Chapter 9: Adjustments

Rachel and Rebecca appeared high in the endless blue sky, their gazes upon the continent of Sibba.

Rachel looked east in the direction of the continent of Jeuls and then west toward Playz. "Stay here and be my anchor. Trust me and don't move."

Before Rebecca fully comprehended the statement Rachel was gone.

Rebecca's eyes slowly widened: 'Anchor?... Trust you?... Don't move? Saying things in this way makes me extremely nervous Rachel.'

While Rebecca was lost in her thoughts she suddenly felt a peculiar sensation.

There suddenly felt like a fine thread was pulled taut from the top of her head through the center of her being and extending out of her crotch.

Her eyes widened in surprise as she instinctively utilized all of her allies to fortify herself.

She felt Sibba lower significantly then move into a northwesterly direction.

All the while she maintained her central position above the continent. Not truly being pulled along but more as if she were the guide for the continent's movements.

As she calmed she fully understood the magnitude of the situation. "How can anyone be so powerful? And hasn't she moved continents by herself without an 'anchor'?"

"Yes but this way is easier and quicker."

Rebecca jumped and clutched at her chest. As she did so she realized she was no longer tethered to the continent. "Jeeze Rachel! First you use me to move a continent and then you try to stop my heart."

Rachel looked at her, the right corner of her mouth rising in a half smile "Maybe you would notice my presence if you stopped talking to yourself all the time."

With that she grabbed Rebecca's shoulder and they disappeared from the spot.

They reappeared over Playz in an instant.

"Only two more times. We need to adjust Playz and Jeuls a bit as well."

Again she was gone but this time Rebecca knew what to expect and she did not panic.

In this way they moved Playz up higher into the vast sky and then further west away from Sibba. They did not raise or lower Jeuls only shifting it southeast away from Sibba.

Once this was done Rachel once again returned to Rebecca.

Rebecca stared at her friend for a long minute and then slowly shook her head and pursed her lips.

'This woman', she could not help but continue to shake her head. "Couldn't you have just told the continents to adjust their positions? Why do you have to show off all the time?"

Rachel raised her chin a bit, smiled, and casually looked to Rebecca "first that would've taken about 3 days and because of that new sacred location on Sibba the move needed to be quick."

Her smile broadened "secondly I like to show off." She winked and then looked down with a frown.

Rebecca instantly looked down into the dark below "What's wrong?" Rebecca's voice was tinged with concern.

"There seems to be a problem in the night sky." Rachel sighed dramatically and massaged the bridge of her nose. "I have time to take care of it later. Let's go make sure everything is okay in Sibba's below."

"A problem in the night sky?" Rebecca was instantly nervous.

The abyss below was called the night sky. It was not truly dangerous but many had gone there never to return so people always took great care when it came to the night sky.

The crystalline area below Sibba continent was dark and lacked its luster only being illuminated by the luminosity of the sky.

As Rachel and Rebecca descended Rachel's eyes shimmered. A rainbow light radiated from her and the crystal labyrinth before her slowly began to clear and shine.

People inside were pressed to the crystalline walls and as the clarity improved they visibly relaxed.

The light radiating from Rachel dulled a bit and she observed the labyrinth and the people. After a few seconds she nodded in satisfaction.

Again she looked down into the night sky with a frown and a subtle focus if her eyes.

Her lips pursed and she seemed resolves about something.

She looked to Rebecca "Okay. We need to see about Anis."

She touched Rebecca's shoulder and they left the spot.
