At the Twin Capes, Ace gazed at Vivi with a gleam in his eye.

Since deciding to become the king of the world, how could he not have a Celestial Dragon among his crew? Moreover, what Im had said to the Five Elders in the original series—about needing Vivi—lingered in Ace's mind.

Vivi might harbor secrets even she is unaware of.

She seemed like a perfect candidate for his crew.

A few days ago, as Ace rode Laboon, conquering the waves, his Observation Haki detected Vivi. He deliberately pretended not to notice her and led her to this moment.

Vivi had just joined Baroque Works and was eager to prove herself. Ace's lips curled into a smirk. Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, could prove a powerful foe. Taking him down would elevate Ace's strength even further.

"Are you sure about this decision? Once you choose a route, you can't change it," Crocus said seriously, looking at Ace.

"If we don't like the route, we'll just pick a new one," Ace responded with a confident grin.

Crocus laughed at this bold statement, admiration evident in his eyes. "A man worthy of wielding Conqueror's Haki," he thought.

Ace turned to Vivi. "How about we head to your town next?"

Vivi pressed her lips together, remaining silent for a moment. She had the uneasy feeling that Ace could see right through her.

"Thank you so much!" Mr. 9 interjected, his expression exaggeratedly grateful, fearing Ace might change his mind.

"The route is set! Let's sail!" Ace pointed towards the sea, laughing.

"If the captain has spoken, we'll make that our next stop," Nojiko said with a smile.

Though Nami still had her suspicions about Vivi and Mr. 9, her trust in Ace kept her from voicing them. She turned her attention to the charts.

Kaya, meanwhile, followed Ace's commands without question, and Tashigi, gripping her sword, sat quietly in the corner, her mind clouded with complex thoughts.

Crocus and Laboon watched in silence as the Going Merry sailed into the distance.

"They'll be back, Laboon," Crocus chuckled.

"Woo!" Laboon let out a heartfelt cry toward the sky.

"Portgas D. Ace... Roger, could this be the man we've been searching for? I see a shadow of you in him. No, when you were his age, you didn't carry yourself with such grace," Crocus mused, wiping his eyes at the memories. He smiled, confident that Ace's name would one day resonate across the seas.

He looked forward to that day with anticipation.

——

After their goodbyes to Laboon and Crocus, the Going Merry sailed towards Whiskey Peak.

At first, the sea seemed calm, but suddenly, a thick fog descended over them.

"Wait a minute!" Nami shouted, noticing the Log Pose on her wrist.

"Turn the ship 180 degrees, Nojiko!" Nami called out, panic in her voice.

"180 degrees? That'll send us back the way we came!" Nojiko asked, confused, but she wasted no time in adjusting the rudder.

"We were heading backwards... How did that happen?" Nami muttered, staring at the Log Pose in disbelief. "We only took our eyes off it for a second."

"In the Grand Line, you can't trust charts or wind direction. The only thing reliable is the Log Pose. Are you really a navigator?" Vivi and Mr. 9 glanced at Nami with suspicion.

"Shut your mouth! Say another word and I'll throw you overboard!" Nami snapped, visibly annoyed.

"Sorry..." Vivi and Mr. 9 immediately backed down, realizing they had pushed too far.

Suddenly, the sky darkened as thick clouds gathered, and moments later, snow began falling from the heavens.

"What's happening?!" Nami shouted, her voice filled with frustration. The navigation skills she once prided herself on felt useless in this unpredictable sea.

"Calm down, Nami," Ace said softly, resting his hand on her head. "You're my navigator."

Nami looked up at Ace, his calm smile filling her with confidence. She grinned, regaining her composure.

"Yes! I'm Ace's navigator!" she declared, touching the Entei Pirates' symbol on her arm with newfound determination.

With her confidence restored, Nami quickly resumed her work. Ace, secretly using his Realm of Comprehension, boosted her natural talents.

Though Nami's skills were enough to navigate even these treacherous seas, Ace used this rare opportunity to maximize her potential.

For the next few hours, they faced rapidly changing weather—strong winds, heavy rain, snowstorms—all within half a day. Yet, Nami issued precise, flawless instructions, guiding them through the chaos with ease.

Her connection to the sea grew stronger, and her abilities improved dramatically. Vivi, watching in amazement, couldn't believe her eyes.

"How did one word from this man cause such a transformation in the navigator?" Vivi thought to herself. She couldn't help but feel drawn to Ace's leadership, wondering what destiny he might have meant earlier.

——

Soon, with Nami and Nojiko working in perfect harmony, Cactus Island and Whiskey Peak appeared on the horizon.

"Haha! Nami, Nojiko, you two are amazing! You've truly earned your titles as my navigator and helmsman," Ace praised, laughing heartily.

Hearing this, both Nami and Nojiko felt a special warmth in their hearts.

Ace turned to Kaya and Tashigi. "And you two did great with the steering as well," he added.

Kaya smiled sweetly, while Tashigi's expression turned slightly awkward.

Mr. 9 and Vivi, having done none of the hard work, grumbled to themselves.

Ace chuckled, hearing their complaints. "I'm the captain. On the sea, I trust my crew with my life."

Even Nami and Nojiko couldn't help but smile fondly at Ace's words.

Tashigi, however, remained silent, her emotions swirling in a storm of confusion.

"Hump, stupid pirate. Oi, Miss Wednesday? What's with the change in your expression?" Mr. 9 muttered, noticing Vivi's thoughtful look.

"It's nothing," Vivi replied, suppressing the strange feelings stirring inside her. A companion you could entrust your life to...

"Alright, let's get going," Mr. 9 said, motioning for Vivi to follow him as they crept toward the edge of the deck.

"Thanks for bringing us back! We'll be taking our leave!" Mr. 9 called out with a strange laugh before jumping into the sea with Vivi, heading toward the shore.

"What are they doing?" Nami asked, watching the two swim away in confusion.

"Don't worry about them," Ace said nonchalantly. "We'll run into them again soon enough."

As he gazed toward Whiskey Peak, a smile crept across his face.

Upon closed the island, cheers erupted from the island as they approached.
