and applied a healing spray to his injured leg. something I developed myself, worked quickly to seal wounds and numb pain. As the spray began to take effect, I looked him in the eye and spoke with calm authority.
"Get outside," I instructed, pointing toward the exit. "Take him with you." I gestured toward the unconscious Mr. Teeth lying on the floor. "He's not waking up anytime soon—I knocked the wind out of him. Just make sure you're out of here before things heat up again."
Walker hesitated for a moment, staring at me with a mix of gratitude and shock, before giving a stiff nod. "Thanks," he muttered, hoisting the villain up with visible effort and limping toward the exit.
Good. One less distraction to worry about.
I straightened up, glancing around the dimly lit corridors of Arkham Asylum. The chaotic sounds of distant fights and alarms echoed through the building. I knew the police and reporters were already on their way, but it would still take them a few minutes to arrive. That gave me plenty of time to deal with the remaining villains and achieve one of my objectives: collecting DNA samples.
Of all the targets here, Ivy was the most critical. Her connection to the Green made her an extraordinary threat. Like Swamp Thing, she wasn't just a wielder of plant-based powers—she was an agent of nature itself. Her ability to control men through pheromones only added to the danger. I couldn't afford to give her a chance to use those powers.
The plan was straightforward: take her down swiftly and without hesitation. No stoping to talk to her ,no theatrics just efficiency.
I clenched my fists, feeling the power of my suit. It was time to move.
activated my spider legs, and four sleek, mechanical appendages unfurled from my back . Moving swiftly toward the main section of the building, I encountered a few criminals in my path. A punch to the face for one, a quick dodge followed by a kick to the ribs for another each takedown was quick and efficient as I closed the distance to my target.
[And you told me you didn't need a woman in the chair,] Emma's teasing voice came through the earpiece embedded in my helmet.
[The AI isn't ready yet,] I replied, catching a pipe swung at my head and countering with a sharp elbow to the attacker's jaw. [That's why I need you. Now, give me an update—how far out are the police and Batman?"]
[20 minutes]she said.[ "You were right: Black Mask's gang is blocking the police from getting here faster, and Riddler's keeping Batman busy. Still no sign of his sidekicks."]
["Figures," ]I muttered, delivering a precise blow to another criminal and watching him crumple to the ground. Wiping my gloves clean, I surveyed the unconscious bodies scattered at my feet. I really have to go easy on this guys like 5% of my energy is need ["Black Mask's priority is breaking Clayface out to consolidate his power to fight over Two-Face's gang and clay face has a debt to black face . And Riddler? He's just here for the money and the thrill of outsmarting Batman."]
I moved forward cautiously .heading toward the glass dome at the building's center. From a distance, I spotted Ivy. She was commanding her plant minions, using them to deter anyone foolish enough to come near her. Her movements were fluid, . She was heading toward the heart of the dome, her vines growing stronger with every step.
I raised my right hand, the palm glowing with the charged energy of my suit's repulsor. Taking careful aim, I whispered to myself, "Let's make this count."
With a resounding whoosh, the repulsor blast surged forward, cutting through the air with a brilliant flash of blue light. The sound echoed through the space, drawing the attention of a few stragglers who were too late to intervene. The blast struck Ivy squarely, and before she could even process what hit her, she fall to the ground, unconscious.
"That was 160% power," I said under my breath, lowering my hand. "That should keep her down for a while."
I allowed myself a brief moment of satisfaction. One more villain neutralized, and the way to the DNA sample she guarded was now clear.
["That should be enough, Iron Spider," ]Emma's voice echoed in my ear.
["Yeah, I was just taking extra so I'll have more material to work with,] I replied. "Now I can start working on a cure for her."
I withdrew the needle from her hand, retracting it back into my suit, and then secured power-dampening cuffs onto her wrists. With her neutralized, I began making my way toward the next section of the prison, remaining vigilant and dealing with any stray criminals that crossed my path.
As I navigated through the chaos, knocking out stray criminals on my path, I felt a sudden, massive force slam into me from the side. The impact hurled me through the air, and I crashed into a stone wall with a loud thud. Pain shot through my body, and I let out a groan as I tried to regain my bearings.
"Ahh," I muttered, shaking off the daze. My eyes darted up, and I spotted Clay face . His monstrous body shifted grotesquely, and one of his massive hands morphed into a hammer, glistening with his clay-like texture.
"I don't know who or what you are," he growled, his voice low and menacing, "but I'm going to crush you."
Clay face charged at me, the ground trembling under his weight, raising his hammer-shaped arm high above his head for a devastating blow.
