Chapter 61: Johto league Part 1
Haru looked at Electivire as he spoke. "Finished it".
Electivire then hit the used a Brick Brake as it took down a Arcanine as he looked at the trainer, a then he heard a sound, signaling his victory as he walked out and saw ash.
Haru looked at Ash as he spoke. "So you also won 3 of your qualifier match Ash".
Ahs noded and looked at Haru. "You bet I did".
Misty then spoke Looking at Haru. "I don't get the point for this, I mean the Indigo league has noting like this".
Haru looked at Misty, understanding her confusion, and explained. "The Johto League qualifiers are a bit different from the Indigo League, Misty. Here, they test not just your strength but your adaptability in battles. Winning three matches proves you're ready for the main tournament. It's kind of like a filter to find the best trainers."
Brock, standing beside Misty, chimed in. "It makes sense when you think about it. Johto trainers have a reputation for being versatile, so this system helps highlight those who can handle different strategies."
Ash nodded eagerly, his excitement evident. "Yeah, and it's a good way to warm up! Pikachu and I are ready for anything." Pikachu chirped enthusiastically from Ash's shoulder.
Haru smirked at Ash's confidence. "Just remember, Ash, this isn't just about raw strength. Some trainers here play the long game with strategies you might not expect."
Ash grinned back. "You mean like you, Haru? Don't worry, I'll be ready when we face off."
Haru chuckled. "We'll see, Ash. Just make sure you're not all talk when the time comes."
Misty sighed, shaking her head at their competitive banter. "You two are like rival magnets. Can't you just support each other for once?"
Both trainers laughed but didn't respond, their determination clear.
As the group made their way to the next set of matches, the stadium buzzed with the energy of countless trainers and spectators, each eager to see who would make it to the Johto League finals. Haru glanced at the scoreboard, where the names of the remaining trainers lit up. Among them, he spotted familiar names like Ash, Gary, and even some surprising challengers like Harrison.
Haru's thoughts raced. This is going to be tougher than I thought. But I won't back down. Not here, not now.
The stage was set, and the Johto League promised to push every trainer to their limit.
Haru then went to the main halls of Johto league as he spotted red. "Hey Mr legend".
Red looked up at Haru as he spoke. "Haru right".
Haru looked at him as he spoke. "So what are you doing here".
Red then spoke fixing his hat. "I came hear to cheer on my little Brother".
Haru looked at as he spoke. "Will ash will be happy to know his big brother is here to cheer him on, so how did your interaction with your Girlfriend".
Red then remeber Misty, then he moved his cheek to show a red hand mark, Haru the laughed as he looked at Red. "Will that is what you get vacancies for 2 years in MT silver".
Red then looked at him as he spoke. "How did that become public knowledge".
Blue then spoke joining them. "Because of me, also I am here to cheer my little Bro Gary".
Haru turned to see Blue, grinning as usual, joining the conversation. He chuckled, crossing his arms. "So both of you legendary trainers are here to cheer on your little brothers? Guess that makes this tournament even more interesting."
Blue smirked, leaning against the wall. "Of course. Someone's gotta keep an eye on those two knuckleheads. Besides, I wouldn't miss a chance to see how Gary has grown as a trainer."
Red adjusted his hat, glancing at Haru. "So what about you? Are you just here to compete, or do you have someone you're cheering for too?"
Haru grinned, shaking his head. "I'm here to win, plain and simple. But I'll admit, seeing Ash and Gary pushing themselves makes it all the more exciting."
Blue laughed, clapping Haru on the back. "I like your spirit, Haru. Just don't forget—this league is no joke. Gary's been training hard, and he's got some surprises up his sleeve."
Haru smirked, his confidence unwavering. "I wouldn't expect anything less. But don't count me out either. I've got a few tricks of my own."
Red gave a small smile at their banter but stayed quiet, his mind wandering. Haru noticed and teased him. "Still thinking about that slap, huh? Maybe you should've sent a letter while you were up there on Mt. Silver."
Blue burst out laughing while Red sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "Yeah, yeah. I'll deal with it. Right now, I'm here for Ash."
At that moment, Gary walked into the hall, spotting Blue. "Uncle Blue, what are you doing here?"
Blue grinned at his nephew. "What? You thought I wouldn't come to watch you crush the competition? Just don't embarrass me out there, kid."
Gary rolled his eyes but smirked. "I'll make sure to win in style, like always."
As the group talked, the announcement for the next set of matches echoed through the hall. Haru glanced at the board and saw his name paired against a trainer named Harrison.
Haru smirked, adjusting his Pokéball belt. "Looks like it's showtime. You two legends enjoy watching. I'll make sure to put on a good show."
Red and Blue exchanged a glance before nodding. Blue called out as Haru started walking away, "Hey, don't forget to give Gary a good match if you meet him later!"
Haru waved over his shoulder. "Count on it!"
Haru made his way to the stadium as he stand on his side, as on the other side we Harrison, as they were in the Ice battle field
Harrison just sighed as he looked at Haru. "Will i didn't expect to battle you in our first match".
Haru striked looking at Harrison. "Will bad luck for you".
"This is a 3 on 3, both trainer can switch out there Pokémon start".
Haru then sent out Swampert
Haru's Swampert stood tall, its presence exuding confidence on the icy battlefield. The water and ground-type's strength would undoubtedly give him an advantage in such conditions.
Harrison, unfazed, smirked and threw out his Pokéball. "Alright, let's see how you handle this! Go, Sneasel!"
The dark and ice-type Pokémon landed gracefully on the field, its claws glinting as it sized up Swampert.
Haru's eyes narrowed as he analyzed the matchup. "Sneasel's quick, but Swampert has the durability to outlast it. Let's make this count."
The referee raised their flags. "Battle, begin!"
Harrison took the initiative. "Sneasel, use Agility and follow up with Ice Shard!"
Sneasel zipped across the icy field with incredible speed, launching a barrage of sharp ice shards at Swampert.
Haru smirked. "Swampert, counter it with Rock Slide!"
Swampert roared as massive rocks materialized and were hurled at Sneasel. The shards collided with the rocks, shattering into a spray of ice, but Sneasel was forced to dodge the larger projectiles, losing its momentum.
Harrison wasn't deterred. "Sneasel, close in with Metal Claw!"
The dark-type dashed forward, its claws glowing with a metallic sheen.
Haru saw his opportunity. "Swampert, block it with Protect!"
A shimmering green barrier formed around Swampert, deflecting Sneasel's attack. Haru quickly followed up. "Now, strike back with Earthquake!"
Swampert stomped the icy ground, sending shockwaves rippling across the field. The ice cracked and shattered, leaving Sneasel scrambling for balance.
Harrison gritted his teeth. "Sneasel, jump and use Ice Punch!"
Sneasel leapt into the air, its fist glowing with icy energy.
Haru stayed calm. "Swampert, catch it with Hammer Arm!"
As Sneasel descended, Swampert's arm glowed a bright orange. With perfect timing, it swung upward, colliding with Sneasel mid-air. The impact sent Sneasel flying back, landing unconscious on the fractured ice.
The referee raised their flag. "Sneasel is unable to battle! Swampert wins!"
Harrison recalled Sneasel, nodding at Haru. "Impressive, but I'm not done yet. Go, Houndoom!"
Houndoom emerged onto the field, growling as flames licked around its jaws.
Haru smirked. "Fire-type? Let's see how long it lasts against my Swampert."
Harrison grinned. "Don't underestimate us. Houndoom, Sunny Day!"
Houndoom howled, and the battlefield was suddenly bathed in intense sunlight, melting some of the ice. Haru raised an eyebrow, realizing Harrison was setting up for a powerful move.
"Let's see how you handle this," Harrison said, confidence returning to his voice.
Harrison then looked at Haru. "Aren't you going to change".
Haru looker at Herrison. "Why should I, I am going to take all your 3 Pokémon with my one".
Harrison titled his head now confused. "Wait why do".
Haru spoke as he looked at the stands, as there was Clair, Rose, Whitney, Professor Elm, Suicune in hee human mode still wearing the made outfit and his 7 sister, as his eyes meet clair. "Because I have bet going with a cernten girl and I wanna win it"
Haru then cleared his throat as he looked at Swanpert. "Swampert move change, replace rock throw wirb Rain dance and use it"
Harrison then spoke confused. "Wait he can do that".
The people in the stadium then spoke. "He can do that".
The announcer then spoke. "Oh he can, it is allowed by the league".
Harrison's confusion was palpable as Swampert began its new move. The arena, still heated by the effects of Sunny Day, suddenly shifted as dark clouds gathered overhead. A light drizzle quickly turned into a torrential downpour, completely nullifying the sun's effects.
Haru smirked, his confidence unwavering. "The battlefield is my stage now. Swampert, get ready."
The crowd murmured in awe, and the announcer excitedly clarified, "In an unprecedented turn of events, Haru has swapped out one of Swampert's moves mid-battle! While unconventional, it is indeed permitted under the Johto League rules!"
Harrison looked at Houndoom, gritting his teeth. "Alright, fine! Houndoom, Flamethrower!"
The fire-type Pokémon unleashed a stream of flames toward Swampert, but under the heavy rain, the flames fizzled and dissipated before reaching their target.
Haru chuckled. "You've got guts, I'll give you that. Swampert, hit Houndoom with Muddy Water!"
Swampert summoned a massive wave of murky water that crashed down on Houndoom. The fire and dark-type yelped as it was thrown back, the super-effective move leaving it barely able to stand.
Harrison clenched his fists. "Houndoom, Thunder Fang!"
Houndoom charged forward with its fangs sparking with electricity, leaping toward Swampert.
Haru's eyes glinted. "Swampert, Hammer Arm!"
Swampert waited for Houndoom to close the distance before slamming its glowing arm down on the charging Pokémon. The impact sent Houndoom skidding across the wet battlefield, unconscious.
The referee raised their flag again. "Houndoom is unable to battle! Swampert wins!"
Harrison recalled Houndoom, visibly frustrated but determined. "Alright, Haru. You've forced me to bring out my ace. Go, Blaziken!"
The fire and fighting-type materialized onto the field, its fiery feathers gleaming even under the downpour. Its intense gaze locked onto Swampert, ready for a fight.
Haru crossed his arms and grinned. "Oh, this will be fun. Let's see how long your ace lasts."
Harrison smirked back. "Blaziken, Blaze Kick!"
Blaziken dashed forward, its leg engulfed in flames, aiming for a powerful strike.
Haru didn't flinch. "Swampert, counter with Aqua Tail!"
Swampert swung its glowing, water-coated tail, colliding with Blaziken's attack. The clash sent a spray of steam into the air, but the overwhelming power of Swampert's water-type move sent Blaziken stumbling back.
Haru took the opening. "Now, Swampert, finish this with Hydro Pump!"
Swampert unleashed a powerful blast of water that slammed into Blaziken, sending it flying into the battlefield wall. When the dust and water cleared, Blaziken lay unconscious.
The referee raised their flag for the final time. "Blaziken is unable to battle! Swampert wins! The victory goes to Haru!"
The crowd erupted into cheers, and Haru smirked as he looked toward the stands, meeting Clair's gaze with a triumphant grin.
Harrison sighed, recalling Blaziken. "Well, I can't say I didn't see that coming. Congrats, Haru. You earned it."
Haru nodded. "Better luck next time, Harrison."
As Haru left the battlefield, the rain began to let up, sunlight peeking through the dissipating clouds. The announcer's voice echoed throughout the stadium. "And with that, Haru advances to the next round of the Johto League!"
Misty then blink as she was in the stadium as she looked at Ash. "What he just did with Rain dance, will um that was".
Brock finished for her. "Something Red or Ash would do".
Misty nodded slowly, still processing what she had just witnessed. "Yeah... exactly that. It's something you two would pull off without batting an eye."
Ash grinned, crossing his arms. "I mean, Haru is strong, but I could've done something like that too!"
Brock raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Sure, Ash. Let's not forget the time you forgot how weather moves worked entirely."
Ash scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Okay, okay, but you have to admit, that was cool. He just changed the whole battle with one move."
Misty sighed, watching Haru wave to the crowd as he left the battlefield. "I hate to say it, but he's not just strong—he's smart. He knows how to turn any situation in his favor."
Brock nodded in agreement. "It's the kind of strategy you'd expect from someone like Red... or a Champion. He's got the instincts and creativity to back up his power."
Ash clenched his fist, his determination clear. "Well, I'm not gonna lose to him. If we meet in this tournament, I'll show him I can think on my feet just as well as he can!"
Misty smirked. "You better, Ash. Because after what we just saw, you're going to need to bring your A-game."
Brock chuckled. "Let's just hope Haru doesn't make you look like the underdog in your own story."
Ash puffed out his chest confidently. "No way! Just watch—next time, it'll be my turn to pull off something incredible!"
Misty rolled her eyes playfully. "You've got a long way to go, Ash. But hey, if anyone can pull off a comeback, it's you."
The three friends settled back into their seats, watching as the next match was about to begin, but the excitement from Haru's performance still lingered in the air.
Haru walked back to his corner going inside the halls, he then pulled out his Pokedex and scanned his Swampert and saw Swanpert changes it's moved to it's proper moves as Haru saw it.

Clair just blushed looking at hee boyfriend. "Why did I even agree to the bet".
Haru just laughed and lipted whe chin. "It was your idea, as you said if I can win my first Johto League match with one Pokemon for the rest of League match you will cheer me on, in a cheer leader outfit".
Clair's face turned even redder as she looked away, trying to regain her composure. "I didn't think you'd actually pull it off! I thought you'd use at least two Pokémon!"
Haru smirked, clearly enjoying her reaction. "Well, you underestimated me. Now, don't back out of the bet. A deal's a deal, Clair."
She crossed her arms, attempting to look stern but failing miserably as her blush betrayed her. "Fine! But only because I always keep my word. Don't get used to this, though!"
Haru chuckled, stepping closer and lightly brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Oh, don't worry. I'll make sure you're cheering extra loud when I win my next match."
Clair rolled her eyes, though there was a small smile tugging at her lips. "You're impossible, Haru. Just don't let your confidence get the better of you. There are still tough trainers out there, you know."
Haru nodded, his usual smirk softening into a confident grin. "I know. But with you cheering me on, I'm pretty sure I'll have all the motivation I need."
Clair gave him a playful shove. "You're lucky you're cute. Now, go rest up. You're going to need it if you plan on keeping this streak up."
Haru laughed, waving her off as he made his way to the locker room. "Rest? What's that? I've got a strategy to plan!"
Clair watched him go, shaking her head with a mix of exasperation and fondness. "What did I get myself into?" she muttered, a small smile still on her face as she turned to leave.
