Chapter 85: Mega Charizard X! The Shiny Larvitar!

Tyranitar was furious.

The Sand Gems it had left for its child, Larvitar, had been stolen.

For Pokémon like Tyranitar, these gems were essential for their offspring's growth. Without sufficient energy, young Larvitar could become weak, and in severe cases, their innate potential might even decline.

"Tyranitar, let's talk this out!" Hikaru shouted nervously, holding the Mega Stone in his hand.

But Tyranitar's anger was unrelenting.

A single Rock Slide summoned a massive boulder, nearly ten meters wide, crashing down with terrifying force.

Thankfully, the Pokémon team—Charizard, Greninja, and Riolu—used their speed and coordination to dodge the attack.

However, defeating Tyranitar seemed nearly impossible.

---

Latias, hovering nearby, eagerly volunteered. "Let me fight, Hikaru!"

Ever since joining the team, she hadn't participated in any battles and was itching to prove herself.

Manaphy, who was playing beside her, chimed in, "I wanna go too!" For the young mythical Pokémon, this was just another exciting game.

"No need," Hikaru replied, shaking his head. "Charizard and the others can handle it. And if things get rough, we'll use Mega Evolution. It's time to see what Charizard can do in its ultimate form!"

"Alright…" Latias reluctantly stepped back, pouting slightly but complying.

---

Back on the battlefield

Riolu's eyes burned with determination as it watched the ongoing fight.

The frustration of not being able to help gnawed at it, but then something extraordinary happened—riolu began to glow!

The aura surged around it, intertwining with Hikaru's, and for the first time, riolu's evolved naturally into its final form.

"Lucario!"

Now standing taller and stronger, it turned to Hikaru, locking eyes with unwavering resolve.

"Alright, go for it!" Hikaru nodded, giving Lucario the green light to join the fray.

---

Despite Lucario's powerful addition, the battle's tide didn't shift dramatically. Tyranitar's master-level strength remained overwhelming.

The relentless onslaught pushed Hikaru to a decision.

"It's time," he muttered, reaching for his wrist where the Mega Ring glinted.

---

Charizard roared as it circled Tyranitar, spewing bursts of flame to draw its attention. Suddenly, as if sensing Hikaru's intent, Charizard glanced back at its trainer.

"Let's do this, Charizard!" Hikaru shouted, heart pounding.

The bond between them flashed vividly in Hikaru's mind:

The small, abandoned Charmander he had found in the rain; their first victory together; the countless battles they had fought side by side; and the moment they became champions of the provincial league.

Charizard's journey had been anything but smooth, but it had proven itself time and again.

Now, it was time to take the next step.

"Charizard, let's show them the strength of our bond!" Hikaru's voice rang out.

---

As Hikaru activated the Mega Stone, flames surged around Charizard, engulfing its body in a dazzling light.

Meanwhile, Tyranitar, sensing the shift in power, launched another massive Rock Slide, aiming straight for Hikaru.

"Charizard, Dragon Claw!"

The light faded just in time to reveal Mega Charizard X, its jet-black body gleaming ominously, and blue flames seeping from its jaws.

With a single swipe of its glowing claws, the falling rocks were shredded to dust.

---

The battle raged on for hours.

Mega Charizard X served as the main offensive force, while Greninja, Lucario, and Gardevoir provided support and distractions.

Tyranitar, with its immense power and endurance, fought valiantly but was ultimately overwhelmed by Charizard's strategic attacks.

Finally, a Fire Blast from Charizard struck Tyranitar, bringing the battle to a close.

Tyranitar collapsed, exhausted but not seriously injured. The dust settled, revealing the true extent of the battlefield's devastation.

---

With the storm dissipating, Hikaru approached the fallen Tyranitar cautiously. Using his Aura Guidance, he tried to convey his goodwill.

"Tyranitar, I'm not your enemy. Let's talk," he said softly.

Tyranitar growled weakly, its anger still smoldering. "Give back the food you stole!"

"Food?" Hikaru blinked, then noticed a small figure timidly emerging from the ground.

---

It was a shiny Larvitar, its black body and shy demeanor standing in stark contrast to its massive parent.

The little Pokémon looked at the group fearfully, as if worried they might harm Tyranitar.

Upon seeing its child, Tyranitar's aggression transformed into urgent protectiveness.

"It's okay," Hikaru said gently, kneeling to meet Larvitar's eyes. "I won't hurt you or your parent."

Reaching into his bag, Hikaru pulled out one of the stolen Sand Gems and handed it to Tyranitar.

"Here, I think this belongs to you."

Tyranitar's initial anger flared, but Hikaru quickly explained the situation: how the gems had been stolen by pirates and how he had recovered them.

Realizing the truth, Tyranitar calmed down.

---

"Little one, how about a treat?" Hikaru smiled, reaching into his bag.

The shiny Larvitar cautiously stepped forward, its eyes brightening at the sight of food.

Hikaru chuckled as he set down a small plate of custom-made Pokémon food, designed specifically for Rock and Ground types.

"Go ahead, it's safe," he encouraged.

The Larvitar hesitated for a moment before digging in, its tail wagging slightly.

As Hikaru watched the scene, a notification from the Rare Pokémon Guidance system appeared:

"Congratulations! You have found your target: a Shiny Larvitar!"

Hikaru grinned. "Looks like you're coming with me, little one."
