Naruto : Minato back to the past

"Hiss."

The Konoha ninja outside the tent heard a series of sharp intakes of breath coming from within and couldn't help but glance over, curiosity etched on their faces. They wondered what could have shocked the Konoha leaders inside.

Inside the tent, Tsunade and the others were visibly stunned, their expressions transformed by disbelief.

"What did you say?" Tsunade stammered, her shock evident as she looked at Sakumo, as if she had misheard what he had just said. Even Hyuga Tenki and Aburame Shiki, both clan leaders, couldn't stay calm, their gazes filled with confusion as they stared at Sakumo. Orochimaru, regarded as a genius by the Third Hokage, found it equally hard to believe what Sakumo had just claimed.

They all knew the vast difference between learning ninjutsu and developing it, and none could fathom the idea that Minato had mastered, let alone created, an S-rank ninjutsu. Not only was Minato still a few months shy of his eleventh birthday, but even across the long history of the ninja world, the number of geniuses capable of developing ninjutsu was exceedingly rare.

As for developing an S-rank ultimate ninjutsu? There were only a handful of individuals who had ever achieved such a feat. Even many of the most gifted ninjas might never be able to develop an S-rank jutsu in their lifetime. If someone else had spoken these words, the group would have burst into laughter.

It would have sounded like a fairy tale.

But this was Sakumo speaking. They knew his character well and understood that he wasn't one to joke, especially not in such a serious situation.

All eyes were now fixed on Sakumo, yet he remained unperturbed by their stares. If he hadn't witnessed it with his own eyes, even Sakumo himself wouldn't have believed it.

Shrugging his shoulders, Sakumo glanced at Minato, then turned back to the others and said, "You can explain it to them yourself."

Sakumo had promised Minato that he would help keep the fact that he was developing a new ninjutsu a secret. But since Minato had already mentioned it in front of them, Sakumo no longer intended to hide it.

Minato raised his eyes, exchanging a brief glance with Sakumo, before noticing the unnerving looks he was getting from Tsunade and the others. He understood their shock. After all, they didn't know the truth: despite looking like an eleven-year-old boy, Minato had actually lived for more than thirty years, spanning two lives.

Even with that advantage, developing an S-rank jutsu in such a short time was still a testament to his genius.

Buzz.

Knowing that verbal explanations alone would be insufficient, Minato simply raised his hand and conjured a Rasengan in his palm. Although Minato had used the Rasengan on the battlefield, this was the first time Tsunade, Orochimaru, and the others had seen it up close.

Tsunade's eyes locked on the swirling chakra in Minato's hand. After a moment of hesitation, she exclaimed, "You can actually manipulate chakra to this degree! What kind of ninjutsu is this?"

As a medical ninja, Tsunade had a keen understanding of chakra control, so she quickly grasped the underlying principle behind the Rasengan. Her reaction drew the attention of Orochimaru and Aburame Shiki, who also studied the Rasengan in surprise. They had never encountered anything like it before.

Hyuga Tenki activated his Byakugan, veins bulging around his eyes as he peered into the Rasengan, observing the high-speed rotation of the chakra within Minato's hand. In principle, the Rasengan was somewhat similar to the Hyuga clan's secret technique, Kaiten (Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven). However, while Kaiten required the user to spin their body and release large amounts of chakra continuously, the Rasengan was sustained by a fixed amount of chakra.

Although the scale of the Rasengan was smaller than Kaiten, its technical difficulty made it far more challenging to master.

The four of them watched as Minato effortlessly formed the Rasengan without using any hand seals. This unfamiliar technique, with its exceptional skill and precision, left them both awed and curious.

Minato, seeing their astonished expressions, smiled and said, "This is Rasengan, a jutsu I created."

When he finished, Tsunade and the others couldn't help but twitch in disbelief. Sakumo had tried to prepare them earlier, but they had all secretly wondered if the Rasengan had a different origin. Now, faced with the undeniable truth, they had no choice but to accept it.

For a brief moment, the air inside the tent seemed to freeze. Only the hum of the Rasengan's chakra, spinning at high speed, broke the silence. Tsunade, Orochimaru, Hyuga Tenki, and Aburame Shiki stared at Minato, their faces stiff, their pupils filled with incredulous expressions.

Minato did his best to ignore their gazes, while Sakumo watched with an amused smile.

"Monster," Tsunade finally murmured, breaking the silence.

Minato's lips twitched slightly at the comment. After Tsunade spoke, the others followed suit.

"Yeah."

"That's right."

"Are you really only eleven years old?"

Hyuga Tenki, Aburame Shiki, and Orochimaru all expressed their disbelief in turn. Each had silently evaluated the Rasengan's complexity, deeming it a high-level, A-rank secret ninjutsu. For Minato, an eleven-year-old, to develop such a technique was beyond their comprehension. The only word that came to mind was "monster."

"You little brat," Tsunade said with a bitter smile, "how far do you intend to go before making the rest of us look utterly inadequate? Nawaki wanted to catch up to you, but now it seems he was just humiliating himself."

At Minato's age, being a Special Jonin, developing A-rank ninjutsu, and contributing to battle strategies, any one of these would be considered an exceptional talent. For all of these to be present in a single person was simply unprecedented.

Minato laughed awkwardly.

"So, what is this S-rank ninjutsu you developed?" Tsunade asked, her tone shifting. To her, Minato was a boy who defied conventional thinking, a true enigma.
