Princess, Please Fall in Love with Me

Ch. 11

Chapter 11: Rose, Watered Only by Blood

"What’s going on here? Where’s the doctor? Where are the guards?"

"Your Majesty, you must leave at once—there might still be traces of the poisonous mist!"

The back garden was already in chaos.

Noble ladies and young masters lay powerless on the ground, their faces purple.

Even the guards on duty were limp, their limbs weak.

When the Emperor arrived, the assassin who had poisoned them had long since fled, leaving only the unconscious, poisoned crowd.

The palace doctor hurried forward to lift the nearest little girl, his expression grave.

"The poison has already entered this child’s body, and it’s deeply rooted…"

At that moment, several soldiers rushed over, carrying a few children.

The Emperor looked closely and saw that the Fourth Prince and Fifth Prince also had purple faces, their hands trembling faintly.

"Over here, the Second Prince and Third Princess are here too!"

The condition of the other two royal children seemed slightly better, perhaps because they were near their mothers, who had protected them.

The two mischievous boys, however, had collapsed near a distant pavilion and were found by soldiers searching for the assassin.

The poisonous gas attack had come so silently that even the doctors couldn’t quickly identify the symptoms.

They could only use some medicines to slow the poison’s spread.

As the doctor prepared to administer medicine to the deeply poisoned girl, he was kicked aside.

"Can’t you see the other two princes? Hurry and treat them!"

"Your Majesty, this child’s condition is more severe…"

"Some bastard child from who-knows-where. If she dies, she dies."

Faced with the Emperor’s cold, heartless words, the doctor hesitated but, under the pressure of the nearby soldiers, gave the girl a regretful glance before hurrying away.

"Where are you, Loka?"

A small figure suddenly pushed through the crowd, anxiously searching for her playmate.

She stumbled and fell in front of everyone.

The crowd looked in surprise at this lively child.

"What’s wrong, Loka? Why aren’t you speaking?"

Yiwen ran toward her fallen playmate, completely ignoring the people around her.

She grabbed the girl’s hand, trying to wake her, her eyes shimmering with tears.

"Is that… Her Highness, the Sixth Princess Yiwen?"

Amid the noisy crowd, a minister with a good memory recognized the crying Yiwen.

The Emperor, too preoccupied to care, grabbed her and glared as he demanded.

"Why are you fine? Speak!"

"Father… It hurts. I don’t know…"

Yiwen, clearly frightened by the Emperor’s fierce demeanor, sobbed quietly and shook her head timidly.

Something slipped from her hand unnoticed.

"Little grass, it’s little grass!"

Seeing the clover grass that fell, Yiwen quickly grabbed a handful and stuffed it into the unconscious Loka’s mouth.

Astonishingly, Loka’s complexion visibly improved, turning a pale white.

The doctor treating the other princes witnessed this miraculous scene and rushed over.

He carefully took Yiwen’s hand and asked as gently as possible.

"Your Highness, where did you find this grass?"

Timidly, Yiwen stuffed all the clover grass into the doctor’s hands and pointed to a hidden corner.

"In my palace, there’s a lot of this little grass."

The clover grass, usually so common, was now treated like a treasure by the doctor as he rushed toward the increasingly critical princes.

As the palace’s imperial physician, he quickly used the clover grass to create a simple antidote, which worked immediately.

The two princes began to stir, groggily waking up.

Seeing their anxious mothers, the children’s dependence made them cry uncontrollably.

"Your Highness, may I follow you to your palace?"

Yiwen looked at the sincere physician and nodded, though she clung tightly to the still-unconscious Loka.

The physician understood her intent and gently lifted Loka, following Yiwen through the grass.

Thanks to the lush patch of clover grass near the palace, the sudden attack was quickly mitigated.

The Empress, who had organized the event, arrived late.

When the Empress saw the miraculously unharmed scene, Yiwen was being joyfully held in the Emperor’s arms.

The physician, who had once served the previous Emperor in battle and was highly respected among the people, called Yiwen the "lucky star" of the empire, a savior sent from the heavens!

Without Yiwen, treating the princes would have been extremely difficult, and even if successful, they would likely have suffered severe aftereffects.

When it was mentioned that the Emperor’s interactions with the princes might have exposed him to the poison, he looked at this daughter, whose name he had nearly forgotten, with a rare smile.

"Yiwen, is it? Truly my good daughter!"

The one who saved the nobles was the Sixth Princess of the royal family.

The Emperor couldn’t wait to spread the news across the entire Austin Empire.

But if the First Prince, who had been sent to the family’s territory under the pretense of illness, heard this, he might be furious.

After this incident, the Amethyst Palace, the new name the Emperor gave to Yiwen’s palace, began to draw attention and voices once more.

However, the Sixth Princess always maintained a cold, unapproachable expression, keeping even the closer maids at a distance from her room.

"You’ve been unconscious for three days."

Looking at Loka, whose forehead was burning, Yiwen gently wiped the sweat from her face with a handkerchief, sitting helplessly by her side, watching quietly.

After the poisonous mist incident, Yiwen had placed Loka in her own room.

The Beautiful Woman, who wished Loka had died from the poison, naturally paid no attention to her disappearance.

The royal physician had also come to check on her.

Loka was already frail, and the poison’s aftereffects were even more severe for her.

"Really, so reckless, like an idiot…"

Yiwen curiously poked Loka’s cheek.

Though her expression remained calm and composed, every time Loka made a sound, she couldn’t help but check on her.

"Ugh, cold…"

Just as Yiwen was about to drift off, Loka finally stirred, slowly waking up.

She vaguely remembered rushing into the center of the back garden, then being overwhelmed by the poisonous gas.

"So cold…"

Despite being covered with thick quilts, her body trembled uncontrollably, a bone-deep chill coursing through her.

Suddenly, her body was enveloped in a soft, warm embrace.

She tried to move but was held firmly.

"Don’t move. Just like this. Sleep."

Yiwen held her tightly, her arms gently wrapped around Loka’s small waist, the two quietly pressed together.

"Are you an idiot?"

"Mm… huh?"

Yiwen held her gently, muttering softly with her eyes closed.

In her quiet complaints, she unknowingly fell asleep.

A curious maid accidentally pushed open the room’s door and saw the two little girls cuddling closely, their faces pressed together, sleeping warmly under the covers.
