Chapter 128: 128 Swordsman Duel: Tom Vs Hawkeye 02

"So fast!"

"Where's Mr. Cat?"

No one present, except Hawkeye, could keep track of Tom Cat.

Tom Cat seemed to have disappeared from the world.

At the same time, Hawkeye also moved.

Man and cat became streaks of lightning, criss-crossing through the air.

After a flash of swords, Hawkeye stood unharmed, calmly placing the small knife back into his necklace.

He murmured, "I wanted to spare your life, but fate has other plans."

"Tear~"

Tom's figure reappeared, taking a few sluggish steps forward.

A sharp crack formed between his brows, and his body split in two, collapsing to the ground.

"Master Cat!" the mouse cried in panic.

"Cat..."

Monet gasped, covering her mouth with her wings. Everything had happened so fast—too quickly for her to intervene.

"Woooooo~" The two bears hugged each other, tears streaming down their faces.

"So brave for an ordinary swordsman to challenge me. Time to go," Hawkeye said, losing interest. He glanced at the others, but left them alone.

He had expected more from the cat, thinking it must have some real strength to challenge him. But in the end, it was just an average swordsman—nothing special.

The dividing line between swordsmen has become huge.

A swordsman who has just learned to cut through iron is called a swordsman, and so is someone on the verge of becoming a great swordsman.

Though they share the same title, their combat abilities differ by hundreds of times.

"Huh? Where did the firecrackers come from?"

As Hawkeye was about to head back to the castle, a small red firecracker suddenly rolled up from nowhere.

It looked like the kind kids play with during the New Year.

Hawkeye glanced briefly at the tiny firecracker, barely the size of his pinky finger, and then looked away.

"Where's the cat?!"

But something felt off. When he looked again, Tom's body had disappeared.

Everyone else was right in front of him; there was no way someone had taken Tom's body without his noticing.

Unless… the cat wasn't actually dead.

How could that be?! He was certain he had cut the cat in half. Could this be some kind of Devil Fruit ability?

Hawkeye narrowed his eyes and activated his Observation Haki again, scanning the area for any sign of Tom's presence.

Suddenly, Hawkeye's expression changed for the first time. He actually discovered the danger from that small firecracker.

"Boom!!!"

The firecrackers suddenly exploded violently, and the explosion was no less than ten cannon shells exploding at the same time, engulfing Hawkeye in a massive explosion.

Hearing the explosion, the head of a British shorthair cat popped out of the ground nearby, eyes gleaming with wisdom as it looked toward the blast.

"Master Cat, you're alive?!"

The mouse exclaimed, changing from shock to joy. They knew Tom had some healing abilities, but usually, it was only for minor injuries like a broken arm or leg.

Who would have thought he could survive being split in half?

Monet's eyes narrowed in curiosity. What Devil Fruit did this cat eat?

After the explosion, a deep crater several meters wide formed at the site.

In the center of the pit stood a figure as black as coal.

"Hahahahaha~"

Looking at the black ball in front of him, Tom slapped his knees wildly and laughed.

But the next moment, Tom couldn't laugh anymore.

Hawkeye canceled the armament haki attached to his body, and the black powder covering his body also fell off.

Hawkeye's eyes gleamed with a trace of murderous intent as he stared coldly at Tom. "You threw that firecracker, Cat."

With a righteous look on his face, Tom shook his head repeatedly and pointed at Monet beside him.

As if he was just an innocent kitten.

However, at this moment, a firecracker happened to fall out of Tom's tail.

Everyone's eyes turned to Tom, creating an incredibly awkward moment. Realizing his trick had been exposed, Tom showed his teeth in a shy grin.

He quickly reached down to pick up the firecracker that had fallen on the ground.

Taking a deep breath, he exhaled some smoke and and spit out a line of words:

[As a swordsman, is it normal for me to carry a few firecrackers with me?]

Tom smiled innocently, making him seem like just an innocent little kitten to those who didn't know better.

In his haste, he didn't realize that a machine gun had fallen out from his tail fur.

Once fresh, twice familiar, this time Tom had experience and repeated his old tricks, taking a deep breath of cigarette.

[As a swordsman, is it normal for me to carry a few machine guns? ]

The mouse was speechless

. Monet was taken aback.

Brother Bear simply stared in confusion, thinking, "???"

Hawkeye's eyes narrowed as he focused intently on the cat in front of him.

The machine gun was larger than Tom's body—how did he hide it? Did he have some kind of extra-dimensional space in his tail?

And what about his ability to come back from the dead?

Hawkeye had traveled the seas for many years, but this was the first time he encountered such a strange Devil Fruit.

"Cat, your strength has earned my respect."

Mihawk pulled out the Supreme Black Sword Night hidden behind his back, "I will use this sword to defeat you."

Every Devil Fruit has its flaws, and there is no absolutely invincible Devil Fruit.

Hawkeye believed that if he could find the cat's flaw, he could stop its resurrection and truly kill it.

"If you're a swordsman, don't rely on tricks to fool me. Show me your swordsmanship! Let's have a proper duel between swordsmen!" Hawkeye was now very intrested by the cat.

It was more than just interest; it was appreciation.

There are not many creatures in the world who can withstand his sword.

Hearing Hawkeye's words, Tom Cat's expression condensed.

Yes, he was a swordsman! Swordsmen must uphold their dignity!

As he thought of this, Tom's aura transformed, embodying the spirit of a great hero.

Hawkeye's words brought back memories of his days as a guard for the Queen of England.

Tom carelessly tossed the drug he had just mixed into the bushes. He felt sorry for the group of orangutans that had finally woken up to watch the show.

However, as soon as they peeked out, they were showered with the potion.

Dozens of gorillas fell unconscious in the pink smoke.

Hawkeye couldn't help but think, what a strange cat!

Hawkeye and Tom Cat battled in front of the castle for three days and nights.

During this time, Tom Cat's weapon was cut off three hundred times.

Tom was cut in half seventy times, dismembered a hundred times, chopped into pieces three hundred times, smashed into a meat paste eleven times, and sliced into shreds nine hundred times.

No matter the horrific injuries Hawkeye inflicted on Tom Cat, both Tom and his weapons would instantly return to their original state.

Despite trying every conceivable method, Hawkeye had to accept that he couldn't kill Tom!

The setting sun cast a blood-red hue over the scene.

With the Black Blade Night pointed directly at Tom, Hawkeye's voice rang out, "That's enough for now, kitty. You don't have the talent to defeat me yet."

"Accept the title of Immortal Swordsman and sail the seas. Try to catch up with me until the day you believe you can defeat me!"

After saying this, Hawkeye sheathed his black blade and walked back to the castle with steady steps, his clothes untouched by dust.

A smile curled at the corner of his mouth. There was another interesting opponent on the sea.

Though currently weak, this opponent couldn't be killed.

The path of the sword was not a lonely one!
