Chapter 4: Chapter 4:Finding the Three-Sword Style
After sailing for some time, Luffy, Aden and Coby have apotted an island on the horizon.
"Look! That's Shells Town. It has a Marine base. Maybe i could sign up there." exclaimed Coby with enthusiasm.
"Really now?" asked Aden with a smirk "And you think saying that, in front of two pirates is a good idea?"
"What?! You don't mean...you'd kill me...?" said Coby with panic.
"Brezhihihihihahahaha!"
"Hihihihihi. He's just messing with you Coby." said Luffy with a laugh.
"Why you gotta ruin my fun, little bro?" replied Aden with pretend annoyance.
"Anyway. You say there is a Roronoa Zoro being held there. The bounty hunter?" asked Aden.
"That's right. I heard some of the Alvida pirates talk about it." responded Cobyy nodding his head.
"Well.. Then i am gonna go ahead. See what i can learn." said Aden standing up.
"Okay. Be careful, Aden." said Luffy.
Aden stood up in the small dinghy, stretching his back with a pop. Then he shimmered away into the wind, towards the direction of the island.
"~I will try.~"
"That is so awesome." said Coby in awe.
" That's my big bro for ya." replied Luffy with a proud grin " Man i'm hungry. I hope the got some meat."
.

.
As Aden approached Shells Town, he was using his power to listen to the sounds of the town. This was achieved by manipulating the air, and forcing it to carry the sound directly to him. And while he could only do this in one general direction, he could still listed to quite a big portion of the town. His main focus was the navy base. From there he could hear orders being shouted, by the captain on the base, presumably.
Shifting his focus a little, Aden heard folks speak of the bounty hunter currently tied up at the base.
"Gotta be Zoro." thought Aden to himself as he began his descent.
.
In a small alleyway, a silhuette of twisting wind appeared. As Aden reformed, he walked into the main street. Strolling along the different shops, stands and carts, he was looking for a bar, or any other such establishment.
"Now i wonder...Do i derail the story now, and meet Zoro first? Or do i wait for Luffy to make first contact, and go from there?" mused Aden in his head, as he spotted a pub.
" Fuck it. I got this second chance at life, and i will be damned if i follow some pre-written storyline. I will meet with Zoro, convince him to join us, or at least i'll try, and then go meet Luffy. " decided Aden as he turned away from the pub, and heades towards the Marine base.
.
.
.
At the Navy base courtyard, a green-haired man, wearing a white shirt, dark, almost black pants and a green belly warmer, was tied to a wooden cross. Upon closer look, he had three identical earrings, shaped as simple gold pendant in his left ear.
"Must've been here a while. He looks starved." thought Aden as he sat on the wall and watched.
.
A little girl is seen climbing a ladder to get over the navy base walls. Looking around, as to not be spotted, she jumps down and approaches Zoro.
"What do you want, kid?" asked Zoro irritably "If they see you talking to me they'll kill you."
"I brought you this onigiri. I made it myself. You look hungry so i wanted to help..." said the girl innocently.
"Well, well." sounded a snobbish, annoying voice of a blonde, bowl-haircut guy. "Helping the prisoner is a crime. I will have daddy execute you!"
"Hey! Leave the girl alone, Helmeppo!" shouted Zoro.
Ignoring Zoro, Helmeppo ripped the onigiri from the girl's hand and took a bite.
"*blegh* That's gross! You used sugar instead of salt, you foolish child!" shouted Helmeppo, dropped the onigiri on the ground and stomped on it a few times.
"Men! Throw this criminal over the wall!" ordered Helmeppo.
"But sir. She is just a child. She will die if we do that." said one of the marines in a shaky voice.
"Are you disobeying me?! I will have daddy execute you!"
"Sorry, kid. I hope you survive the fall." said the same marine as he grabbed the girl, and tosses her over the wall.
Screaming in terror, the girl began to pray. To whom or what, it did not matter to her. Just as long as she would survive.
As she was approaching the ground, she shut her eyes tight, and awaited her inevitable end.
However, just as she was about to hit the ground, a miracle happened. A sudden gust of wind, suddenly appeared and cushioned her fall. She floated slightly above ground for a few short moments, after which the wind was gone, and she fell on her butt.
"Ouch!" exclaimed the little girl as she fell.
"Thank you Mister Wind!" shouted the girl, in that bright-eyed wonder, only children are capable of, and ran off.
.
"You're welcome, kid." muttered Aden to himsel, as he watched the girl run back to town.
Jumping off of the wall, Aden approached the bounty hunter with a confident stride.
Zoro, not expecting another visitor, looked up to see a nearly two meter tall figure, with an air of confidence to them.
"Who are you? What do you want?" asked Zoro with a careful tone, sensing that the man in front of him is not to be taken lightly.
"My name is Aden D.Hum. And you must be the famous bounty hunter, Roronoa Zoro."
answered Aden with a smile.
"Yep. That's me, alright." said Zoro "You still didn't tell me what you want, though."
"Yes, yes. My apologies. I am here to set you free. And maybe convince you to join our pirate crew." said Aden nonchalantly.
"I refuse. I hunt pirates, not join them. Besides, I still have to survive two weeks. Then i will be released, as Helmeppo promised." said Zoro with disdain.
Aden remembering a small tidbit of information from the story about how Helmeppo lied to Zoro, and planned to execute him anyway, decided to share this information with the swordsman.
"You mean the same Helmeppo, that plans to execute you in only a few days?" asked Aden rhetorically.
"What! That can't be right...He promised!" Zoro seethed in response.
"Forgive me, Roronoa, but he does not strike me as a trustworthy individual." spoke Aden with a humorless chuckle.
"Yeah. Apparently he is not." Zoro hung his head in shame.
"Tell you what, Roronoa." said Aden with an idea "If you join us, i will help you get back at the brat, and his father. From what i hear, they are quite despised anyway."
"Hmm." contemplated Zoro "Fine. But the brat took my swords and i have no idea where he stored them." said Zoro decidedly.
" I'll go find them. In the meanwhile, wait here.
Less trouble that way. My captain will be here shortly. Just tell him we spoke. He will untie you."
" Hey wait! You can't just leave me here!" shouted Zoro in disbelief.
Instead of answering, Aden walked towards the base, disappearing into thin air, mid-step, leaving a very shocked swordsman behind.
"...What!?"
.
.
.
Meanwhile Luffy and Coby landed on the island, and made their way into a nearby tavern.
"Say, Coby. Where do we find the swordsman?" asked Luffy.
"Probably at the marine base." replied Coby nervously "But i don't think they would just let you speak to him."
"Hey! You guys want to talk to that bounty hunter?!" asked a random patron with anger.
"Yeah! I want to recruit him into my pirate crew." said Luffy cluelessly.
"They're with the bounty hunter! Get'em!" shouted the man to the others.
Everyone in the tavern got up, and charged at the duo.
.
After running away from the mob, and starting towards the base, Luffy and Coby were of differing moods.
Luffy was excited to meet the swordsman, while Coby was horrified, that this entire fiasco would prevent him from becoming a marine.
"I can't wait to recruit him." spoke Luffy excitedly.
"Luffy-san he is a pirate hunter, he will not join you." said Coby meekly.
"I have already decided he would. So he will." said Luffy with finality.
"That's not how it works!"
.
.
Aden was breezing through the base, looking everywhere for Zoro's swords.
"With the level of misplaced ego, the brat most likely hid them in his room. Now if only i could find it." thought Aden to himself as he floated out of another room by flowing through the gaps.
Just as he was getting annoyed, after minutes of searching, he finally located the brat's room.
The three katana were tossed next to a dresser, with zero care.
"Just for that disrespect i should gut him." mumbled Aden to himself.
Shaking his head, and reminding himself of the promise of not being needlesly violent he got rid of that thought.
All of a sudden he heard a huge crash from outside.
"If that ain't Luffy, i'll eat my daggers." thought Aden with a chuckle. Grabbing the swords, and jumping out of a window, he saw a huge statue laying broken in the courtyard.
He also spotted a familar, straw-hat wearing individual standing near a tied up, sword-less swordsman.
Rushing towards them he materialized along with the swords.
"What!? A Devil Fruit?! Here?!" screamed Morgan in confused anger.
"Hey, you're back." spoke the swordsman i slight surprise "And you kept your promise."
"I always do." said Aden cutting the ropes with his dagger. Handing the swords back to their owner, he turned towards the navy captain.
"Freeing the prisoner is a crime punishable by death sentence. Which will be carried out right now." spole Morgan, seething with rage.
"Shoot them!" ordered Morgan his men.
Multiple shots were fired towards the group, but mostly hitting Luffy as he stretched to cover Zoro. Aden didn't flinch as the bullets passed straight through him. Only thing he did, was use his power to slightly curve the bullets, so that they did not hit Coby behind him.
Luffy for his part bounced the bullets back at such a speed, he injured multiple marines.
"Another one!?" screamed Morgan with veins popping on his forehead.
"Nobody move." sounded an annoying voice
" I will shoot him!" spoke Helmeppo nervously, holding a gun to Coby's temple.
"Bad idea, pal." spoke Aden without even turning around.
" That's not a toy, you know." said Luffy seriously, getting ready to attack the brat.
"Gomu Gomu no...." began Luffy stretching his arm backwards.
"Oh no you don't!" shouted Morgan, charging at Luffy with his axe-hand poises to strike down.
"Pistol!" a fist flying at Helmeppo, hitting him square in the face, knocking him a couple meters away. Helmeppo crumpled to the ground with his face swelling and bleeding.
At that same moment, Morgan swung his axe-hand at Luffy, only to get stopped by Zoro, holding his swords in a crossed guard position, with a third sword held tightly in his teeth.
"Thanks...Zoro." said Luffy with a grin.
"No problem....Captain." replied Zoro through his teeth.
Luffy grinning happily, turned towards Morgan, flexing his bicep in preparation for a fight.
All of a sudden, a strong wind picked up. A wall of wind, creating a big circle around Luffy, Zoro and Morgan picked up speed, causing a lot of dust to be blown around.
"~ Wouldn't want anyone interfering with their business, now would we?~" spoke a disembodied voice from around all the marines.
Everyone of the men began to sweat in fear. Even being trained marines, nobody trained the to deal with an intangible, invisible enemy.
Seeing their fear, Aden appeared in the middle of the crowd, causing the men near him to jump back, scared.
" Here's the deal, guys. Anyone of you who attacks me, dies. Drop your weapons, and you will live. Simple as that." spoke Aden with a chilling edge to his voice.
Most of the marines did drop their weapons and got on the ground in surrender. But there were a few who did not seem to be inclined to live. As they charged at Aden, swords raised, Aden merely drew his daggers with a shrug, holding them in a reverse grip.
"Well... Can't say i didn't give you a chance."
As the first man got close, he took a wild swing at Aden.
Blocking a strike from the left, Aden responded with a slide to the right side of his attacker, delivering a slash to the man's jugular, causing blood to spray all over his clothes.
Rushing towards the next marine, Aden ducked under the sword aimed diagonally towards his left shoulder, going around the opponents right side, piercing his liver and twisting the dagger in one swiift move.
Seeing the last two marines a bit further away, Aden threw the daggers over his enemies heads. Thinking they head the chance now, that their enemy is unarmed, the marines increases their speed.
At that very moment, a simple twitch of Adens right index finger, caused a momentary, searing pain in the necks of both marines.
As they dropped dead, the handles of Aden's daggers could be seen sticking from the necks of the marines.
All this took place in less than ten seconds, leaving all the surrendering marines frozen in shocked terror.
Aden approched the to corpses, and pulled his daggers out of their spines.
"It didn't have to end like this." spoke Aden silently, as he swung his daggers downwards, while at the same time using his power to blow the blood away from both the daggers, and his clothes.
"HEEY!! ADEN! LET US OUT ALREADY!!!" was heard from within the small hurricane.
"Yeah yeah." sighed Aden as he forced the wind to settle.
"I see you beat the axe freak?" asked Aden with a smirk, already knowing the answer.
"Of course we did." answered Zoro with a grin, cleaning blood from his swords.
"So i'm guessing you're joining us?"
"Yeah. We did have a deal right?
"Right....We should get out of here." said Aden looking around "I'm going ahead. See if i can scrounge up some supplies. If you can get us a boat, i'll find you at the docks. Later." informed Aden as he disappeared into the wind.
"He really likes the disappearing act, huh?" asked Zoro incredulously.
"Yeah he does." smiled Luffy in response as they started ro walk away "But can you blame him, when it's so cool?" asked Luffy with a small sparkle in his eyes.
"I guess it is kinda cool." admitted Zoro "Say, Captain who is that guy anyway? He doesn't strike me as someone who would follow orders." spoke Zoro with uncertainty.
"He is the crew's quartermaster. And my older brother." answered Luffy with a smile "And as for following orders. Well, he always did what he wanted. So did i. But he always is willing to help me. He may not always do what i say, as his captain, but he will always have mine, and the crew's back. I know that." said Luffy with absolute trust in his big brother.
"Hmm. If you say so." responded Zoro, his nerves eased for now.
"By the way, i noticed he uses some unusual blades." said Zoro thoughtfully "How good is he with those? I might want to have a duel with him"
"Ermm...You will have to ask Aden." answered Luffy, avoiding the swordsman's question.
