Chapter 38: Talking to a Rabbit
40 minutes had passed, and Oscar at this point was just had enough, during this 40 minutes, the thing with Weiss has repeat, just this time with Blake, Yang and Ruby, then he had too take them to private room.
As he just sigehd. "By the Silver Maiden, is the someone who is sober like me, I just saw Yang black flip into a tree".
"I am sober".
Osacr then saw Velvet as he just sighed looking at her. "Thank all the gods".
Velvet stood there with a calm smile, her arms crossed as she leaned against the wall. "Looks like you're having a bit of a rough time," she said, a glimmer of amusement in her eyes.
Oscar gave a weary grin. "You have no idea. I swear, if one more person falls over or starts making out with me in a drunken haze, I'm calling it quits and going home."
Velvet chuckled lightly. "I'm sure they didn't mean any harm. You're just the one everyone looks to when things go wrong. Comes with the hero complex, right?"
Oscar rubbed his forehead. "I guess so. But seriously, Velvet, I could use some help. This whole night has turned into a chaotic mess, and I'm not even sure how to handle it anymore."
Velvet pushed off the wall and walked over to him, her presence a welcome relief amidst the chaos. "Alright, I'll help you out. It's not easy, but someone's gotta take charge."
Oscar sighed in relief. "Thank you. I was starting to feel like I was losing my mind with all the drunk teammates running around. You've no idea how many times I've had to pick up Ruby off the floor or stop Yang from jumping into trees."
Velvet smiled sympathetically. "I can imagine. Let's just make sure they all get to their rooms and get some sleep. Tomorrow's a new day, and they'll probably forget all this by then anyway."
"Yeah, probably," Oscar muttered, though the concern still lingered in his eyes. "I just hope they don't remember the kiss Weiss gave me. I'm not sure if she was just caught up in the moment, but it felt… a little too real."
Velvet raised an eyebrow. "So, you're telling me Weiss kissed you while completely out of it? That's a new one."
Oscar rubbed the back of his neck. "I mean, I didn't exactly ask for it. She just kind of... grabbed me and did it. But you know how it is. Alcohol makes people do things they might regret later."
Velvet chuckled softly. "True. Well, at least you didn't make a move back. That would've made things awkward. Just remember, if she asks you about it tomorrow, play it cool. Tell her she was just a little tipsy and that you're happy to help her out."
Oscar chuckled, shaking his head. "I guess that's the safest way to go about it."
The two of them worked together, getting everyone into their rooms and making sure no one else wandered off or got into trouble. Velvet proved to be a calming presence, helping Oscar keep things under control. As they finished, Oscar collapsed into a chair, completely drained.
"Thanks, Velvet," he said, exhaustion creeping into his voice. "I don't know what I would've done without you."
Velvet smiled warmly. "No problem. Sometimes you just need a little help, and I'm happy to provide it."
Oscar glanced around the now-quiet bar. "I never thought a night out would turn into something like this. Maybe next time we can just stick to something simpler."
"Next time?" Velvet teased. "I don't think they'll let you off that easy. You're part of the team now, and that means you get to deal with the chaos—just like the rest of us."
Oscar sighed but couldn't help but smile. "I suppose so. But for tonight, I'm just glad it's over."
Velvet nodded. "Get some rest. You've earned it."
Oscar nodded in agreement, and as Velvet left to check on her team, he finally allowed himself to relax, knowing that for once, the chaos had been handled—and that tomorrow, he could look forward to a calmer, more sane day.
As the night came to end, as then everyone started to make to there private room in the bar, as Oscar walked up to him, as Velvet stopped his hand.
Oscar looked at her and spoke. "Do you need something".
Velvet slimed as she spoke. "You very cute Oscar, and will hope you find the girl you like I hope who they (Me) are they will happy with you".
She then walked into her room, as Oscar was just there. "What is tonight, dating simulator".
Ding!
[Skill has levels up- skill Kissing level - 5]
Oscar stood there in stunned silence for a moment, staring at the notification in his system. He could feel the heat rising in his cheeks as he processed what had just happened. Velvet's words lingered in his mind, and the fact that his skill level had just increased—of all things—only made things more embarrassing.
He sighed, muttering under his breath, "Dating simulator... really?"
He stood there, feeling a mixture of confusion and frustration. "What's next? Is this some kind of cosmic joke I'm being forced into?"
The system, of course, didn't provide any answers. Instead, it just sat there, mocking him with its silent presence. Oscar rubbed his temples, trying to shake off the awkwardness. His night had already been far more eventful than he ever wanted, and now this? It was like everything in his life was suddenly shifting into a bizarre, uncharted territory.
"Well," he muttered to himself, "I guess I should get to sleep. It's not like I can change anything now." He looked back at the hallway leading to the rooms. The night had certainly been full of surprises, and he knew that tomorrow, there would probably be even more.
As he walked toward his own room, he couldn't help but feel an odd mix of exhaustion and curiosity. He didn't know what to make of Velvet's comment or the strange power-up the system had just given him. The last thing he expected was for his night to turn into a sequence of romance-comedy tropes, but that's where he was.
Reaching his room, Oscar entered and collapsed onto the bed, the day's events swirling around in his mind. Before he could get too comfortable, the system gave another ping.
Ding!
[Skill Kissing Level - 5 unlocked new ability: "Embrace of Heart" - A skill that allows a deeper connection through physical contact.]
Oscar groaned. "I really hate you."
Despite his frustrations, his exhaustion took over, and he drifted off to sleep. Tomorrow was a new day, and he had no idea what fresh chaos or adventure would come his way. All he could hope for was a little peace—at least until the next odd thing happened.
For now, though, he was done with the wild night. At least, he hoped it was over.
The next day had comes and with how Oscar had put them in there room, was will something, Jaune and Pyrrha woke and sense they were in the same bed, will this was something, Nora and Ren woke as they were wearing nothing, yeah it was clear what these two did, they started a relationship that day, Ruby, Weiss, Yang and Blake woke with headaches, as for Weiss she wanted to dye as she Rembers the kiss, she hopes Oscar was drunk as well so he wouldn't remember it.
When rrh ground was leaving, both Melanie and Mitia had winked at him and told him to come back, so he had a few conversations with them and danced with them, but how
Later in the dome, as Yang downed another bottle of Water, as the whole Team do Team ROWBY was in there dorm room, Oscar then put on the table, food he make, it was Burgers.
Oscar looked at them as he spoke. "This is help you all".
He then puts fries as well for them, Weiss was a bit confused do to her upbringing she had no idea how to eat a Burger, so she did like she always does ate with a fork and knife, which Oscar felt like she triggers so many people, Yang went ham in her food, Blake are more slowly and Ruby did what can only be described as inhaling the Burger and Fries.
He also she Katsudon for them as well, and just watched
Ding!
[Host has gotten +5 to Charism]
Ding!
[Host have gotten a +20 to team synergy]
Ding!
[Host have gotten a +20 to team synergy]
Osacr just sighed and close his system, as he saw his team finally cooling down.
Oscar watched as his team enjoyed the food, each of them reacting in their own way. Weiss, holding her fork and knife, looked like she was carefully dissecting the burger, clearly uncertain about the whole "eating with your hands" concept. It was a stark contrast to Yang, who was already halfway through her burger, her focus solely on consuming as much as possible. Ruby was no better, practically inhaling hers with a speed that could only be described as "unnatural."
Blake, on the other hand, was far more composed, taking small bites and savoring her food with quiet enjoyment. Oscar was almost impressed at how she managed to stay so calm in the midst of the chaos that had unfolded the night before.
As Oscar watched them, the constant dings from his system kept interrupting his thoughts, each one adding more stats to his growing list. Charisma? Team synergy? He didn't know whether to feel proud or just confused at this point.
When the notifications stopped, he sighed and closed the system with a tap. "Well, at least it's something good for the team, I guess."
Ruby, looking up from her half-eaten burger, grinned at him. "Thanks for the food, Oscar! You're like... the best cook ever!"
Yang, mouth still full of burger, gave him a thumbs-up. "Yeah, this is awesome! You're basically the MVP today!"
Oscar just nodded, feeling a little embarrassed but grateful for the appreciation. It was odd, this feeling of camaraderie and responsibility that was growing within him. Between taking care of them last night and now making them food, it felt almost like a role he was settling into, despite everything.
Weiss, finally getting the hang of her burger, looked at Oscar with a sheepish smile. "I guess… I might've overreacted last night. I really hope you were as drunk as I was, Oscar."
Oscar, not wanting to delve into the awkwardness of last night, just nodded. "You don't have to worry about it. I think we all just got a little carried away."
He glanced over at Pyrrha and Jaune, who were sitting next to each other. They both had that guilty yet amused look on their faces, as if they were mentally replaying their wild night. Jaune, though, looked like he was still processing what had happened with his team, his gaze lingering on Pyrrha with a touch of uncertainty. As then they both left to two different washroom
Nora and Ren, now in a stable relationship, sat comfortably beside each other, occasionally glancing at the others. They were definitely more at ease with each other than anyone else in the room.
Oscar turned his attention back to the food. He was just trying to stay focused and not let the memories of last night weigh him down too much. It was becoming clear that their group was growing closer, with each day, each interaction. Even the unexpected ones.
"Well, looks like we're all still in one piece," Oscar remarked, trying to steer the conversation away from any further awkwardness. "Let's make sure we don't repeat last night, okay?"
Ruby looked at him innocently. "No promises, Oscar. But you did say you'd be the babysitter!"
Oscar just shook his head with a grin, "Yeah, guess that's my role now, huh?"
As his team settled into a more comfortable atmosphere, Oscar couldn't help but think that no matter what chaos might come next, he was beginning to enjoy this strange yet fulfilling role he'd found for himself. Even if the system kept throwing surprises his way, he was determined to stick with it—and with them.
As they continued eating, Oscar felt a sense of satisfaction, knowing that, despite the wild turn of events, they were all managing to stick together. For now, that was enough.
Oscar then went to the washroom, as he saw Jauen was puking, Pyrrha would help, if she also wasn't puking on the other washrooms, as he started to use [Healing Hands] on Jaune, as he started to pat him in the back.
Jaune then spoke. "Will I learn something, never to drink so much ever again".
Oscar chuckled softly as he continued to pat Jaune's back, using his healing abilities to ease the discomfort. "Yeah, that's probably a lesson most of us learn the hard way," he replied, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Jaune groaned, still hunched over the sink, but his expression softened as Oscar's [Healing Hands] worked its magic. "I swear, I didn't even know I could drink that much. I guess I'm just not cut out for this whole... partying thing."
Oscar gave a light shrug. "It's not for everyone. Some people just have a higher tolerance than others." He glanced over at Pyrrha, who was leaning against the other washroom door with a pale face. "It looks like you're not the only one who's feeling the effects."
Jaune turned his head toward the other washroom, wincing as he caught a glimpse of Pyrrha's state. "Oh... right. She was with me when we were celebrating, wasn't she? I think we both went a bit too far."
Oscar smirked. "Well, it's not like anyone had a great experience last night. You've got a whole team of walkin' hangovers now."
Jaune looked at Oscar, still feeling embarrassed but also grateful for the help. "Thanks, Oscar. For, you know, taking care of us. I... I guess I wasn't expecting a babysitter to show up last night."
Oscar shook his head. "It's no big deal. Just part of the team, right?" He gave Jaune a reassuring smile, trying to ease the tension in the air. "You all had a good time, even if it got a bit out of hand."
Jaune managed to sit up straight, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. "Well, I guess I'll be more careful next time," he said, his voice a little hoarse. "And maybe I'll stay away from anything with alcohol for a while. Especially after the way Pyrrha and I ended up."
Oscar gave a short nod. "That's probably for the best. You don't want to repeat that again. And I think Pyrrha's learned her lesson too."
Jaune let out a small laugh, his face still pale but a little more at ease now. "Yeah... definitely."
Oscar finished using [Healing Hands], his work done for now. He stepped back, looking at Jaune with a little more amusement. "You might want to go easy on the water too. Too much too quickly could upset your stomach."
Jaune nodded slowly, looking somewhat relieved but still feeling the aftermath of the night. "I'll take it slow, thanks. I guess... I don't think I'll ever forget last night."
Oscar smiled, giving him a quick pat on the shoulder. "Just try to stay sober today, okay? We've got a lot ahead of us."
Jaune nodded, finally feeling a little more like himself again. "Yeah... I think I can manage that."
As Oscar stepped out of the washroom, he couldn't help but shake his head in amusement. It had been a wild night, but at least they were all making it through together. And that, Oscar thought, was what really mattered in the end
The next day, as they all gathered in class, the irony was thick in the air. The professor, an older man with gray hair and a slightly intimidating look, began his lecture with an expression that didn't quite match the subject matter.
"Today, we'll be discussing the effects of alcohol on the body and mind," the professor announced. "Now, I know that many of you are probably already familiar with this topic—maybe from personal experience," he added with a knowing glance, clearly oblivious to the students' recent exploits.
The class collectively groaned, the sense of irony not lost on any of them. They were all there, nursing headaches, some of them still a little shaky from the night before. Despite the uncomfortable situation, Oscar couldn't help but let out a small, suppressed laugh at the coincidence. Of all the topics they could have been taught that day, it had to be about drinking.
Ruby, sitting next to him, buried her face in her arms, muttering in a low voice, "Why did this have to happen today of all days?"
Weiss, her usual composure slightly cracked from the hangover, grumbled, "This is so humiliating. I never thought I'd have to attend a class about this... with the teacher oblivious to what happened."
Oscar sighed, feeling the weight of the irony himself. "I think we all need a day off after last night," he muttered, his fingers tapping lightly on his desk.
The professor continued, still unaware of the internal struggle his students were facing. "Alcohol can impact various systems in the body, including the nervous and digestive systems. It can impair judgment, slow reflexes, and even cause memory loss in extreme cases. Of course, there are also long-term effects of excessive drinking that can harm your health."
Ruby whispered to Oscar, "You don't think he's referring to us, do you?"
Oscar just shrugged, his expression unreadable. "He's probably just talking about general knowledge. Nothing to worry about."
As the lecture went on, everyone sat there, trying their best to stay attentive despite the lingering discomfort. Some students looked as though they were still fighting off the last remnants of their hangovers, and it wasn't hard to guess that the whole class was a little less focused than usual.
"Remember," the professor continued, "Moderation is key when consuming alcohol. And for the young, it's always a good idea to wait until your body is fully developed before engaging in any kind of drinking."
Yang, still a bit disoriented, whispered to Blake, "I guess we all need to take that advice to heart, huh?"
Blake, who was looking particularly grim, nodded in agreement. "I don't think I've ever been this hungover in my life."
Oscar, still trying to keep his cool, noted with a quiet chuckle, "You're not the only one. Trust me, we'll get through this. Just try to take the lesson to heart."
As the class went on, Oscar found himself zoning out a little, his thoughts drifting to the absurdity of the whole situation. It was strange to think that a class on alcohol consumption had followed such an eventful night. Still, there was a lesson to be learned—one that they would probably never forget, no matter how painful.
By the time the class ended, the students filed out of the room, some moving slowly and with a bit of an awkward shuffle. Oscar and his team, still recovering, shared looks of mutual understanding, all of them silently agreeing that they wouldn't be making that same mistake again any time soon.
