Chapter 34 Take me in
As soon as Ruan Sangning opened the door, Qi Wenqing squeezed in. Hearing the knocking sound from the living room window, his face instantly darkened.
Ruan Sangning noticed his change and followed his gaze. There seemed to be something floating behind the thick curtains.
"Ignore it."
Qi Wenqing lowered his voice and warned Ruan Sangning.
Ruan Sangning nodded, but before she could ask in detail, the window was violently hit.
With a crisp sound of glass being smashed, Qi Wenqing shouted something bad and immediately rushed to the still open door of his house in a few sprints and closed the door forcefully.
Sure enough, as soon as he closed the door tightly, he was hit from the inside out. The roar of the zombies inside the door was particularly harsh in the quiet corridor.
Qi Wenqing walked quickly to Ruan Sangning and naturally got into Ruan Sangning's house, not forgetting to close the door and hang several safety locks.
Ruan Sangning felt her forehead twitching slightly as she watched Qi Wenqing's smooth movements. She twitched her lips and looked at the man in front of her, his face not red, his heart not beating, and he patted his chest, looking frightened.
Really awesome.
These words suddenly popped up in Ruan Sangning's mind. She really couldn't connect the current Qi Wenqing with the cold and calm man in Thailand.
Qi Wenqing watched Ruan Sangning, whose expression changed several times for a while, finally realized what he was doing and scratched his head in embarrassment.
"Ahem, well, I can't live in my house now, so I might have to trouble you to take me in for a few days."
Ruan Sangning glanced at the man coolly.
"How many days?"
"what?"
Qi Wenqing obviously didn't expect that Ruan Sangning would really ask him for the specific days. He blushed, his lips moved slightly and he couldn't say a word.
Finally, he laughed awkwardly under Ruan Sangning's firm eyes.
"a few days."
Ruan Sangning originally wanted to kick the man out of the door immediately, but she hesitated when she thought of the man's skills in Thailand. Besides, the man had given her a bag of supplies before, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to temporarily take him in for a few days, right? Besides, the man also had superpowers, which would be somewhat useful.
Ruan Sangning stopped worrying after thinking about it, and immediately decided to free up a second bedroom for Qi Wenqing to live in temporarily. After all, if there was a fight, he really couldn't beat this man, not to mention that he still had super powers.
Those who know the current affairs are heroes. For people like Qi Wenqing, it is safer to be teammates or friends. Now that he lives in his own home, he probably won't have any bad intentions for the time being.
Ruan Sangning comforted and persuaded herself in her heart, resisting the urge to throw Qi Wenqing out and planning to clean up the bedroom.
"You sit down for a while and I'll clean up a bedroom."
Qi Wenqing was still measured after all. He did not rush to clean up, but sat obediently on the sofa and waited for Ruan Sangning to come out after tidying up the bedroom.
Ruan Sangning took out a key from her pocket, inserted it into the keyhole of the second bedroom and turned it a few times to unlock the door. She walked in and turned on the light switch in the room.
She had hired a decorator to nail the window in this bedroom shut before. She had planned to put some supplies in this bedroom from the beginning, not to live in it at all. Now it's just a matter of stuffing the supplies inside into the space and moving a bed out.
After Ruan Sangning collected the supplies in the house, he took out a set of furniture covered with white cloth from the space and put it into the bedroom.
A big bed big enough for Qi Wenqing to roll around in, a single sofa, a small round table and two matching benches. In addition, there is a wooden wardrobe and two small bedside tables.
Feeling that it was almost done, Ruan Sangning dug out a mattress from the space and placed it on the bed. He threw away the bedding and sheets before clapping his hands and walking out.
"It's ready. Make your own bed."
Qi Wenqing thanked him profusely and got into the bedroom to tidy up himself.
He folded the white cloth covering the furniture carefully and put it in the closet. He didn't stop until the bed was neatly covered with no wrinkles.
Ruan Sangning leaned against the door frame and couldn't help but smile as she looked at the man's meticulous and serious look. Not to mention that the most worthy thing for her to learn from Qi Wenqing was that he was serious enough about everything he did.
For example, now, it was just a simple bed, but he made it seem like he was making some great work of art.
"Zizzi, snap!"
Qi Wenqing had just made the bed when he heard the sound of electricity coming from the top of his head, and the pieces of the light bulb fell down with a popping sound.
Ruan Sangning stood at the door of the bedroom. She endured the mood of scolding her and walked quickly to the meter box dedicated to the solar power generation panel in the living room to check it.
Bad news, because the zombies destroyed the solar panels, the house is completely without power.
Qi Wenqing also walked out of the bedroom. There were two small wounds on his forehead that were scratched by the fragments of the light bulb, and blood was pouring out.
Ruan Sangning raised his eyes and glanced at him. He didn't bother to ask him if it was okay now. There were more important things to solve.
Qi Wenqing looked at Ruan Sangning's frowning and depressed look and chuckled.
Ruan Sangning raised her head again and wanted to scold him. Her fierce gaze turned into starry eyes when she saw the sizzling purple electric ball in Qi Wenqing's hand. Ruan Sangning, the loser, showed Qi Wenqing a flattering smile.
"Oh, it's a coincidence, isn't it? Although the solar panels were destroyed by zombies, Brother Lei Gong, you are the second in my family. If it weren't for you, I would have been in trouble."
That's the truth, but why are Ruan Sangning's words so unpleasant to listen to.
Qi Wenqing looked at the villain in front of him speechlessly, and silently put away the electric ball.
"Hey, Brother Qi, stop it. Turn on the power quickly. My refrigerator and freezer cannot be powered off. Aren't you going to kill me?"
Qi Wenqing pointed to the bedroom he had just been assigned.
"Do you have any spare light bulbs? Give me one first. It just so happens that the power is out right now. I will replace the broken lamp in the bedroom."
Ruan Sangning nodded: "Yes, there is, but you may have to dismantle that lamp. It is one piece, without its bulb."
Qi Wenqing shrugged indifferently, as long as it could provide lighting, he didn't care whether it was the original match or not.
Ruan Sangning rummaged through three or four cabinets based on her memory before she found the spare light bulb. She handed the light bulb and the toolbox to Qi Wenqing and left it alone.
Qi Wenqing was holding a flashlight in the dark bedroom and unplugging the lamp. Ruan Sangning was sitting at the coffee table, eating daily nuts and thinking about how to get rid of the zombies that were still hitting the glass outside the window.
No matter how strong the glass is, it can't withstand the constant collision. She doesn't want her new home that has only been in for a few days to become in pieces because of the zombies outside the window.
Ruan Sangning held his chin with a frown on his face and stared at the glass window that was constantly being hit. He sighed deeply and felt that his favorite daily nuts in his mouth no longer tasted good.
