Hmm… this might actually be a bit of a problem.

 
 
According to what I sensed through my angel’s halo, the pregnant woman is the child’s mother, and the man standing protectively in front of her is likely the father. Both of them seem to possess significant hidden power—what we’d call “abilities”—but should I intervene?

 
 
As I pondered, the fetus in my arms continued to squirm violently.

 
 
“There, there. No matter what happens, your papa and mama will be just fine—I promise~”

Saying that and gently rocking the child calmed the squirming a little. …So cute.
 
 

Still, even though I said that… I’ve actually never been in a fight before. I know I’ve got the specs to handle anything, but will I really be okay?
 
 

…Oh? Looks like something’s happening outside. Let’s see…
 
 
“GRAAAAAAAHHHH!!!”

The beast had apparently lost its patience. It opened its jaws wide and leapt toward the father, aiming to sink its fangs into him. The father, tense but composed, opened his mouth.
 
 

“〈Ability Boost〉”
The moment he spoke, power surged through his body. Lowering his stance, he grabbed the beast’s gnashing jaws mid-leap, driving his feet into the ground and hurling the creature away.
 

 
“HUUURAAAGH!!”
“GAHHHH!?!”

Whoa… Papa’s got some real strength. Ah, he threw it again.
 
 

Even so, with his pregnant wife behind him, he was clearly struggling. He wasn’t attacking—only defending—and his ability was rapidly draining his stamina. At this rate, he’d be at his limit in a few minutes.
 
 

There didn’t seem to be anyone nearby who could help. Looks like I should step in after all.
I can’t interfere with the outside world from within my own space, so I’d need to go out as a spirit form…
 

 
While I hesitated, the strong papa was clearly being pushed back, and the fetus in my arms was wriggling more and more.
 

 
“Sheesh… Fine. Just hold on a moment, okay?”
I conjured a ~Nоvеl𝕚ght~ cradle and gently placed the fetus inside, then donned my formal angelic attire. I spread my wings and halo wide, and teleported above the heads of the couple.

 
 
The first thing I saw: the beast’s front leg was raised high, about to slam the father into the ground.

Alright… first things first—
 
 

“〈Protection〉”
“!?“
“GAAH?!”
The creature’s massive limb struck an invisible force field I summoned in front of the father. It rebounded off with a thud, sending the beast off balance. The father gasped in shock.

 
 
“Grrrrrr…”

The beast growled, clearly confused, looking around frantically.
It was wide open—time to end this.
 

 
“〈Destruction〉”
“GUUURGH!”

By using my halo to scan the beast’s internal structure, I twisted and ruptured its vital organs. The monster coughed up blood and collapsed.
Splurt!
 

 
The beast hit the ground with a pathetic sound, dying right in front of the utterly bewildered parents. As I approached the battered father, the two of them finally noticed me and stared as if they were seeing something unreal.
 

 
“W-Who are you…?”
Seeing the father still protectively shielding his wife, even in his confusion, reassured me that they were good people.

I raised my hand gently.
 
 

“Wh-What are you…?”
“〈Healing〉”
I raised their regenerative abilities to the limit and transferred the necessary energy. Their wounds closed rapidly, and I confirmed via my halo that there were no internal issues either.

 
 
…Alright, combat mission complete! Time to head back and rest!

 
 
I averted my eyes from the still-confused couple as they looked at their healed bodies in disbelief. I stepped back a bit and teleported back to my private space.

 
 
“Phew… Working after so long really does tire you out…”

I dismissed my formal attire and switched into something more relaxed, folding away my wings. Looking into the cradle, I saw that the fetus had calmed down.
 
 

“Mama and Papa are safe now~”
As I said this and gently rocked the cradle, the baby’s wrinkled little face seemed to twitch into the tiniest of smiles.
 

 
…So cute~! What a little angel!
