Mercenary Harem in Murim Novel

Chapter 198 – Swordman’s Dream

Leo also heard the noise she talked about. A roaring of engines. He looked back and saw dust being raised from behind a hill. It was from an armored vehicle that approached them.

There was not only one armored vehicle, but also a dozen others following it. There were even trucks following behind the armored vehicles.

Leo recognized those armored vehicles. He gave them to Jack, Shui, and Astrid for their mission.

But what were they doing here?

"I called them, Leader." Jessica answered him, seeing his expression, "When you said that we are going to the Capital to deal with the puppets and humans, I contacted Jack. But because the situation had changed, I told them to help with the evacuation instead."

"Good judgment." Leo nodded at her and smiled.

Jessica was his right-hand, and she was really good at making decisions. She could also adapt to changes quickly. That's why he trusted her to manage his organization. Her quick wit and decision-making were his saving grace many times.

The group of vehicles with Jack driving the frontmost armored vehicle passed them, circling slightly to avoid the area where Wandering Sword Saint and Heart fought. Jack saluted at Leo as he passed, and the latter nodded.

"Jessica, help the evacuation too. As for Sherly... Well, I will need you here, so stay."

"Yes, Leader." Jessica answered and ran toward the nearest vehicle, hopping on it.

"Eh, you need me? I guess I have no other choice but to stay." Sherly said with a small smile.

Ignoring her, he turned to the other fight happening in the area. His face hardened and a frown appeared on his forehead as he saw that Wandering Sword Saint had a hard time dealing with Heart. He was breathing roughly while Heart's regeneration was keeping him from getting a hit.

The boy was still surrounded by the dark mist, which healed him. Wandering Sword Saint was trying to kill him and had no problem cutting his body, but the boy would just heal again.

"Sherly."

At that moment, Leo decided on something. He wouldn't help the fight directly, but he could help Wandering Sword Saint by doing something.

"Yes?"

"Can you suck in that fog?"

Leo wasn't surprised by Sherly's change of element. He had heard from her beforehand. She bragged about her 'reincarnation' or 'transmigration' cheat that allowed her to change elements. But that didn't mean he would just stand and do nothing.

"Leave it to me, Leader." Sherly said as she brandished her staff.

"Wind of Tempest."

A tornado emerged from the end of the staff and sucked the dark fog, making it disappear from the place. However, as expected, the fog wouldn't disappear that easily and the dark fog kept coming out of Heart's body. But at least, the amount of fog had been reduced.

"I told you not to interfere!" Wandering Sword Saint roared angrily. "Don't butt in on our battle! Just leave me alone and don't do anything else! You can go home!"

The Wandering Sword Saint shouted angrily. His expression was ugly, but he didn't let his guard down as he looked at the boy.

As expected, Leo couldn't understand a martial artist's way of thinking. They were a different breed of people. They fought to get stronger and never wanted any interference.

But still, Leo didn't stop his support. He gestured to Sherly to continue disturbing the dark fog.

Why? Because it didn't just stop at healing, it also increased his strength and regeneration speed. The longer the dark fog lingered, the harder it was to defeat Heart. That was why he decided to help Wandering Sword Saint.

"We won't help the fight. This fog will hasten the ritual. I don't know about you, old man, but we don't want Supreme Evil to revive."

The old man was silent for a while, and then he clicked his tongue. "Fine, do whatever you want. Just don't bother me. Use a weaker wind!"

He complained. Leo sighed and shook his head. "Do you hear that? You heard that, Sherly? Just use a weak wind."

"Okay." The girl answered with a smile and she did what the Wandering Sword Saint had asked for.

As the fog thinned considerably, Heart's regeneration had stopped and he couldn't heal from the wound anymore.

His face became uglier. "Die already!" He shouted as a black Qi covered him.

At the same time, Wandering Sword Saint laughed and raised his sword. A white dragon soared to the sky and roared.

"Sky Severing Sword: Final Form, Dragon's Fury!"

The white dragon descended from the sky and met Heart's dark Qi, slicing through it. Wandering Sword Saint also dashed toward him, his sword shining with white light and a trail of it followed him. He was like a shooting star as he moved through the sky, approaching the enemy.

"There is nothing I can't cut!"

Heart's face turned grim. His eyes turned blacker than before as he glared at Wandering Sword Saint.

Black Qi rose up like a giant wave from his body and surged toward Wandering Sword Saint, engulfing him. However, Wandering Sword Saint ignored it as his sword cut through it.

"Cutting Wave."

The white light from his sword spread out, slicing through the wave and the dark Qi, dispersing it.

"Kid! Your dark Qi is nothing. I told you, didn't I? That there is nothing I can't cut!"

Wandering Sword Saint grinned and slashed his sword once more. This time, however, he didn't cut through anything and instead swung his sword horizontally, sending a white crescent beam toward the young boy.

"How bothersome!" Heart growled in irritation. He moved to the side to evade it, but Wandering Sword Saint just grinned and his sword suddenly appeared beside the young boy's neck. It moved at the speed of lightning and sliced through Heart's head, leaving only a small wound.

Heart got so used to fighting against Wandering Sword Saint and his speed that he was shocked by his opponent's speed that increased once again.

Thus, he didn't expect the sword to suddenly accelerate. He was caught off guard and his body was slashed into two halves.

"You're mine, brat!" Wandering Sword Saint shouted triumphantly.

He dashed forward and swung his sword down. He prepared to dice him, but then, Heart's body exploded in a cloud of black Qi. Wandering Sword Saint's sword pierced the cloud of Qi and the boy wasn't seen.

"Argh!"

Wandering Sword Saint's face turned into an annoyed expression as his body got stabbed. The Qi turned into a sharp blade that pierced his shoulder.

Blood splattered, but the Wandering Sword Saint didn't falter. He turned around and swung his sword.

Flash!

White light cut through the black Qi and a figure appeared inside it. It was a headless Heart. He was standing in the air with one hand outstretched, pointing at the Wandering Sword Saint.

Surge of dark Qi descended like a rain, each blade sharper than the sharpest knife in the world. Wandering Sword Saint didn't dodge. Instead, he used his sword to cut through them all. He swung it around and blocked every single attack.

The dark Qi managed to slip through his defense. Some pierced his body and made him bleed. His blood flowed like a river and fell on the ground.

But he was still strong.

"I can still move!" Wandering Sword Saint's eyes turned sharp.

His white robe was now covered in blood, and the color red spread throughout his clothes.

"Stubborn old man!"

Suddenly, a sword of dark Qi came out of nowhere, slashing at the Wandering Sword Saint's left arm.

Clang!

The Wandering Sword Saint's eyes widened in surprise, and his expression changed. He turned to see the sword and found a young man with black hair and dark eyes standing behind it.

"Die."

Swoosh!

The Wandering Sword Saint's arm was chopped off. Blood splattered out of the wound, and the Wandering Sword Saint fell to the ground, his sword dropping next to him. His arm rolled down on the ground as well, and he grunted in pain, his face contorted with pain.

"You...!"

Wandering Sword Saint's expression turned ugly. He looked up at the young man, Heart, who suddenly appeared behind him. He swung his sword to put some distance between them, but the young boy was already in front of him.

Still, Heart wasn't going to let his chance slide. Dark Qi emerged from his body, and it took the shape of a spear that pierced through Wandering Sword Saint's right leg, breaking his bone and causing blood to gush out. His leg fell limp and useless as the bone was shattered by the dark Qi spear.

"Outsiders shall not stop the revival of the Supreme Evil. Die!"

Wandering Sword Saint gritted his teeth. He wanted to curse at the young boy, but he couldn't move his body. However, his right hand still gripped the sword. This was the fight he wanted, one that could make his blood boil and make him feel the excitement he had missed for a long time.

"Don't underestimate me, boy!"

Wandering Sword Saint roared and stood up, using his remaining Qi to swing his sword and create a slash of light. He was trying to slice the boy in two with his sword, but before he could do so, the dark Qi enveloped the young boy, covering him from head to toe, making him disappear.

The slash unleashed by Wandering Sword Saint missed. It cut everything in front of him but Heart. Earth and sky split and the slash reached until the sky and hit a cloud that turned into a mist. However, there was no trace of the enemy.

Before, Wandering Sword Saint looked like a dignified old man whose appearance was that of an ordinary person. His face was full of vitality and he looked like a strong man. Now, he looked tired and worn out. His robust body became thinner but his spirit remained high.

His clothes were tattered, and he was covered in wounds. There was blood flowing down from the cut in his left shoulder and right leg, but it wasn't fatal.

Even then, his expression showed a smile of satisfaction.

"Ah... This is what a good battle feels like..." The old man looked at the sword in his hand and then to the young boy who was standing a few steps away, his dark Qi surrounding his body. "It has been a while since I enjoyed a battle. Come, let's settle this in the next attack!"

His gaze sharpened as he raised his sword, pointing it at his enemy. He burned his life and turned it into Qi, conjuring a white dragon from it.

"Sky Severing Sword: Second Form, Heaven's Judgement!"

A white beam came out from the tip of his blade and rushed toward the boy.

At the same time...

"Dark Qi Blade." Heart's voice rang in the air, cold and emotionless. He swung his right hand and a black beam shot out of his palm.

The two attacks clashed together and exploded, causing shockwaves and dust that enveloped both of them. When the smoke dissipated, both of them were standing still. Their bodies had no signs of being wounded, but they were covered in wounds.

They stared at each other without saying a word. Then, Heart moved. He walked closer and closer to Wandering Sword Saint and... walked past him.

Standing still, Wandering Sword Saint's skin turned pale. His breathing hitched, and his chest didn't move. Continue your journey on empire

He died while standing.

"No..." Sherly muttered in horror. Her eyes widened as she saw what happened. "That... can't be..."

"Leader, what do we do?"

Sherly turned to look at Leo. The man in question looked calm as ever, but there was an uneasy expression on his face. He took out his photon sword and walked forward.

"Kill him." Leo said simply. His tone was firm and unwavering. "That's the only thing we can do."
