Chapter 34: Titans III

The state of Marine base was in utter devastation, it was simply impossible for Ray to contain Kaido without extremely potent techniques so damage was unavoidable.

Ray's previous attack nearly enveloped half the island, of course he made sure to check if anyone was close before hand.

As the dust and debris cleared up, Kaido leaped once again from the crater he had been imbedded in. It seemed that was a recurring theme in this battle.

"I haven't felt pain like that... since those days, and you even use that man's techniques" voiced out Kaido in pain as he held his head with his left hand.

"This is just the beginning, Kaido" replied Ray as haki violently surged out of his body like tidal waves.

"Heh... we'll see just how long that haki of yours holds up" uttered Kaido as he also let his haki flow freely.

The ground trembled as Kaido dashed forwards and swung his kanabo overhead, a massive arc of raw power aimed to crush Ray. The force behind the strike was enough to deal significant damage to the island. Ray sidestepped with a dancer's grace, the kanabo missing him by mere inches, its momentum leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The earth cracked beneath it, sending rocks flying and Ray skidding back due to the shockwave.

Without hesitation, Ray darted back in, his blade flicking forward in a rapid thrust toward Kaido's wounded side. The strike was swift, but Kaido grunted and twisted just enough to turn the blow into a small cut. Kaido growled in anger, the wound not slowing him as he swung the club again with ferocity.

Thunder Bagua!

This time, Ray who saw the future had to leap backward as the kanabo came crashing toward him like a falling tree. He barely managed to roll out of the way, his feet skimming the dirt before he was on his feet again.

Kaido was relentless, charging after him, dragging his club through the air with a vicious howl as it radiated Conqueror's Haki.

Ray's heart raced, his muscles burning from the effort of avoiding the massive weapon at such speeds. He knew that a few clean hit from the club would change the course of this battle. He couldn't keep dodging forever. His eyes darted over Kaido's movements, calculating, waiting for that one crucial moment.

Kaido swung once again, Ray's eyes blazed as pushed his Observation Haki to the limit and saw his chance—a brief opening. He lunged forward, dodging the club's swing with barely a breath between them. His blade flicked out like lightning, striking at Kaido's leg. The blade slid across thick, calloused skin and sliced through it. Kaido roared in pain, but there was no time to savour it.

With a furious bellow, Kaido swung the club again, but this time with reckless abandon. His movements were wilder, full of anger, and Ray could see Kaido's Observation Haki becoming less potent. Ray ducked under one swing, and delivered a clean upper cut onto Kaido's chin. Kaido was swatted back like a bug and smashed through dozens of boulders in the process.

Once again showcasing his inhuman durability, Kaido got up and shook off the dizziness from the previous blow.

Kaido blitzed through the terrain like a cheetah and was once again above Ray as he swung his weapon down with vigour. Ray then sidestepped, his blade coming in just behind the club's arc, but Kaido's sheer size and power nearly knocked him off his feet as the kanabo scraped past him, sending him tumbling backward.

For a heartbeat, everything seemed to slow. Ray's head spun from the force of the near miss. His breath getting shallower, his limbs aching, but his mind remained sharp. Kaido was almost on top of him, closing the distance with a thunderous charge.

A storm raged above, dark clouds swirling like a living thing, thunder cracking through the heavens.

"Wo Ro Ro Ro, you'll never defeat me brat!" exclaimed Kaido as he closed onto Ray.

"I wouldn't be so sure, Kaido!" replied Ray with determination as he prepared another one of his techniques.

Kaido roared, raising his club—Kanabo—above his head, the earth itself seeming to tremble in fear as the massive weapon swung down toward Ray. The sheer size of the strike could flatten a mountain, but the Marine didn't flinch. Instead, he channelled his Conqueror's Haki into his katana, the blade shining with an otherworldly streak of lightning as he faced the oncoming storm.

One Sword Style- Armageddon!

With a single, precise swing, Ray released his own burst of Conqueror's Haki, enveloping his katana in a shockwave of energy. The force was so powerful that it tore through the air like a razor-edged storm, meeting Kaido's massive club with a thunderous crash.

The collision of their Haki-imbued attacks caused a shockwave that sent the very air ripping apart. The ground shattered beneath their feet, and the surrounding trees were reduced to splinters, the force of their clash pushing the landscape to its limits.

Kaido's grin widened. "Impressive, but still not enough."

Slowly overpowering Ray in the clash, Kaido broke through his guard and smashed the kanabo onto Ray, ultimately blasting him across the terrain. Seemingly, unsatisfied with the hit, Kaido chased after Ray before quickly appearing behind. Sensing doom through his Observation Haki, Ray tried to turn around and block but his senses were overloaded with pain as Kaido smashed him into the air with his weapon.

Immediately launching himself into air with his sheer physical strength, Kaido darted towards Ray whilst releasing an absurd amount of Conqueror's Haki which unleashed a tidal wave of destructive energy. The air crackled as Kaido prepared to unleash his deadly attack.

ZzzzZZzt

Appearing in front of Ray like a phantom, Kaido unleashed hell upon him as he swung his kanabo with unreal force.

Destroyer of death... Thunder... Bagua!

As the blow connected, large streams of purple lightning danced and devastated both Ray as well the Marine Base. Ray was launched onto the ground like a kite and the force in which he fell shattered the vicinity.

This clash demonstrated the raw, overwhelming power of Kaido's Conqueror's Haki paired with his monstrous strength, while Ray's determination and mastery of his own Conqueror's Haki makes him an unyielding opponent.

Both fighters pushed each other and went blow for blow but this attack would completely change the tide of their battle.
