Omnitrix: DC's New Dawn

Chapter 127: 126 - Rematch

[I'm a worse sinner that I ever understood , and I am more loved than I hoped for.

- Cliff ]

Kara's figure materialized against the raging snowstorm.

She had received Batman's Alert, news of Superman's Capture and his plans to rescue him. He had asked them, The Justice League(She part-times), to prepare, be ready to fight an army of Kryptonians that will be released from the Phantom Zone.

And when She read it, one name came to her mind, Dru-Zod

Her eyes glowed with tamed anger as she forced open the fortress's door instead of using the comically massive key. The fortress hummed in resistance, its infant security system activating to stop the intruder and lock her out.

Many blasters pointed at her, Destructo-Bots appearing to neutralize the threat.

"Kara Zor-El," Kara spoke her name, her tone neutral.

The systems that were aiming for her head halted in its step, recognizing the intruder as one of the authorized. The System was designed to keep the outsiders from getting in, not the other way.

Kara pushed past the hovering destructo-bots and strode straight to where the Phantom Zone projector was located. All while, her eyes searched for the Phantom mummy who had stolen the Projector..

Her steps only halted when she arrived before the cracked Screen of the Phantom Zone and its Projector missing from the support. Her eyes narrowed, her rage nearly tipping over. But she pulled together.

'Never let anger control you' (Barda's words)

'Let anger strengthen you amidst pain' (Zion's)

Kara shifted her vision, going through the Elector-magnetic Spectrum to find any trace left by the intruder or the Projector. Her eyes found no trace until she looked to the subatomic levels. Traces of residual energies left by the Projector's core.

Her eyes lightened in hope, following the residual trace of the projector. She followed the trail through the Fortress, crossing chambers filled with Superman's trophies, Zoos for various creatures that Brainiac stored, and Shrunken cities.

Whoever the person was, they traversed through out the fortress, checking it all. Kara's steps hurried, the trail thinning. The traces completely disappeared when she returned to the fortress entrance.

It ended here, pointing into the storm of snow that rage and changed, washing away even the atomic traces.

Kara did not stop, she strode into the blizzard. Even if this storm covered the whole world, she will find that projector and bring Kal-El back. She will not lose her family again. She had lost one world, not another.

The blizzard raged around her, soft snow crunching under her steps, yet leaving no traces of her prints. Her vision obscured by the swirling snow, her sensitive ears assaulted by the grinding wind. Her breath cold, chill trying to seep into her skin.

Standing in it, she felt... almost human.

*Clank*

The sound of clanking metal and green sparks brought her attention back from the momentary peace.

Her eyes turned to the attacker, her face familiar. Green light of Kryptonite splashed across her face, revealing the old enemy. Faora-Ul. An old adversary she had fought in a lost world. Kara felt the old memories rush in, placing her in a daze.

Faora looked at the broken Kryptonite Knife, its edge shattered on contact. Her ambushed had failed, but her years of training kicked in. Her hands lashed out like a whip cracking through the air.

But the blade sung not,

Its ragged edges sparked against Kara's bare skin, unable to penetrate her soft skin. Yet, it brought Kara out of her daze and focused her. Kara's eyes stared deep into Faora's brown eyes, filled determination, but also vigilance. Her hands tensing to push the broken blade deeper.

But it would not move,

All it took was a moment for Kara to realize her position. She was attacked by another Kryptonian, a close associate of Zod. Who didn't know Kryptonite doesn't work on her. Moreover, who didn't have the strength to overpower her defenses.

Kara's emotions went from raging storm to a calm ocean.

Kara's pressed lips curled into a familiar smirk, one of absolute confidence, of disdain toward the opponent. One Zion had when he fought. (Do not tell her that!)

Faora recognized the shift, and her honed instincts warned her. She immediately kicked the ground and made distance between her and Kara. She had expected to neutralize the girl with a single strike, but the Kryptonite was useless.

Faora sheathed the blade, ready to fight this the old way. She drew her blade, ready to fight to death.

"Where is Zod?" Kara asked her calmly.

"Surrender," Faora demanded, her weapon raised. "We shall bring Krypton back."

Kara sneered, "You Krypton is nothing by Tyranny. And You sure you can even take over this world?"

"We have captured Superman," Faora answered.

"Not Kal-El," Kara said

"We got ways to deal with Nion," Faora answered in confidence. "He will be nothing but a stepping Zone."

Kara couldn't intensify her sneer more, "You overestimate."

Kara's body began to float, her blue eyes turning red with intensity. Her Red-Blue suit turned black and Silver, her 'S' radiating with power.

"You will not have this world," Kara's figure flickered like a shadow under a candlelight. Her words whispering amidst the snowstorm.

Faora raised her weapon, ready for the confrontation.

*Boom*

Faora felt her vision shift at high speed, her ribs crushed and her tongue tasted blood. Her body broke through the blizzard. The resulted shockwave dispersing the storm. Faora struggled to regain control, accessing her flight to slow her momentum.

"You will not have this world," Kara's appeared like a phantom before Faora, fist connecting with her jaw at full force.

Kara felt her hand sink, bones shattered and windpipe collapse. An attack so deadly it would have killed a normal person. But the streaking figure was anything but dead. Her skin broken bones realigned and her organs regenerated as she absorbed more sunlight.

And Kara wanted her alive,

Kara moved, her figure blurring from the first layer of space.

When Faora regained her vision, all she saw was the shadow of an angry goddess of fury, her eyes glowing red with fury, her fist moving like lighting, carrying momentum that could turn mountains to dust.

And Her grin wide with blood-lust.

Faora saw her death, her soft hands reaching towards her.

*Boom*

Foara fell like lightning.
