Chapter 351: Chapter 348.
Chapter 348.
Wang Feng wasn't completely certain about the exact effects of his domain, as he hadn't had the chance to test it yet. He remembered that Tang San also possessed the Blue Silver Domain obtained from the Blue Silver Emperor, though he wasn't sure if Tang San had already awakened it yet or not.
The Slaughter City itself was covered by a domain as well, but Wang Feng was unsure what kind of domain would form once all seven blood patterns of his Dark Angel martial soul were completed. He only knew it would be something immensely powerful.
When the first blood pattern appeared, enemies within a hundred-meter radius would enter a berserk state, their strength dropping as their emotions and control over their martial soul deteriorated. However, it could be resisted by those with a calm mind, so Wang Feng felt this was more of a unique aura than a true domain, as it primarily affected emotions, which people could suppress of they had great willpower.
True domains, however, were much harder to counter.
Over the past two years in the Slaughter City, Wang Feng had made tremendous progress with his Dark Angel martial soul and his Black Armored Thorn killing techniques, which had become his primary weapon. Now, he could control nearly twenty sharp blades formed by it with ease, and their range had increased to about eighty meters.
The more he trained, the more rapid his progress became. Yet, he felt there was a limit, about one hundred meters seemed to be the maximum range where his mental power could effectively control the blades formed by the Armored Black Thorns. Beyond that distance, he sensed he might lose control. This wasn't due to insufficient mental power, but rather a lack of refined control over it.
Despite his vast knowledge, Wang Feng wasn't entirely sure how to further enhance or compress his mental power. Unlike soul power, mental power had no formal cultivation method. It grew naturally, without much means of refinement. And, without the aid of his Meteoric Tear, compressing or purifying his soul power would have been practically impossible. Mental power was even more elusive.
As he pondered these mysteries, Wang Feng found himself concerned about Tang San and Hu Liena. The final match had been delayed for weeks, and they hadn't made any appearances in that time–. The pace of the competitions had slowed to a crawl, with only two or three matches –a month, and sometimes only one.
He thought back to Tang San's 95th match. Tang San had nearly lost control over his killing intent, his emotions teetering on the edge, but he had managed to stabilize himself just in time. Hu Liena, too, was also close to her limit. Both of them had likely killed tens of thousands of people by now — a mind-boggling number for any soul master of mainland to bear.
Wang Feng had used his Black Armored Thorns to dispatch enemies from a distance, keeping himself emotionally detached from the act of killing and also he is not affected by the karma of killing others because of his tempering of his body by Red Lotus Karmic Fire.
But for Tang San and Hu Liena, who faced their enemies directly, the accumulated killing intent weighed heavily on their minds and soul.
"The Great Slaughter King's plan is working," Wang Feng thought grimly.
It wasn't just about strength, the real challenge was maintaining control over the overwhelming killing intent that enveloped them. The Slaughter City's atmosphere itself was enough to drive even the most composed individuals to madness if they stayed too long. The more a person killed, the easier it was for their mind to be consumed by bloodlust and madness.
Wang Feng's ability to remain calm in such an environment was unique. His body, tempered by the Red Lotus Karmic Fire, naturally exuded an aura of purity, something that stood out in this dark and oppressive atmosphere of the Slaughter City. This purity drew attention not only from the women but from many of the powerful figures in the city as well.
No matter how much Wang –Feng tried to suppress his aura, it was futile. His body, tempered by the Red Lotus Karmic Fire, had become almost like a force of nature, impossible to conceal. This was the result even with him covering himself entirely. Wang Feng knew that if he removed his mask and revealed even a hint of his appearance, the people around him would likely lose control and rush at him regardless of the gender.
After all, it's hard to avoid such attention when someone looks as good as he does.
Some were even willing to become his servants, to stay by his side as slaves, all in hopes that the pure aura radiating from his body could suppress the boiling and overwhelming killing intent within theirs. Of course, Wang Feng refused.
–He didn't need servants. Not when he possessed –the Black Armored Thorn.
In fact, there was another method to calm those who couldn't suppress their killing intent—a drink called Bloody Mary, made from human blood. Drinking it could slightly suppress the bloodlust raging inside them, but the drink was a slow poison. The more one drank, the more addicted they became, eventually unable to live without it. Wang Feng had already figured out what that would lead to.
Neither Tang San nor Hu Liena had ever touched the stuff. They understood the dangers. Drinking that blood might offer temporary relief, but the cost would be far too great to bear in the long run.
"Today should be the last one, right?" Wang Feng mused quietly to himself.
He stepped outside, the air thick with decay. Clad in white robes, he moved with an ethereal grace, a faint glow surrounding him. The Black Armored Thorn, in the form of short blades, rotated and hovered slowly around him protectively.
As soon as he exited his dwelling, several men and women rushed toward him, halting more than ten meters away. They knelt, their bodies trembling, eyes filled with a desperate, bloodshot red.
"White Death… please, accept us! We'll give everything we have in the Slaughter City, as long as you let us stay by your side! Just three meters... no, even five meters away would be enough!"
Their voices dripped with desperation. These people had lived in the Slaughter City for over a decade and were now on the brink of collapse. The fleeting pleasures they indulged in no longer quelled the killing intent raging inside them. They had consumed endless amounts of Bloody Mary, and yet it barely made a difference anymore.
Wang Feng didn't even glance at them. He had seen this scene countless times before.
As he walked away, the panting of those behind him grew more erratic. Then, like wild animals, they began to fight amongst themselves, their fury spiraling out of control until they collapsed in the street, their bodies lifeless.
This was the inevitable fate for the lost souls of the Slaughter City.
Even if they managed to avoid being killed by others, they could not escape this end.
Wang Feng arrived at the Hell's Killing Fields. Before he even entered, several spectators rushed out, their faces pale with fear.
As soon as he stepped inside, a frown creased Wang Feng's brow. The stench of blood was overwhelming.
Inside, Tang San and Hu Liena were like two demonic shadows, cutting a swath through their opponents with terrifying ferocity. Their eyes gleamed a deep, pure red, and the killing intent around them had become so intense it seemed to take on physical form. They slaughtered anyone who came within their sight.
The two hadn't encountered each other yet, as the Hell's Killing Fields were vast and filled with many people. Screams and cries echoed throughout the arena. Many of those now lying dead were mere spectators, unlucky enough to have been caught in the frenzy as Tang San and Hu Liena rampaged across the battlefield.
Wang Feng took one glance and knew immediately what had happened. The two must have just finished a match, their killing intent having spiraled out of control.
Wang Feng wasn't sure how many people Tang San and Hu Liena had killed in the original story, but it couldn't have been as many as now.
Tens of thousands of bodies—this was no exaggeration.
