In the face of accusations and questioning from the daimyo's office, as well as the villagers' outrage, the Third Hokage personally issued a public announcement about human experimentation.

Once the announcement was made, all of Konoha erupted in an uproar.

Previously, people only had suspicions, but the announcement confirmed the truth of the matter.

The Third Hokage expressed his apologies to the villagers. It was due to his negligence that such dark experiments occurred within Konoha. It was also because of his trust that Danzo and Orochimaru were able to extend their reach.

While the Third Hokage didn't shy away from responsibility, the ones to bear the most blame were undoubtedly Danzo and Orochimaru.

"How interesting."

The villagers might not have noticed, but Kazuki spotted the cunning nature of this announcement. Although the Third Hokage didn't shirk his responsibility, his fault was portrayed merely as negligence.

On the surface, he appeared to take responsibility, but in reality, the blame was shifted entirely onto Orochimaru and Danzo.

"I trusted them, but they betrayed my trust and even used their positions to commit such heinous crimes."

As for supporting these experiments? That was out of the question. It was all done secretly by Danzo and Orochimaru.

Although the villagers' anger is now directed at the Third Hokage, over time, it will be redirected toward Danzo and Orochimaru. And with Orochimaru having become a rogue ninja and Danzo imprisoned, once the Third Hokage pushes Tsunade into the spotlight, he'll be able to retire peacefully.

He really deserves the title of Hokage—he's a master at exploiting loopholes.

The loophole allowed him to pass off responsibility without anyone realizing it.

After all, neither Orochimaru nor Danzo can defend themselves. One is a criminal, and the other is a rogue ninja—no one would believe anything they say.

"Hey kid, are you lost?"

Leaning against the wall, Kazuki looked amusedly at a young boy curiously wandering around the police department.

"Ah!!"

Startled, Sasuke, who had been looking around, quickly straightened up and bowed respectfully toward Kazuki.

"Hello, sir."

Kazuki walked up, and before Sasuke could react, he pinched Sasuke's cheek and pulled it gently to the sides.

"Sir?"

Sasuke immediately pulled away, rubbing his reddened cheek as he cautiously took two steps back.

'So annoying! He pinched my face again.'

"Alright, I'm just messing with you."

Kazuki restrained himself from teasing Sasuke further. He didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea and think he was up to something bad with the kid.

"Shouldn't you be in school today?"

"School's already on break. I got top grades, so my father agreed to take me to the police department." Sasuke proudly lifted his head, bragging about his achievement.

Before the Uchiha clan massacre, Sasuke was a more lively and playful child. Of course, he only acted like this around people he knew well. If facing strangers, Sasuke would try his best to act cool.

"Really?"

Kazuki smiled in surprise. "Well, it may just be kiddie grades, but getting top marks is still impressive."

'Damn it!! It was such great results, and he's calling it kiddie play.' Sasuke puffed up his cheeks, clearly annoyed.

The ninja academy's report card?

To Kazuki, it really did seem like child's play. In fact, if it weren't for appeasing the village, the children of the major clans wouldn't need to attend the academy at all.

The basics taught at school were things the clans had been teaching their children from an early age.

For example, chakra refinement, ninjutsu, taijutsu, and swordsmanship were all things clan children learned early on, which is why their grades were generally better than those of civilian children.

For clan kids, attending the academy was more about socializing and making new friends.

"Still not convinced?"

Maybe I should teach this brat a lesson.

Just then, Fugaku, who was walking out of the office with Itachi, saw what was happening and said to Sasuke:

"Your senior is offering to give you a private lesson. Aren't you going to thank him?" Fugaku had been thinking of a reason to arrange this, and Kazuki conveniently showed up.

Sasuke idolized Itachi, wanting to emulate everything his brother did. Fugaku didn't like this. He didn't want Sasuke to live in Itachi's shadow, especially since the two brothers had very different personalities. Forcing Sasuke to follow in Itachi's footsteps wasn't good.

He didn't have the time to personally educate Sasuke, but there were many suitable candidates in the clan. Kazuki was one of them, and since he was here, Fugaku figured he might as well take advantage of the opportunity.

"Huh?" Sasuke was stunned.

Kazuki, meanwhile, looked helplessly at Fugaku. 'Are you really just dumping your son on me? I was only teasing him, and now you want me to mentor him?'

"Thank your senior properly," Itachi said, pressing down on his brother's head to make him bow in thanks.

"Don't call him 'senior.' Call him 'sensei.'" Fugaku, arms crossed, continued to encourage the situation.

"Okay," Sasuke said, still confused about why his father and brother were pushing this, but obediently bowed and thanked Kazuki, saying, "Thank you, sensei."

"Wait—"

Kazuki pushed Sasuke's head aside. "Clan leader, isn't this a bit unfair?"

He already had enough on his plate. Where would he find the time to teach a kid, especially the clan leader's son?

If he went too hard on Sasuke, it wouldn't be good. But if he went too easy, Sasuke wouldn't learn anything, which would make the lessons pointless It might even backfire on Kazuki, making people criticize him for not being able to properly educate a child.

"Itachi, the village still needs help with the rescue effort. Take a team over to assist."

"Yes, sir." Fugaku quickly sent Itachi away.

Before leaving, Itachi made sure to give his brother a look that said, "Be good and listen to what the senior teaches you."

'I only came to the police department to hang out, not to find a teacher.' Sasuke was feeling rather aggrieved.

School was out, and he'd wanted to spend time with his brother, but now he was stuck with this.

Sasuke had no idea why his father wanted Kazuki to be his teacher. All he knew was that he didn't have the right to refuse or choose.

Sasuke wasn't the type to sit still, either.

As soon as he accomplished something, he'd get cocky, which often led to him getting beaten down.

In the original story, Kazuki's impression of Sasuke was that he was talented, but...

Either he was getting beaten up, or he was on his way to get beaten up. After watching Naruto, Kazuki could only conclude that Sasuke was a rather unlucky and pitiful character.

'I've helped you before.' Fugaku's silent implication was clear.

Kazuki: "-_-"
