Chapter 9: ‘‘Was It all A Dream…?’’
The silver-haired Moka calmly stared straight at the contorted countenance of Saizou, filled with rage and veins, and without caring about the punch that was about to impact her, backed by Sazou’s completely monstrous strength. The silver-haired Moka’s soft rosy lips tightened and her eyes burned with such intense anger, that it resembled a molten magma that could not be contained nor be put off — completely contrasting with the cool and calm facial expression she was donning.
‘‘As for you… Know Your Place!’’
In that single breath of instant, Saizou, the one doing the attacking, didn’t have the slightest clue as to what and how it happened. All he could tell was that — the direct moment his punch was about to land on the beautiful yet dangerous woman whose radiant immense power pressing down on him — at that single breath of instant; his eyes were only able to catch sight of a pale, smooth leg arriving close and strike the right side of his jaw without him even having the thought of avoiding it.
“Bang! Crack!’’
With the sicking sound of bones shattering from an immense impact — out of nowhere, Saizou’s seemly unstoppable menacing figure that had struck fear into the depths of Tsukune and the pink-haired Moka heart — was lifted from the ground up and sent airborne back like a ball launching from a cannon.
Destroying withering trees along the way before descending down at a rapid pace; skipping through the ground while smashing apart any tombstones or other things along the way.
And soon after, with a final thud, Saizou's large burly body came to a halt after losing much force from skipping through the ground.
Covered in small rubble with the surrounding debris piling atop him, Saizou's eyes were briefly pure white; losing any chance of consciousness after being brutally struck by the silver-haired Moka kick and sent flying back.
However, with a strong physique and tough vitality that no human can match up to, it only takes him a few seconds or so before the blonde monster's pure white eyes revert back to its original black pupils — showing a sign of him gradually recovering.
‘‘Argh…!’’
As Saizou hadn't regained full consciousness after being knocked and sent flying, his hazy eyes were unable to make out his surroundings at first, so he could only scan the area around with uncertainty and confusion in those hazy eyes of his. But as he felt the right side of his blooded jaw burning hotly with extreme pain streaming through the area up to his brain, he touched the broken jaw with a groan, quickly becoming aware of what happened to him.
Becoming aware of what had occurred, Saizou scrambles up with a grunt, the previous arrogance he had shown the entire time during the course of the event, crumbled apart like a thin piece of paper, filling him with cold sweat as panic and fear directly built up in him.
While he didn’t know the full story because everything transpired way too fast; not allowing him to react at all. He could still however remember the earth-shattering kick that had struck his now shattered right jaw. And it didn’t take long for him to figure out whom the kick belonged to!
‘‘You’re quite durable, I thought that kick would have sent your head flying… but you’re still alive. I would love to make you pay greatly for your action in the most painful manner. It's frustrating that I don’t have time and can only allow you a quick death!’’
Mere moments later, voices of the source of Saizou’s terror entered his ears, causing a chilling shiver to run down his spine. Overcome with fear, he didn’t waste time directing his attention on the owner of the cold voice — noticing her arriving just a few feet of distance from him.
‘‘Wa-wait, let's talk things out!’’
Having tasted the power of that one kick, Saizou lost all confidence in going up against this monster, not hesitating to wave his hand around, hoping for her mercy. Unfortunately, the dense crimson energy swirling around her only became stronger at his plea, while the murderous intent in her slit demonic red irises surged.
Choosing to not speak nonsense with someone like this, the silver-haired Moka blitzed above Saizou and directly planted a downward kick at an unseeable speed right at the center of his head.
“Bang! Crack!”
A sickening noise sounded out the instant the kick connected, accompanied by a boom as the force from it drove and planted Saizou’s entire body to the ground. A small dust cloud rose up as the ground collapsed from the impact.
Wh… What?!
Strong and tenacious as he was, Saizou didn’t immediately die even after having his head cave in and his skull crushed from the silver-haired Moka's brutal kick. However, unfortunately for him, by the look of it, he wasn’t going to be alive for long either way.
‘‘Hmph!’’
However, even that brief moment of staying alive wasn’t given to him, as a cold snort rang out from the silver-haired Moka. Following the cold snort, the silver-haired Moka stomped down on Saizou’s deforming, bleeding head. Completely bursting apart the head like one would do to a melon.
With his head completely crushed to a pulp from the single stomp, brain matter, and blood spewed out as Saizou — the source of everything that had currently transpired today — had died, unable to even have time for regret at his own action.
…
Is it over... already?
After the once loud banging noise that had ranged out more than once died out completely — leaving the area engulfed in silent stillness. Tsukune made a thoughtful guess; seemingly devoid of worry — looking almost too comfortable despite knowing the fact that Moka was fighting the nightmare that had been plaguing him in the span of two days attending this damned Academy.
However, no one could blame him for not worrying though. After all, anyone who saw what he had would also stop worrying about Moka. I can’t believe she was that terrifying after taking that damn thing off… Tsukune visualizes the scene in his mind again.
The scene of the silver-haired Moka… standing tall and straight with one leg raised up above her head in a perfect stance, seeming so elegant in that pose, with her icy exterior only further making the sight unforgettable to the mind.
But that wasn’t what had caught Tsukune’s attention… No! The thing that caught his attention was the sight of the invincible monster in his mind, the one who made him feel traumatized, and the one who landed him in this state. Being sent flying through the air the second his fist was about to reach the silver-haired Moka.
Seeing the sight of Moka looking completely fine while Saizou blasting back like a kite with its string cut. It didn’t take a genius to figure out the outcome of the clash between the two monsters.
Watching her storming off after that display of power... The worry, fear, anger, and every other emotion grasping tightly at his chest throughout the whole ordeal — seemed to evaporate away with that single performance from the silver-haired Moka — leaving him rather mentally lax and at peace of mind.
However, I’m feeling quite unbearably… Sleepy.
After all the burdensome emotion weighing heavily down on him was lifted from his shoulder, Tsukune noticed extreme drowsiness, unlike anything he ever felt before, seemingly about to overwhelm him to a point where just keeping his eyelid from shutting down was taxing.
I guess... I’m about to die, huh? Trying to withstand the drowsiness from taking him, Tsukune questions in his mind, suddenly having a premonition that he wouldn’t be able to wake up again if falling asleep now.
Unfortunately, unwilling or not, the urge to just close his eyes and slumber didn’t care for his persistence in trying to cling to life. Thankfully, there was one thing he was grateful for, and that was the fact he couldn’t feel any pain whatsoever, or anything at all for that matter as his body had long gone numb.
Losing sensation in every nerve in his body.
After all, while nobody truly wants to die, if you're going to meet your end anyway... wouldn’t it be much more preferable for you that there’s no pain attached to it?
I’m about to die and this is what I spend thinking about? Unbelievable!
In movies or manga, when characters died they usually thought about their family and other loved ones they would leave behind. But in his case, he instead mused about how dying painlessly was something to be grateful for.
Tsukune couldn’t help but find his own thoughts quite amusing, wanting to chuckle inwardly just to relish a few laughs for the last time. But at this point, even such a thing was impossible as his mind became hazy, clouded by the surging drowsiness overcoming him.
Thud, Thud, Thud!
Just right as his eyes are about to close completely from the surging drowsiness, Tsukune's ear picks up on a light footstep racing and arrives next to him. When he heard the light footsteps, he directly assumed that it was the silver-haired Moka, as it couldn’t be Saizou since the monster's footsteps were usually slow and quite loud thudding because of his large size.
‘‘I won’t let you die.’’
The silver-haired Moka voice rang softly in his ears.
Signed. I- I don’t like false hope, Moka!
Those were his last thoughts before darkness completely engulfed him.
...
Hmm...
What’s going on…?
Everything is so dark… Where am I anyway?
Urgh…!
The heck!
What is this unbearable heat!?
It’s like I’m fucking being fried from the inside!!
Arggggh!!!
‘‘Fuck, It’s too damn hot! Someone needs to turn on the freaking AC now before I’m fried alive!’’
Rising from the bed with cold sweat dripping down from his head, Tsukune couldn’t help but cry out when feeling like the unbearable heat might burn him alive.
...
Moments later.
‘‘…The heck, the heat is suddenly gone!’’
‘‘...’’
‘‘But where am I, what happen…?’’
He questioned when scanning his confused gaze around the unfamiliar neat room filled with things like a desk, books, and some plush toys.
At first, when Tsukune was suddenly shot awoke from experiencing the most intense firing heat that felt like it would burn him alive from the inside. His mind was unclear and he couldn’t pay attention to his surroundings at all, but as the heat suddenly disappeared like it was never there, he immediately began to notice the unfamiliar room he was awakened in.
‘‘Also, why am I dressed in such torn-off cloth— Urgh!’’
As if waking up in an unfamiliar room was not shocking enough to the young man, gazing down and seeing his badly torn clothes staining red all over with something that seemed very similar to blood. Tsukune was so shocked by it, that he felt his soul might leave his body, but the painful headache that suddenly came as countless streams of memories began to resurface within him made his mind clear.
‘‘... didn’t I die, why am I alive and also perfectly fine too!?’’ After the sudden headache and the flood of memories, Tsukune still couldn’t help but be confused when checking himself and seeing no sign of wounds nor any shattering bones that he should have sustained after… what Saizou had done to him.
‘‘Was it all a dream…?’’ Unable to understand what’s going on or how he ends up in this room when he should be dead, Tsukune questions if everything he experienced was just a dream or a fragment of his imagination. ‘‘No. These torn clothes and blood are proof that it was all real…’’ But the state of his uniform immediately caused him to discard the idea that everything was just a dream.
