Senior Sister, Shut Up!

Chapter 152: Senior Sister Says She's Tired and Needs to Rest

Six second-year seniors, five of which were girls, had come. And among the first-years of the debate team, two girls had brought their boyfriends.

Altogether, over twenty people gathered in the rental house. After grabbing snacks, they split up into various entertainment rooms or stayed in the living room to play board games, arcade games, or try their luck at the claw machine.

Su Huaizhou pulled Jiang Miao to join her, Wang Xin, and Song Huanhuan for an afternoon of mahjong.

“I won.” Jiang Miao picked up a nine of circles tile, completing the set of four in his hand, and revealed his tiles

As the dealer, his win was a big one, and each of the other three people at the table owed him 32 chips.

Su Huaizhou stared at his tiles for several seconds, looking for any mistakes. Finally, she sighed in defeat and slumped back in her chair. “You boys are too much. Huanhuan and I haven’t won a single game!”

“Senior Sister, luck isn’t the same for everyone. You should face reality.” Jiang Miao smiled as he pressed the automatic mahjong table’s button to sweep the tiles into the machine. “Besides, when I win, it’s like you win. Same difference.”

“I’m done playing.” Su Huaizhou leaned back, got up, and dusted off her pants. She glanced at the time and said, “It’s almost four. We need to start preparing dinner.”

“We’re not ordering delivery?” He stood up and followed her out. “And we bought a lot of snacks earlier too.”

“Dinner is up to everyone. Order delivery if you want, or cook something yourself,” she said as she grabbed Jiang Miao’s arm. She leaned close to his ear and whispered, “I want stir-fried pork~”

“I don’t really feel like cooking… I still have a chapter to write today.” Jiang Miao yawned, wanting to find time to sneak upstairs with his laptop to find a quiet room and finish the assignment Senior Sister had given him.

What was so fun about a rental house anyway?

Would it be as fun as Senior Sister’s swimsuit?

Right now, all he wanted to do was fast-forward to tomorrow night and head straight home with Senior Sister.

“Make it for me, please? We can go grocery shopping together.” Su Huaizhou’s voice became even softer. “Or I’ll chat with Ding Ning later and recommend your novel to all the girls on the team.”

Jiang Miao: “???”

Soft tactics didn’t work, so you’re using threats?

You’re going too far!

Feeling a toothache, Jiang Miao reluctantly gave in. He grabbed Su Huaizhou and headed to the nearby supermarket to buy groceries.

After Jiang Miao and Su Huaizhou left the mahjong room, Wang Xin didn’t bother to go out and join the others in their games. Instead, he stayed behind and played a few rounds of mahjong solitaire with Song Huanhuan.

When they got bored, Sun Yumeng happened to come in looking for players for a board game. She roped in Song Huanhuan, leaving Wang Xin alone in the room to rest.

Feeling idle, Wang Xin opened his phone, planning to watch a few instructional videos to unwind.

But before he even started, his fingers instinctively tapped open the Xidian app and brought up My Girlfriend Is a Content Creator.

He had just finished the part where the male lead’s birthday ended. After he teased his young nephew and dealt with a scene involving his devilish aunt, the male and female leads had returned to their apartment in Shanghai.

He glanced at the remaining chapters. There were still seventy to eighty chapters to go, plenty to keep him entertained.

Wang Xin used to think that relationships were simply boys pursuing girls, or rather, boys pleasing girls in exchange for physical rewards.

It sounded crude, but that seemed to be the reality of it.

It was just wrapped up in a beautiful package called love.

Strip away the packaging, and relationships didn’t seem to have anything worthwhile.

Even solving a few math problems gave him more satisfaction.

In fact, even cleaning—turning a filthy floor into a spotless, shining surface—felt far more fulfilling than being in a relationship.

That was why, on the night of the first-year debate competition celebration, after everyone had eaten and gone home, when Song Huanhuan asked him to stay and confessed under the shade of a tree, Wang Xin had turned her down without hesitation.

He had told her he had no plans to start a relationship for the time being.

At the time, he thought rejecting her would mean he’d avoid the trouble of relationships altogether.

But after Song Huanhuan stopped showing up around him, Wang Xin gradually realized that love wasn’t something you could avoid by simply not engaging in it.

At first, he figured it was just a matter of time before he got used to it. Life and studies would quickly return to normal.

But coincidentally, Wang Xin discovered his roommate secretly writing a novel.

Curious, he took a peek, but this little glimpse turned into an unintended deep dive. Before he knew it, he was completely hooked.

Through the novel, Wang Xin discovered that relationships weren’t just about physical intimacy. The dynamic between a couple was more like a catalyst for mutual growth.

While he wasn’t sure if his understanding was correct, Jiang Miao’s novel offered him a fresh perspective on relationships.

A life alone could certainly be rich and fulfilling, but a life shared with another person had its own unique beauty.

It wasn’t about choosing one way of living over the other. It was about experiencing the scenery on both paths to make a choice that truly fit your future.

That was why Wang Xin wasn’t just reading this book for leisure or entertainment. He was studying it seriously, unlike most casual readers.

“What are you looking at?” Song Huanhuan’s curious voice came from behind, her head already resting on Wang Xin’s shoulder.

Startled by the sudden voice, Wang Xin’s hand twitched instinctively, but he wasn’t fast enough to close the app.

As a result, Song Huanhuan saw a few lines.

[Seeing that Jiang Qiu didn’t react, he moved up a little further.

… And then a little more.

… Until his fingertips lightly touched the edge.

At this moment, Jiang Qiu’s body trembled slightly.]

Just these few lines sent shockwaves through Song Huanhuan’s eyes, as if she had seen an unreal Wang Xin suddenly appear in front of her.

Realizing that his extracurricular relationship coaching had been exposed, Wang Xin decided there was no point in hiding it anymore. Instead, he composed himself and calmly finished the chapter he was reading.

“Hmm?” Wang Xin replied calmly, “I’m reading a novel.”

“Is, is…” Is this a proper novel? Song Huanhuan really wanted to ask but didn’t.

Moreover, judging from the app’s interface, it seemed pretty official, not like one of those questionable sites.

She glanced at the title at the top of the screen—My Girlfriend Is a Content Creator. Her mouth dropped open. It’s really a romance novel?!

Song Huanhuan looked as though she had seen a ghost. She turned to look at Wang Xin’s fair profile and then back at the screen, feeling like she was in a dream.

Her boyfriend, who was practically a stone when it came to emotions, was secretly reading this kind of novel?!

Song Huanhuan felt her inner image of her cold and aloof boyfriend was showing signs of crumbling.

Then she asked, “Is it good?”

“Yeah, it’s pretty good.” Wang Xin nodded and then hesitated. After pondering for a moment, he added, “If you’re interested, you can read it too.”

As long as no one knows it’s my roommate writing this novel, helping to promote it won’t hurt, right? Wang Xin thought.

It was really like—he left after the work was done, keeping his contributions and name to himself.

Jiang Miao didn’t know that he had just gained another familiar reader. After grocery shopping with Senior Sister, he entered the kitchen and started cooking.

The rental house had rice, and since the others were planning to order delivery, he only made enough for two.

When everyone gathered in the living room to eat their delivery, they were surprised to see Su Huaizhou smiling as she brought out a dish and soup to the dining table.

Sun Yumeng smelled the aroma and immediately widened her eyes and wrinkled her nose to sniff. She said in surprise, “Senior Sister Su, you can cook? Aren’t you too virtuous?!”

“…” Jiang Miao, who had just scooped out some rice and was walking out with the bowls, heard this, and his face immediately darkened. “Sorry, I made it.”

Sun Yumeng: “?!”

Not only Sun Yumeng, but even the other teammates turned their heads, all looking surprised.

After all, Jiang Miao was infamous within the team for being the king of slacking off. Aside from being forced to go on stage once in the first-year competition, he hadn’t participated in a single match of the subsequent Magnificence Cup.

Otherwise, with Jiang Miao’s skills, paired with Wang Xin, the Magnificence Cup might have been a crushing victory.

But no one could have guessed that the team’s slacker could actually cook.

Not only did he know how to cook, but he even cooked here himself?!

But when Su Huaizhou sat down, grabbed her bowl and chopsticks, and took a bite of the stir-fried pork, showing a blissful expression, everyone understood.

With the beautiful Senior Sister Zhouzhou waiting to be fed, no matter how lazy someone was, they would be moved, right?

If Jiang Miao knew what they were thinking, he would probably roll his eyes.

If not for Senior Sister’s constant coaxing and pestering, he wouldn’t have bothered cooking. He would have just wanted to finish writing and go to her place as soon as possible.

So after dinner and everyone scattered to do their own things, Jiang Miao quietly took out his laptop, slipped upstairs, and entered the smallest room he found.

The room was tiny, with just a single bed against the wall.

Jiang Miao placed the pillow on the floor, sat down by the bed, and opened his laptop on the bed, preparing to work for an hour to finish writing today’s 1,500 words.

Meanwhile, when Su Huaizhou finished washing the dishes and came out of the kitchen, she walked around the first floor but didn’t see Jiang Miao. She was then pulled by some junior sisters to sing for a while.

When she slipped out of the karaoke room and found Jiang Miao’s backpack in the living room, with the laptop missing, she guessed what he was doing.

Taking advantage of the fact that no one was paying attention to her, she quickly went upstairs and found the only room with a closed door. She twisted the handle but found it locked, so she knocked.

Knock, knock, knock.

“W-who is it?” Jiang Miao asked nervously.

At least half of the people at this gathering had read his novel. If any of them found out that Peach Jam was actually him, he would never be able to go back to school.

“It’s me. Open the door.” Su Huaizhou’s voice came.

Hearing Senior Sister’s voice, Jiang Miao finally relaxed. He got up from the pillow, moved to the door, and opened it.

The door slowly creaked open. She looked inside and found that he hadn’t even bothered to turn on the lights. Everything was dark except for the faint glow of the laptop screen.

Anyone who didn’t know might think that Jiang Miao was up to something suspicious in the room.

“How much have you written?” Su Huaizhou squeezed into the room, locked the door behind her, and went over to the screen.

“Almost one chapter.” Jiang Miao quickly blocked the screen, not letting her see the content.

“Once you finish writing and upload it, won’t I still be able to read it?”

“That’s different!” Jiang Miao argued and turned the laptop away from her. “Senior Sister, be good. Just wait for me to finish.”

“Then hurry up. How many words have you written so far?” Su Huaizhou plopped down on the bed and rolled over.

Seeing Senior Sister’s soft body sink into the bed, her feet wrapped in white socks with her delicate ankles showing as they dangled beside him, Jiang Miao shifted his gaze and looked at the word count.

420.

“Um… almost 750 words,” Jiang Miao said guiltily.

“Then I’ll take a nap first.” Su Huaizhou felt a little sleepy after lying on the bed, so she simply pulled the blanket over and curled up under it. She turned around and moved her head towards the foot of the bed, nearer to Jiang Miao. “Keep going.”

Seeing Senior Sister tuck her feet under the blanket, Jiang Miao felt a bit disappointed. But once he saw that she had closed her eyes to sleep, he lowered the screen brightness and got back to writing.

“Hey, where did Senior Sister Su go?” Sun Yumeng, feeling bored, wandered around the first floor and noticed that Su Huaizhou was missing.

Song Huanhuan, who was playing board games with Wang Xin and other team members, replied casually, “I saw her go upstairs just now. What’s up?”

“Oh, we wanted to play Mafia, but there aren’t enough people. We were thinking of asking Senior Sister and Jiang Miao to join.”

“What about the others?”

“They’re all playing other games and aren’t free.”

“Then go upstairs and ask.”

“I’m going.” Sun Yumeng walked towards the stairs in her slippers but stopped halfway and turned back.

“What’s wrong?” Song Huanhuan asked, puzzled.

“Ahem.” Sun Yumeng seemed a little embarrassed. She leaned close to Song Huanhuan’s ear and whispered, “Why do you think Jiang Miao and Senior Sister Su went upstairs? Could it be that?”

Song Huanhuan’s face turned bright red. “H-how is that possible… You’re overthinking it…”

“I’m just worried about disturbing them… If they’re, you know, it’d be so awkward!” Sun Yumeng said, distressed.

“Senior Sister isn’t that kind of person.” Song Huanhuan thought about it seriously. “If she really wanted to do something like that, there’s no way it would be now.”

“That’s true.” Sun Yumeng nodded and went upstairs.

As soon as she reached the second floor, she could faintly hear the voices of Senior Sister and Jiang Miao coming from the only closed door.

“Junior Brother, are you done yet?” Su Huaizhou’s sleepy and lazy voice floated out.

“Not yet. Senior Sister, can you endure a little longer?”

“Hurry up~ How long has it been?” Su Huaizhou complained weakly, sounding exhausted. “It’s been over half an hour, and you’re still not done?”

“Almost done. Senior Sister, just lie down a bit longer.”

“You’re so slow. Be careful. Someone might come up and find out,” Su Huaizhou reminded. “I’m so hot.”

“I’m almost done, just a bit more.”

“Come on, hurry up. Since you stopped this morning, I’ve been enduring it for so long.”

“I’ll give it to you right away.”

“This isn’t enough.”

“Senior Sister, you have to learn to find a balance between patience and enjoyment, or else you’ll drain me dry sooner or later.” Jiang Miao sighed. “My young body won’t be able to handle it anymore.”

“Stop talking, just hurry up,” Su Huaizhou urged.

Standing at the top of the stairs, Sun Yumeng didn’t dare to get any closer to the door. She blinked and gulped, her eyes blank with shock. Then this shock spread from her pupils like seismic waves.

T-too embarrassing!

Senior Sister Su… The gentle, polite, graceful Senior Sister Su… is actually like this behind closed doors…

Sun Yumeng’s mouth hung slightly open, her body rigid, her mind spinning.

The plots of countless romance novels she’d read in the past combined and merged in her mind, weaving a chapter unique to Senior Sister Su.

Sun Yumeng only felt a dryness in her throat as she silently retreated towards the stairs. Step by step, she quietly made her way back to the living room on the first floor.

Seeing her come down alone, Song Huanhuan asked in confusion, “Where are Senior Sister and Jiang Miao?”

“Um… Senior Sister said she was tired and needed to rest.” Sun Yumeng forced a smile, her lips twitching slightly. She felt like the door to the adult world had just opened for her.
