Chapter 5: Being drugged by a ghost.
Thirty Years
Thirty whole years!
The Phantoms of the Land of Lost Dreams had never been more excited than they were today, receiving a guest!
The Land of Lost Dreams, which had been operating for three decades, had generated massive wealth and become famous across the continent, but finally, today—at long last—it had truly opened its doors!
Today, their guest wasn't a fat pig, politically insignificant, or a gold-digger. Today, their guest was a member of the core of the imperial power elite.
The chimeras were moved to tears.
Happiness had come too suddenly!
The next emperor, Reinhein, had personally arrived at their gates!
The opportunity to overthrow the Hain Empire and spread the glory of the Dragon was within reach!
"Comrades! Sisters!"
The Phantom Dragon Demon, invigorated, rallied them like a commander before battle:
"This is the first time we've done something meaningful in thirty years!
"An opportunity like this may only come once in the entire history of the Land of Lost Dreams. The chance to change our fate is right before us. Now it's up to us to have the resolve to seize this hard-won opportunity!"
The Dragon Chimera solemnly declared: "*Swear it in the name of Lord Olivia, the Dragon of **!"
The chimeras clenched their fists, their expressions grave.
"Drain him dry—leave not a drop behind!"
Phantom Dragon Demon: "Good! Let's go!"
With that, the Phantom Dragon Demon carefully selected ten Phantoms with the strongest qualifications, dressed them to perfection, and sent them to Emperor Rhine's private room.
Even then, the staff of the Land of Lost Dreams felt this wasn't enthusiastic enough, so the Phantom Dragon Demon, as the leader, personally doused herself in perfume, donned a light sari, and entered Rhine's private room.
At the center of the lounge,
Rhine was surrounded by a group of chimeras disguised as young maidens, lounging in his embrace on both sides.
As a member of the royal family, Rhine also carried a considerable amount of goddess blood in his veins. His natural charm and devilish appearance left the Phantoms swooning.
This, combined with his identity as the Imperial Prince, made the Phantoms even more motivated to corrupt him.
The Phantoms employed every trick they knew, flattering and pampering the prince in an attempt to catch his interest.
However, Rhine seemed disinterested in the seductive antics of the chimeras.
Instead, he casually chatted with them about what he had seen and experienced.
He spoke of current events, gossiped about certain "bitches" within the Forbidden Army,
And generally entertained them as a skilled storyteller.
The chimeras listened intently.
But still…
They couldn't help but glare resentfully at the waistband of Rhine's trousers.
When, exactly, would this prince get to the point?
Seeing the emperor sitting with his arms crossed, the chimeras couldn't shake the feeling that their business acumen was being questioned.
And at this critical moment, it was their leader's turn to step in!
The Dragon Chimera, who had been observing from the sidelines, sidled up to Rhine, leaning into his arms.
After exchanging a few flirtatious remarks with the Imperial Prince, the Phantom Dragon Demon finally found her opening!
"Your Imperial Highness, please try our specialty wine, made exclusively here at the Land of Lost Dreams."
With a seductive smile, the Phantom Dragon Demon brought Rhine a silver goblet of wine.
This so-called specialty wine was, in fact, fine wine laced with potent drugs.
As for what kind of drugs... well, what else could a chimera drug it with?
Once this Imperial Prince was drugged, it would be much easier to proceed with corrupting him, leading him into temptation, doing business, and converting him to the great Dragon!
The Dragon Chimera watched Rhine expectantly.
To her delight, Rhine accepted the goblet and took a sip.
Rhine savored the taste and remarked: "Mmm, excellent medicine!"
The Phantom Dragon Demon's heart soared—only to crash back down as she repeated his words in disbelief: "Excuse me? Your Highness, what did you just say?"
The Phantom Dragon Demon was stunned.
For a moment, the entire room fell silent.
A nearby chimera wiped the cold sweat from her brow and offered an awkward smile: "What His Highness Rhine surely meant to say was... good wine, right?"
"No."
Rhine shook his head. "While the wine isn't bad, it's merely second-rate. However, the Silver Blood Dew, a specialty of the Psi Domain, mixed within the wine—along with the Dragon Scale Powder—is rare and exquisite, indeed."
Rhine seemed genuinely impressed. "You've gone to such lengths to drug me—it's quite flattering."
A thunderclap seemed to explode in the chimeras' minds.
This is bad.
Had they encountered an expert?
As the chimeras stood there, dumbfounded and unsure of what to say,
Rhine did something even more shocking.
He picked up the silver goblet and downed the entire drugged wine in one go!
"!!!"
The Phantoms were in utter shock. This prince knew the wine was drugged, yet he drank it all anyway?!
But Rhine, now having consumed the tainted wine, remained composed and unshaken.
"While the medicine is impressive, I'm the royal heir of Hain. The goddess blood in my veins neutralizes the effects of the Dragon Scale Powder, and as for the Silver Blood Dew—unless it reacts with the bodily fluids of a chimera, it won't work, either. A shame, really. Such good medicine wasted."
Rhine wiped his mouth, feigning disappointment.
The chimeras, on the other hand, were on the verge of tears.
What humiliation!
What a pity…
To think the Silver Blood Dew only reacts with a chimera's bodily fluids to take effect?!
Even they hadn't known that!
Meanwhile, Rhine's playful smile gradually faded. "Well, I've tasted the toasts of all these lovely ladies. Why don't we get down to business?"
"Get down to business?"
The chimeras looked coy. "Is His Highness finally planning to indulge us?"
"No."
Rhine squared his shoulders and said,
"I'm here to conduct an anti-vice raid."
