Star Wars: CT-0292 Vaughn

Chapter 8: Maridun

"Vaughn!? Where's Anakin!? How is he!? Will he survive!?" The young girl threw at me, I also saw Aayla Secura head towards us as well.

"Slow down, Commander. Anakin is currently being operated on by the Medical Droid, and I do not know if he will survive." I told Ahsoka and she calmed down a bit.

"Alright, I'll go in and check on him." Ahsoka said as she walked towards the door.

I sighed mentally as I stepped Infront of her.

Both hands on my DC15S.

"Sorry, Commander. Doctors orders. You cannot enter." I told Ahsoka, and at that she looked hurt.

"What!? He's my Master! I can help." She exclaimed, I saw that she wanted to push me away but held back.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Aayla Secure hasten her steps.

"Commander, I'm sorry. If I could I would let you in. But the MedBay is under the command of the Medical Personnel, not even Grand Master Yoda could order me to step aside." I told Ahsoka.

She looked at me angrily for a few seconds, I could see that her expression entered a facade that the Jedi were not meant to express.

"Lieutenant, step aside. Jedi are known to recover better in the presence of their Padawans." Ahsoka said angrily.

"Commander, please, calm yourself. And I will not stand aside. This is for the best of General Skywalker." I told her.

"Best for Anakin! How would you know!? I'm his Padawan." She exclaimed.

But that's when Aayla fucking Secure put her hands on Ahsoka's shoulder.

"Ahsoka, calm yourself. I know what you are going through, but the Lieutenant is correct. We cannot barge into an operation." Aayla Secure said and I nodded relievedly towards her.

And with that Ahsoka recovered and looked at me with a horrified expression.

"Sorry! Sorry! Sorry, Vaughn. I don't know what came over me…" Ahsoka said as she trailed off.

"It is fine Ahsoka, every Padawan goes through it. It is hard for a Padawan to separate from their Master." Aayla Secure said, meanwhile I standing there, silent.

"You need not apologise, Commander. Emotion is to be human." I told her, and with that she got a conflicted expression.

"But Jedi does not have emotions." Ahsoka said and with that I looked at Aayla horror-struck.

"To not have, and to not be controlled is two different things, Ahsoka. Jedi have emotion, but we do not let it interfere in our decision." Aayla admitted.

"Although I'm not a Jedi I agree with General Secura. We Clones were bred for war, but that does not mean we do not feel. I get sad when my brothers die, but I don't show it. A Commander must not show weakness, and right now. Jedi are Commanders." I said, don't know if it actually worked to relieve a bit of Ahsokas stress but I doubt it.

I toned it out as Aayla and Ahsoka walked a bit away to discuss something.

About 15 minutes I heard running and turned towards Marshal Commander Bly.

"Generals, Lieutenant! We need you guys in the cockpit. We're about to crash into a star." Bly exclaimed and we began running after him.

As we were running he explained.

"The navicomputer is fried and the ship is heading straight for a sub in hyperspace, if we hit that then we'll be fried in a second." Bly explained as we reached the cockpit.

Rex was trying to fix the Navicomputer but obviously failed.

He followed us as we ran in.

There Hawk sat trying to fix some of the steering systems.

"Hawk, you're a better pilot than me, so you'll fly. I'll Co-pilot you." Ahsoka said as she sat down in the Co-pilot seat.

"We can switch off the power to force us out of hyperspace." I suggested.

Aayla began thinking for a few seconds before responding.

"Yes. That should work!" Aayla explained and like that it was decided.

"Alright, Lieutenant. Inform the troopers to prepare for a crash landing." Aayla said and I nodded.

Sprinting to the communicator officers seat I began clicking buttons, getting it started.

Soon enough I got the alarm around the ships to start.

The cams also showed the clone troopers running towards emergency landing areas.

Around the ship there were multiple seats, areas and rooms designed to withstand a crash.

"The Troopers are getting secured." I told Aayla.

Rex was standing behind Ahsoka and Hawk, meanwhile Bly was working on any possibility of sending a signal.

"I'll prepare to evacuate General Skywalker." I said as I stood up and begun sprinting.

Only 42 seconds after I sprung out of the cockpit did the ship trash around for a few seconds as gravity control on the ship turned off and I began floating.

But I was trained for this and quickly began heading towards the MedBay.

About 15 seconds later the gravity suddenly started again as I was thrown onto the ground again.

However I expected this and landed on my feet in a crouch before running into his room.

The Doctor droid was done with the small operation and he was patching Anakin up with bandages.

I sat down into the safety seat situated in the side of the room as I felt the alarms blaring even more, to prepare for contact.

And the contact I felt.

The entire ship smashed into the ground as my head flung forward, and my mind got dazy as it smashed back into the seat.

It then calmed down as we began shaking like crazy but my neck stayed in place.

After a while we completely stopped.

I saw the medical droid was completely scrapped.

But he for Anakin's bandages on.

I looked around and found one surviving MedPack.

I grabbed it with my left hand after slinging Anakin over my shoulder.

I currently had a jump-pack on my back as usual and couldn't carry the backpack on my back.

However as I walked out I saw one of the clones dragging the two others.

Having seemingly fallen unconscious.

I cursed before walking up to him.

"Lucky, seems you are lucky after all. Hold this. I'll take Flash you take the other." I said as I threw him the MedPack.

I slung Flash over my shoulders, carrying both of them in a military carry strategy trained into all clones as I began running.

I heard Lucky right behind me.

I was strong than most others and I knew it. I spent a lot of time in the Clone Gyms and although I couldn't compare to the likes of Wrecker.

But I was still strong, and as such I could carry both of them, albeit I struggled a bit it was manageable.

Soon enough we reached the entrance and I jumped down as I saw Ahsoka, Aayla, Rex and Bly turn towards us.

Seeing Ahsoka already running towards us before we got out I supposed they were about to run in towards us.

I jumped down and ran to Rex and Bly.

They both took off the two men on my shoulders.

We laid them down just as the ship caught a serious fire and began exploding.

Luckily we were far enough away to avoid the entirety of the danger.

I sat down and breathed in hard.

The sprint, the adrenaline, the everything had taken it's toll.

After a few minutes the two other clones woke up and I began starting the fire.

30 minutes after the clash I saw the Jedi talk to each other.

Ahsoka was arguing with Aayla until she finally gave in.

I guess we're gonna be leaving soon.

I looked around to see that Hawk was unconscious, he was currently laying beside Anakin.

Apparently he had hit his head during the landing, and he was suffering from a mild physical trauma to the head.

But according to Lucky whom had some medical knowledge he would work it off by himself.

I heard footsteps approach me, however I remained in my crouching position, working on the growing fire to make it last longer.

"Lieutenant Vaughn, am I right?" I heard from behind me, considering his way of speaking it was likely Bly.

Lucky, Flash or Cameron wouldn't speak to me in a voice of command like that.

Rex knew my name and as such wouldn't ask.

I stood up and turned to Bly.

"Yes, sir. CT-0292, sir." I told him.

My helmet on my head as I stood Infront of him with both hands behind my back.

My DC15S on the ground.

"You're a great man Vaughn, continue with the good work." Bly said and I smiled under my helmet, but he wouldn't know.

"Thank you, Commander. Any clone would do the same." I told him with a stoic voice.

Wouldn't be good the get all gigilish over a small praise.

"General Secure and Commander Tano is mounting a expedition to find civilisation, Rex will remain with Anakin." Bly said and I nodded.

"Understood, approximate time of departure?" I asked Bly.

"2 minutes at best. Commander Tano is saying goodbye to General Skywalker." Bly said.

Sounds similar to the cannon.

I picked up my DC15S from the ground as I followed Bly to the rest of the guys.

We didn't speak much, these men were quite unknown to me.

They were Rex's men, apart of Torrent Company.

Soon after Aayla approached us and we waited for Ahsoka.

"Come on, let's go." Aayla said as we begun jogging towards the south.

Or the large trees.

After about 2 hours we stopped and began walking at normal pace.

Soon after Ahsoka and Aayla once again began talking about Jedi doings.

Mostly Ahsoka asking question and Aayla delivering her understanding of it.

The Jedi Code left a lot up to personal understanding; which I found dumb.

But other than that if my memory served me then Aayla Secure was a lot more knowledgeable of the Dark Side than most and were not the typical Jedi Knight.

As we walked under the tree we spread out to begin checking them.

Looking upwards I activated the single flashlight on my right helmet visor.

I saw a few pods hanging in the air, but they were a bit too loose.

And as it fell downwards I shouted.

"Bly, jump!" I shouted, but it would be too late.

As the pod of death slowly fell downwards, ready to smash any potential preys.

Bly saviour came in the form of a blue Twi'Lek Jedi beauty, lucky man.

Bly was thrown onto the ground with Aayla laying above him.

Lucky bastard I thought, but Ahsoka's mind was elsewhere.

"No wonder it's deserted. It's a death trap!" Ahsoka exclaimed as we got into the cover of the tree trunk.

"You'd have to be crazy to want to dodge those on a daily basis." Ahsoka exclaimed.

"Not like we doesn't dodge laser on a daily basis." I said and Bly chuckled.

Honestly didn't expect that of Bly, he seemed a bit to serious.

"It looks like someone or something was intelligent enough to drag those pods away." Aayla said as she pointed at the drag marks.

"All we have to do is follow the trail. Let's go!" Aayla concluded before we all ran off, following Aayla and Ahsoka at the front.

After 15 minutes of running we came into a large clearing, followed by the sounds of animal screeching.
