Chapter 35: Magic Shop
After getting an agreement on what they were going to do in the town, Alisa immediately took that chance to show Albert around the town. Unlike Lustville Town, the economy around the town was more booming.
The market was filled with people of all races. She even offered Albert some clothing after knowing he didn't change his clothes for a few days.
Albert refused her politely because he didn't plan to embarrass himself by getting new clothes. He simply didn't want to feel pain when trying new clothes.
He planned to have new clothes from his system, considering Bonkey had told him there was going to be one.
It took them three hours to go around the town and they took a rest at a restaurant to fill up their belly.
Alisa agreed that she would bring him to the place where he could learn magic.
And she fulfilled her promise by bringing Albert to the Kona Magic Shop.
The building was two-story-tall with glass windows decorating the front. There was a wooden plank with "KONA" written on it, so he made sure to remember this place.
Alisa pushed open the door, revealing the Magic Shop.
"Kona!" Alisa entered while calling someone's name out loud.
Albert, on the other hand, was more curious about the things they put on display. This was his first time going to a magic shop, so he observed all of them.
On his right, he found a giant shelf with a few empty glass bottles and jewels. He turned his head to the opposite side and found another shelf filled with similar bottles but with colored liquids inside. There were purple, blue, and even silver liquids.
He didn't know what was inside it, but the feeling of living in a fantasy world just kicked in his heart.
'This is magic… I don't even dare to test those potions.' Albert's thought was normal, considering he didn't know anything about these potions.
He then turned to the counter in front of him.
Suddenly, a woman wearing a purple robe and huge magician hat opened the door behind the counter and came out.
"That sounds… Is it Alisa?"
Albert raised his eyebrows when he saw the woman. She was another human slightly older than Alisa. She wore big round glasses to add some innocence to her mature's face and seductive curves.
"I'm here with someone." Alisa pointed at Albert.
"Ah, is he your sex—!" Alisa hurriedly covered her mouth to stop her from talking. She hurriedly whispered to her. "He's a new guy and a very talented one at that. He just came to this town to receive his blessing and got a variant on his first blessing. There are some circumstances, so I brought him because of his request… Something like there's a connection between him and magic."
She was still surprised by Alisa's sudden action but nodded her head, telling her that she wouldn't say something useless.
"Hah." The woman sighed and took a step back, looking at Albert and Alisa with a weird expression. "You do know that if he wants to learn magic, it's better not to learn from me."
Alisa knew about the fact that her friend was a nerd who always crammed the knowledge about magic into her brain but never used it. In other words, she was a useless magician except for her knowledge.
However, that was the reason why Alisa wanted her help. She would be perfect for teaching Albert everything while stalling him until sunset. At that time, they had no choice other than to stay in this town.
"Don't worry. He's a special guy who could get a variant job the instant he awakened, so I think he can do it." Alisa winked her right eye.
"Is that so? Well, I don't mind teaching him some stuff as long as he is willing." She nodded and glanced at Albert. "Hello."
Albert greeted her back politely. "Hello."
"I have heard of your situation. It seems you want to learn magic from me. Is that correct?"
"Yes, I want to learn magic," Albert admitted without hesitation.
"I can teach you all the knowledge about it, but this is usually a long process."
"Can you do it within a day?" Alisa asked.
"A day?" She thought for a moment. "I can't guarantee he can learn magic, but I should be able to give him some basic knowledge about magic. I will just give him a few basic instructions so that he can practice his magic later. It won't take too long as long as he can keep up with me."
Albert nodded. "I promise I will keep up with you."
"Good." The woman smiled. "My name is Konaria. You can just call me Kona."
"I am Albert."
"Nice to meet you, Albert." She then turned to Alisa. "Well, are you going to wait here?"
"I am going to handle a few things in the city." Alisa pointed at the exit before glancing at Albert. "Sorry. Even though I promise to accompany you, I can only leave you to Kona."
"It's fine. I am already thankful that you brought me here today."
"Alright. I will leave you for a while. If you have finished and I haven't come back, just wait here."
"Sure." Albert agreed with a calm expression.
Alisa glared at Kona for one more time, warning her not to say anything about her. After that, she left the building while waving her hand.
With them being left alone, Albert lowered his head and politely said, "Thank you for having me. Do I need to pay something? I don't have that much money."
"Well, my shop isn't that busy, so I am free. Teaching someone is also another form of learning, so I will use this to gain some experience. So, yeah… You don't need to pay me. It's not like I'm planning to give you an item, so it will only cost me my time."
"Thank you." Albert smiled and saw Kona opening the door. "Follow me."
Albert found a small gate on the counter, so he used it to enter before following Kona inside.
