Redemption Of The Yandere Villain

Chapter 95: Each Agenda

"Young Lord, some refreshments were requested by the Madam to be delivered. She expresses regret for being unable to personally welcome the young master and his highness due to her ongoing illness. She hopes that her actions have not caused offense to the young master and that he feels at home in the dukedom."

Casimin casts a fleeting look at his younger brother before clearing his throat.

"Kindly convey to Mother that she needn't be overly concerned."

Eugene glances in the direction of the butler and places his teacup down, remarking, "Please extend my gratitude to the duchess. I send my well wishes for her swift recovery."

"Assuredly, I shall ensure that the madam receives your message."

Casimin lets out a sigh, "Mother's condition has deteriorated, especially since Father's imprisonment. It pains me that she continues to care for a man who shows her disrespect. It's infuriating to witness her disregard her own health for someone unworthy of her affection."

Eugene acknowledges with a thoughtful sound.

This is precisely why he cannot remain here.

He cannot bear to see the duchess endure further suffering.

Just the thought of the fact that the duke changes the color of his eyes similar to the duchess out of guilt of sending away the eldest son to the Catharis invokes a sense of revulsion within him.

How can a father of such nature even exist?

Kaizer grasped Eugene's hand in an effort to soothe his beloved's momentary ire.

"Duchess Krishna must now exhibit self-assurance in the absence of the duke. Exhibiting such vulnerability will only make her susceptible to scrutiny and mockery from others."

―Vena Church

"Your eminence, I implore you to take action concerning the Cathalia family!"

Yitiach's countenance grew somber as he gazed dismally at Bishop Veroncio, who humbly inclined his head with a tremor in his demeanor, seemingly beseeching for clemency.

"Bishop Veroncio, you are well aware of the significance of a saintly figure in this empire."

Bishop Veroncio clenched his teeth.

"But your eminence, Saint Eullian's actions are truly peculiar. How could Saintess Rebecca have succumbed to unconsciousness merely from a fall down the stairs? Even holy magic has failed to rouse her!"

Yitiach furrowed his brow.

"Rebecca shall no longer bear the title of saintess following Eullian's canonization. Regardless of the Cathalia family's pressure on the church, we cannot oppose the divine will. We must ensure that Eullian will be able to deliver testament to people."

"But your eminence---"

Yitiach wave his hand and said, "Bishop Veroncio, are you aware of the crime of accusing a saint who is a national figure of the empire?"

Bishop Veroncio paused and gritted his teeth, "Yes, I apologize."

"Good. If you know you should be careful with your mouth."

Yitiach observed Bishop Veroncio's departure, and a faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips. Intriguing developments were indeed unfolding within the Church's sphere. It had been quite some time since he had experienced such a rush of fascination, and he couldn't resist the urge to maintain his connection with Eullian, eager to witness more of the unfolding drama.

He chuckled, lightly tapping his fingers against the corner of his mouth.

"Ah, how intriguing Eullian is. Why rush to expose him? If we reveal him too soon, wouldn't all the excitement fade away? The Church can be rather dull, so having Eullian around isn't such a bad thing."

Bishop Veroncio walked solemnly through the church's hallway.

Regardless of the circumstances, he held firm to his conviction that Eullian was not pure-hearted and harbored a hidden darkness. He had been in the company of Saintess Rebecca and had been warned about Eullian's unsettling demeanor. They had planned to conduct an investigation, but Saintess Rebecca's unfortunate accident, which left her in a deep slumber, thwarted their efforts.

Such a turn of events was something he found impossible to accept.

"Ah!"

Bishop Veroncio abruptly halted and extended his hand, stammering, "Y-You—"

He cleared his throat, realizing that he had collided with someone. A sense of remorse washed over him as he helped the person gather the flowers that had been inadvertently scattered from their basket and offered his apologies.

Chantall shook her head and replied, "N-No, I'm the one who should apologize."

Bishop Veroncio glanced at Chantall's attire and inquired, "Are you a volunteer?"

Chantall nodded hesitantly and clutched the basket in her hands, feeling a twinge of unease as she had entered the church with less-than-pure intentions.

"Is the rose an offering for god?" Bishop Veroncio inquired.

Chantall shook her head, saying, "No, this is an offering to Saint Eullian. I heard he is currently in the hall, praying, so everyone is gathering to give something."

Bishop Veroncio's expression soured.

"An offering for a saint? Since when was such a practice instituted?"

Chantall's eyes widened, and she stammered, "Ah?"

Bishop Veroncio's displeasure grew as he observed the widespread trend within the church, where numerous individuals sought to placate and gratify Eullian, who had not yet even been canonized. The fact that the incident involving Saintess Rebecca appeared to have been conveniently overshadowed due to Eullian's presence further fueled his dissatisfaction.

Chantall observed Bishop Veroncio's departure with a sense of foreboding.

The tone of his words made it clear that he did not hold Eullian in favor, and in this world, opposing the protagonist often resulted in swift retribution. Only if she is in the first book! Because her gathered information hinted at a possible transmigration into the second book, focusing on the Eugene and Kaizer couple—a prospect that filled her with excitement.

However, before indulging in her fangirling, she recognized the need to first closely scrutinize the most formidable adversary who could potentially disrupt her cherished ship.

That's right... the saint!

Determined to uncover any hidden facets of Eullian's character, Chantall resolved to strip away the facade, revealing to Kaizer the true nature of this character in the second book—a character she deemed to be a "green tea bitch" and a potential romantic rival.

Who cares about the first book? That's trash! She only cares about the second book!

The events of the first book held little significance for her now. She was solely focused on the second book and ensuring that her ship, the Eugene and Kaizer couple, remained intact.

Gritting her teeth in determination, Chantall continued down the hallway until she reached the hall, where other volunteers like her and nuns had congregated.

―Eugene suddenly sneezed.

Sensing the gaze of two concerned sets of eyes upon him, Eugene instinctively touched his nose and furrowed his brow, contemplating whether someone was currently maligning him in conversation.

"Have you caught a cold?" Casimin asked, a note of worry in his voice.

Without hesitation, Kaizer removed his coat and draped it over Eugene's shoulders, embracing his lover while suggesting, "Should we head home and summon a doctor—"

Eugene gently pushed Kaizer's face away and mumbled, "A cold? How could a god like me fall ill?"

Kaizer momentarily paused, recognizing the fundamental differences in their physiques compared to humans. He cleared his throat, offering a low, apologetic murmur that tugged at Eugene's heartstrings. In response, Eugene hummed contentedly and nestled against Kaizer's chest, resembling a proud cat—a sight that caused a subtle twitch of Casimin's lips.

Well, at least Kaizer was treating his younger brother with care and consideration.

"Will you be staying for dinner tonight?"

Eugene shook his head in response, explaining, "We have a dinner engagement with the grand duchess."

Casimin's curiosity was piqued upon hearing about the grand duchess. Despite his initial reluctance to accept the truth that he and Eugene were born through magical means, there had always been a lingering wonder about how their father had accomplished it. However, he had no intention of delving into such matters, opting instead to destroy all records and evidence related to his father's secretive practices.

Yet, the revelation that Kaizer and Khalil had also been conceived in a similar manner had prompted Casimin to open his mind to this unsettling realm of knowledge. He began studying it, not with any particular purpose in mind, but simply out of pure curiosity.

"In that case, we can have a family banquet after the cede ceremony," Casimin suggested.

Eugene responded with a warm smile and said, "I'm looking forward to it."

After concluding their final discussions regarding the search mission, Kaizer and Eugene departed from the dukedom and headed straight to the city center to purchase the items Khalil had requested.

Kaizer stood before a line of tassels presented by the shop worker, a frown on his face. A variety of red tassels lay on the table for them to choose from, and Kaizer found himself at a loss for which design to select.

Every time he contemplated picking the simplest one, Eugene would admonish him with a smack to his hand and a stern glare, insisting that he choose carefully and consider whether Khalil would appreciate it.

Kaizer felt a sense of dissatisfaction.

He had never been particularly close to Khalil, and he found the whole situation of running this errand quite bothersome. In his opinion, it would have been far more preferable if the task had been for Eugene; he could have chosen the best option without any trouble.

"Just this."

Kaizer grabbed the red tassel and gave it to the shopkeeper.

Eugene glanced at it and nodded in satisfaction.

This red tassel is crafted from sumptuous crimson silk threads, which glisten with a rich, lustrous sheen. The deep red hue evokes passion and luxury. Embedded within the silk threads are delicate, intricately designed pieces of jewelry, adding a touch of sparkle and glamour.

The centerpiece of this tassel is a mesmerizing cluster of jewels. A magnificent ruby, set in a bed of diamonds, serves as the focal point. The ruby's deep red hue complements the silk, creating a harmonious balance of colors. The surrounding diamonds, with their brilliant facets, catch the light and create a dazzling effect that's simply enchanting.

"Your Highness you have a good eye, this red tassel is a versatile accessory that can be attached to a variety of items, especially in the pommel of a sword."

The shop manager smiled pleasingly.

Eugene thought so too.

The tassel captures the essence of opulence and sophistication, making it the perfect addition to any ensemble or decor that seeks to embody luxury and timeless beauty.

Kaizer glanced at his lover and said softly, "Do you want me to buy you one?"

The shop manager glances at Eugene with a bright smile.

This is the rumored future grand duchess, the young master of the Shradinza Household who is well-known as obnoxious and peevish. He could only please and try not to offend his two distinguished customers.

"If it's for the young master, we something here."

The manager motioned for someone to bring the current best accessories of the season.

Eugene cast a quick glance at Kaizer and inquired, "A fresh shipment of accessories and clothing has just arrived from trade. Why are you buying me something again?"

Kaizer leaned against the couch and lightly brushed his fingers across Eugene's face. He spoke softly, saying, "I simply wanted to get you something, to provide you with all that I can because it's the least I can do."

Eugene lowered his gaze and hummed.

Shortly after, a cart was wheeled in, laden with an array of accessories. Eugene's gaze swept over the assortment, and he carefully examined what piqued his interest. This time, he selected a fibulae and a set of clasps, opting for a more straightforward and understated style. He handed them to Kaizer, conveying his appreciation for such accessories, which he could comfortably wear within the confines of the castle.

Unlike some of his more ornate accessories adorned with gemstones and chains, this time he sought something lighter and more suitable for everyday use.

Kaizer raised an eyebrow as he held the chosen accessories. "You favor these simpler designs?"

Eugene nodded in affirmation. "I find them more comfortable for indoor wear."

"Very well, then. Let's pick out everything you like, and we'll have them wrapped up," Kaizer agreed, a small smile touching his lips as he proceeded to assist Eugene in selecting the accessories that suited his taste.

The manager happily assisted them.

After a few minutes, Kaizer and Eugene step out of the shop, and behind them is the coachman who carries boxes of their purchase.

As Eugene entered the carriage, Kaizer followed closely behind and, with a playful spirit, pulled him into an embrace, leaning in for a kiss. Eugene held onto Kaizer's shoulder and responded with a low, contented hum, feeling that his sensitive spot had been touched by this affectionate gesture.

"Honey, you're incredibly sweet," Kaizer whispered in a soft, affectionate tone.

Eugene playfully rolled his eyes and lightly slapped Kaizer's chest, teasingly remarking, "You're such a goof."
