Shut Up Dragon! I Don't Want To Have Children With You Anymore

Chapter 19: Chapter 19: The Other Daughter

Leon's mind raced. There could only be one explanation for this.

"No way... Not only was it a one-shot knockout, but... a double hit?" he murmured, swallowing hard.

Leon's thoughts drifted back to a few days ago.

It was his first day playing with Luna. He remembered walking down the corridors of the palace when he had come across a little girl who looked exactly like Luna—except her expression was stone cold. The girl had given him one look before running off.

Later, during lunch, he encountered her again—the "cooler version" of Luna. This time, they'd exchanged a few words, though the conversation had been... less than warm.

At the time, he thought maybe his two-year nap had left him foggy or that Luna had developed a split personality. But now it dawned on him: that other girl wasn't Luna.

She was his other daughter.

"So, Luna, are you saying... you have an younger sister?" he asked carefully.

Luna shook her head. "Not a younger sister, Daddy—a big sister."

Leon blinked. "And... her name is?"

"Noah!" Luna beamed. "Mommy said it's named after a hero from our dragon clan's legends who saved the world."

"Noah…" Leon repeated, tasting the name thoughtfully. He had to admit, Rossweise had a certain flair for naming.

With a name like Noah, she had clearly placed high hopes on the older girl, wanting her to grow into someone as strong and legendary as the hero from their myths. And Luna—gentle and bright, named after the Luna itself—was her treasured jewel.

"Alright then, shall we practice writing your sister's name?" he asked.

"Yes! Daddy, please write it first so I can copy it."

"Of course."

Leon picked up the pen, carefully writing "Noah K. Melkvei" on a blank sheet of paper in a clean, steady hand.

"Wow, Daddy! That's so pretty!" Luna looked up at him, her eyes sparkling with admiration.

Leon chuckled. "You'll be able to write just as beautifully soon, too."

"Daddy, can I keep this one? I want to show it to my sister tonight! She'll definitely love it."

"Sure, sweetie. But, uh, about your sister… she doesn't seem very friendly with me. Is she… difficult to get along with?"

Leon couldn't help but recall their previous two encounters—Noah had either run away from him or responded with icy indifference. She clearly wasn't as warm and outgoing as Luna.

Luna tilted her head. "No, not at all. My sister's the best. She takes me to pick fruit, helps me do my hair, and when I get in trouble, she even takes the blame for me—Oh! But Daddy, don't tell Mommy about that dress. It was me who got it dirty…"

She gave his hand a little squeeze, her eyes pleading.

Leon ruffled her hair with a smile. "Don't worry, I'll keep your secret."

"Thank you, Daddy~"

"So Noah's actually very nice, right?" Leon asked, feeling a bit relieved.

"Mm-hmm. I think she was just a bit shy around you," Luna replied with an innocent nod.

Leon let out a breath, feeling his nerves settle. So, Noah's cold behavior toward him was just from being unfamiliar, nothing more. For a moment, he had feared he might have a mini-Rossweise to contend with.

'One stubborn dragon queen is already more than I can handle; if I had a little one too, I'd have jumped from the palace tower by now.'

Now that he understood, his mischievous side couldn't help but resurface. By the time Rossweise visited him that evening, he had a few things planned.

"Daddy, why are you smiling like that?" Luna asked curiously.

"Nothing, sweetie. Let's keep practicing your sister's name, alright?"

"Okay!"

Luna spent the afternoon practicing her writing with Leon. Thanks to her natural talent, it didn't take long before she had mastered not only her name but her parents' names and Noah's as well. Each was written in neat, delicate handwriting that Leon couldn't help but be proud of.

That night, Rossweise finally arrived in Leon's room after a long day of managing affairs.

"Mother!" Luna squealed, rushing over to hug her mother's leg. She looked up with sparkling eyes and greeted her, "Good evening, Mother."

Rossweise reached down to pat her head. "Good evening, Luna. Did you learn to write your name today?"

Luna's face lit up with pride. "I did! And I learned how to write Daddy's and your names too."

"Well done," Rossweise said, giving her daughter a slight nod of approval.

Luna pouted just a little. "It was really hard, though. I worked all afternoon to learn them."

Leon, who was reclining against the bed, couldn't help but speak up, "She really did work hard. Maybe you could give her a bit more praise?"

Rossweise glanced at him, noticing the unusually smug look on his face. It was as though he was hiding some sort of ace up his sleeve.

But rather than pursue it, she looked back at Luna, who was all but begging for more praise.

Crouching down, Rossweise gently held Luna's shoulders, smiling as she said, "You've done a wonderful job, Luna. As a reward, I'll make you your favorite grilled steak tonight. How does that sound?"

"Yay! Mommy's steak is the best."

Leon arched a brow, muttering with a smirk, "Didn't take you for the domestic type."

"And why are you just lounging there, Leon?" she shot back.

Leon shrugged, his hands out in a relaxed pose. "You told me to teach her to write, and I did. So why can't I take a break?"

"Just because you said so doesn't mean I'll take your word for it. Luna, come here and write those names for me."

Luna eagerly hopped onto the chair, took a piece of blank paper, and carefully began writing the names one by one.

Rossweise watched with mild surprise as Luna's writing turned out to be not only neat but also quite elegant. It was clear that Leon had genuinely put in the effort to teach her well.

As she stood there, watching her daughter, Leon came over to stand beside her, a rare sight that almost made them look like a married couple reviewing their child's progress.

"Done!" Luna announced, setting the paper down with the names all lined up in a neat row.

Rossweise nodded approvingly. "Well done, Luna. Now, let's—"

"Wait, Luna," Leon interrupted, pretending to look puzzled. "Aren't we missing someone?"

"Oh, right! We are missing one."

Rossweise's expression instantly turned icy. She shot Leon a look, noticing the satisfied grin on his face.

"If we're writing all our family names, we should make sure it's complete. A real family is together, right, Luna?"

"Daddy's right!" Luna chirped.

"Then, let's write down Noah's name too."

"Okay!"

Watching her daughter and Leon's synchronized exchange, Rossweise narrowed her eyes. "Noah… So, Luna already told you?"

Finally given the opportunity he'd been waiting for, Leon nodded with exaggerated innocence. "Yes, she did. Honestly, I feel so guilty. I've been awake for nearly a week now and only just learned my eldest daughter's name."

Rossweise stayed silent, simply watching him with that icy gaze, as though challenging him to continue.

"And Rossweise," Leon went on, placing a hand over his heart, "I owe you an apology as well."

"Oh? An apology?" She raised a brow, a hint of amusement flickering in her eyes.

"Giving birth is no small feat," he said dramatically. "And not just one child, but two. I can't imagine the struggle. One day, when I return to the Empire, I'll ensure your name is recorded in our family's genealogy, Rossweise."

If he was going to provoke her, he might as well go all out. There was no reason to hold back if the outcome was going to be the same anyway.

As he met her gaze, he sensed she was close to losing her composure. Leon decided to strike while the iron was hot.

"Speaking of which, Rossweise… You never brought this up before. Could it be you're so amazed by my stamina and endurance that you forgot?"

She showed no sign of reacting to the jab but replied coolly, "All of this, Leon, is for your own good."

"For my own good?"

"Of course."

Leon scoffed. "I have two amazing daughters. What more could I possibly want? So… when will I get to meet Noah formally?"

Rossweise gave him a sly smile. "Are you that eager?"

"Well, I want to see my daughter, of course."

"Very well, then. Just remember, you asked for this."

Leon's eyes lit up with anticipation, 'Eager? I'm beyond eager, Mother Dragon. Bring her on!'

Rossweise arranged a family dinner that night.
