"Guess what! I just got us a chance to face our first Gym Leader!!!"

'What?'

Amelia quickly scoops me up and hugs me in a tight bear hug before continuing. "I was able to get a reservation at the Gym when I was out getting food! It strangely didn't have many or any bookings so I just walked in and got a appointment for tommorrow morning!"

"Eevee! (I thought we were doing them in order?)"

"I thought about going to Falkner first but Violet Cityies kinda far and I didn't want to go all the back here after getting Falkner and Bugsy's badges, so instead we can do the Gyms in reverse then go to Ecruteak through Violet City."

"Eee, vee! (I guess that makes sense, alright then when are we leaving?)"

"We're leaving after we win which will probably be....In four days?"

Nodding my head lay back down on ground and slightly curl up. 'Wait...did she just understand me?...No way it was probably a lucky guess....' Amelia then exits the room to presumably tell Doku and Jarl the news.

'Well I may aswell get to my reading exercises, I should try to write while I'm at it. It should be easier to write, though how am I gonna write with paws....eh I'll figure it out when I get there.'

Grabbing Amelia's phone that she forgot to take with her I start typing out some simple questions and translating them into something I can understand. 'So the keyboard isn't set up any differently which means the only thing I have to get usd to is the symbols over the letters themselves. It probably has something to do with how the words and letters are meant to be said.'

'Why is there a < next to the letter that's supposed to be e?...Is this language similar to french or something? Good I swear if choosing to study Spanish instead of French is going bite me in the ass...Oh nevermind they have o's and a's at the end of some words too.'

Focusing for what feels like years ge ttaken out of my focus due to a knock at the window. 'The fuck?' Hopping onto a nearby desk table I move onto the window sill and see a Pichu?

'Oh? Its Pibu, the fucks he doing here?' Openning the window I let the very...salty? smelling Pichu inside. "So this is where your staying!" The Pichu immediately starts prodding around the room.

"You didn't know where I stayed before you started knocking at the window? How many Pokecenters did you go to before you ended up here?" The Pichu jumps up onto the quenn sized bed in the room and looks at the egg incubating in there. "...Do you have a child???"

"Obviously not! Sometimes I forget that your just a mini copy of Gold." Pibu visibly recoils at that and turns to me with his checks puffed up. "What's that supposed to mean? Gold isn't that bad!"

"Really?"

"....I mean he's..Alright? Decent? Serviceable at the worst!"

I raise one of my eyebrows at Pibu's answer. "Again really?" Pibu starts to sweat slightly but I shake my head and go back to my reading exercises. "So what are you doing here anyway? Shouldn't you and Gold be literally anywhere else?"

Pibu recovers quickly and retucks in the incubator under the blanket before responding. "Well Gold is trying to win back his money at the Game Corner though he wasn't having the best of luck."

Shaking my head slightly as I start slowly reading a random article I found. "Whatever you do don't pick up his gambling addiction. I would say don't be like Gold at all but you already picked up his IQ, so some points lost there."

Pibu jumps from the bed to the desk I'm currently sitting and have the phone on. "Excuse me!? I'm way smarter than Gold!"

"Oh really? So instead of going to every Pokecenter you could think of you used your amazingly high IQ to realize that when we went to the Pokecenter last time it was probably the Pokecenter we where staying in? I mean that's just common sense right? Right?"

Pibu freezes in place and his eyes slightly glaze over and as he freezes I go back to my extremely slow reading.

It takes a few minutes before Pibu regains basic brain functions and in that time I finish my first chapter of reading. 'I can read now. It's slow and I still don't know what half of these words mean but it seems that words are pretty similar like "the" is spelled "tha" in this language. I kinda messed me up in the beginning stages.'

Right as Pibu opens his mouth to speak the door bursts open once again only for Amelia and Gold to come rushing in. "Where's Pibu!/Swinub!"

I have a amused smirk on my face but that is wiped off as soon as Amelia says Swinub. "What? Swinub's gone? How?" Jumping off the desk I go up to Amelia and start Vee and Eeveeing in her face.

Only for Pibu to come up to me after avoiding Gold's attempt at a hug and grabs at his fur. "Do you mean this guy?" And after a few seconds of ruffling around he pulls out a equally salty smelling Swinub.

"...I swear this world wants me to have a heart attack.."

"The world?"

"It doesn't matter!"
