Chapter 21 – Levels Empower
All things considered, it seems that each Element of the Low-Grade has one single-target attack in the form of a ball, or spike in the case of Earth, and one defensive spell; fire has an extra two AOE Spells.
Of course, there may be others, since I have to randomly guess the Spell names--another thing I need to discuss with Roxanne when I buy her.
Low-Grade Water Magic didn’t have a healing Spell, and Low-Grade Air Magic didn’t have any form of movement or agility boosts--that I could find anyway.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be as many small rooms as the first floor, and with the speed I killed the Demons, they seemed to have slowed down their re-spawning--I guess, I should probably look for the boss?
The first objective, finding a way to deal with multiple Demons at once, is complete.
For now I will fight primarily with Magic, using Excalibur for Mana Regeneration. It gets a bit boring if I only one-hit kill; so unless things get dangerous I will use Magic.
Not using Excalibur at least allows me to feel like there is some threat, I don’t want to get too dependant on it; only to die if I need to fight somewhere people can see me and I can’t use Excalibur.
However, with my Level and Mana pool, I have to use Excalibur to recharge Mana; so I should probably get some Mana Potions.
Now, this may sound like a bad idea, since Excalibur virtually guarantees my life, at least on these floors--but, I can’t get overly dependant on it, for now. This isn’t just useless pride, so I will use it whenever I need to, especially to keep my life.
I keep Excalibur in my ring, where I can draw it at any time, and strap the Scimitar to my back. I keep my shield on my left arm, and wield my wand with my right--which looks a little silly, but it is useful.
Green Caterpillar - Lv15
I watched the Caterpillar for a moment, before using a single Fireball to draw the Demon towards me.
As it approaches, an orange Magic Circle appears underneath it. This time, I allow it to cast its Spell. However, as soon as it shoots the string at me--
Firewall!
The wall of fire appears out of thin air, blocking the space between the Green Caterpillar and I. The string lets out a soft crackling noise as it burns up. The Demon itself stays back from the flame, waiting for it to die down; as soon as the Firewall disperses, the Green Caterpillar charges at me.
Fire Storm!
The Demon dies, leaving a ball of thread.
So, the Demons are smart enough to not charge into the flame, but it can be used to block ranged attacks.
Good to know.
I still need to get enough money to buy Roxanne, and for that goal I need to get to a lower floor of the Dungeon as soon as possible.
Since I have Excalibur as backup, I will find my way to the next floor; I may be going down too quickly, but I shouldn’t die. I have Dungeon Gate and Warp as well.
I go hunting the few Demons that have re-spawned, to recover some Mana.

So, it seems that Explorer has increased by +3 Strength, possibly +1 every 5 levels?
Hero has some percentage and status changes.
Soldier has increases in statuses--and a new Skill called Shield Bash.
Wizard hasn’t changed much.
But those are some very good changes, I am pleased.
Shield Bash
Effect: Bash opponent with your shield--2 - 4 second stun.
Oh, nice--a stun attack.
It strikes me as weird, that I haven’t met anyone on the second floor, even though I had seen at least three parties go down yesterday. Could it be because the Demons here aren’t worthwhile? Or is the floor unliked?
Even the party before seemed to skip straight to the fourth--maybe the lower floors are better.
Well, I can understand it--Green Caterpillars would be annoying to anyone who isn’t a Mage.

My apologies for the short chapter--but this one was so badly written and redundant that I had to delete almost 70%, and add a lot of my own stuff. Here is where the MC decided not to use Excalibur and be a Mage--which with the broken system meant that the enemies were ridiculously hard (It was the start of the downfall of the combat system in the original)
I have fixed what I can, but please feel free to give ideas for changes if my system is also broken.
Since it is the second floor (and classes get advanced levels every 50 levels, so the level cap is high--combined with his decrease in required Exp to level, as well as increase in gained Exp per kill) he levels up fairly quickly
There is a cap per floor: Level 14 - Floor 1; Level 18 - Floor 2; Level 25 - Floor 3 (increase in difficulty); level 30 - Floor 4
