The other three Star Thieves completely ignored Wolf, and the last Reaper also entered range.

“Third stage shooting!” someone shouted loudly within the voice channel.

The three Reapers bypassed Wolf and launched a consecutive volley of shoulder cannon shots at Mu Fan from tricky angles.

“Push the second blue lever forward by 0.3 scale on your left hand,” Black reminded from the cockpit. “When faced with multi-point firepower, the optimal choice is maximum defense. By the way, the textbooks from Dingchuan Academy are quite good. You immediately understand once explained!”

Mu Fan automatically blocked out Black’s chatter, precisely making minute adjustments to his hands with the heightened calm brought by Dark Breath, constantly adjusting the shield face in accordance with his Chaotic Zigzag Step. Due to asynchronous operations, Mu Fan couldn’t use his right hand to perform a Five-Key Chaos, meaning the Break Step didn’t achieve the expected effect, making it necessary to use the shield to fend off unknown possibilities.

...

The three Reapers witnessed the bizarre scene Wolf saw earlier: that mecha’s running steps seemed ungainly, as if it was about to fall, yet it never did and dodged the three cannonballs with its staggering, wavering movements.

One more remained!

Mu Fan concentrated intensely, using his defensive experience from earlier—he adjusted the shield slightly, angled at 53 degrees, and deflected the shell!

The three Reaper Mechanical Masters were dumbfounded; they heard only Wolf’s voice wildly laughing over the channel: “Don’t go easy on him, keep shooting!”

The three gritted their teeth and spread out before converging for another targeted attack! They refused to believe it.

Mu Fan’s familiarity with mecha speed greatly exceeded Black’s expectations. By the time of this attack, Mu Fan had further refined his movements based on previous experiences. No wasted movement, just positioning the shield at the correct angle as the shell approached the outlet.

This time it was an Armor-Piercing Bomb with two regular High Explosive Bombs, all three cannonballs aimed at one point.

A burst of fire and thick smoke enveloped the military mecha.

The Star Thieves’ faces turned to joy but quickly faded when the mecha emerged with its shield raised, and they could no longer laugh.

Completely ineffective! Mu Fan had successfully adjusted the angle to 35 degrees; the shell encountered the manually created super-thick inclined armor, unable to penetrate the metal layers after the shield’s slant, deflecting! Though the High Explosive Bomb detonated successfully, due to Mu Fan’s high-level Shield Defense skill, it only depleted less than 3% of the energy reserve.

“Bang!” Inside the mountain, the Major excitedly slammed the table. “Good job, kid. When you return, I’ll recommend you for a first-class medal!”

Naturally, Mu Fan didn’t hear the Major’s inner monologue, yet he was surprised to discover that once proficient in Shield Defense operations, the effect was astonishingly good!

Now it’s time for my counterattack! He had entered within 300 meters.

Mu Fan aggressively pushed the side braking valves up, bringing the Energy Furnace to 100% compliance, full throttle engines! The RX-16 finally bared its fangs after several passive attacks, advancing menacingly towards the four Reapers.

The Reaper mechas revealed their signature Magnetic Vibration Blade; finally, close combat ensued!

“Mu Fan, the opponent’s mecha is also adventure level, weapon slashing effects are limited, so a kill with one strike requires hitting only one spot—the engine flame mouth, the only unprotected place.”

Mu Fan nodded but he had yet to learn effective Mecha Fighting Skills, only the newly familiar Chaotic Zigzag Step.

But at this moment, he suddenly recalled the final mecha battle fought alongside “Beautiful Girl Nuonuo.”

Stabbing!

A string in Mu Fan’s mind twanged at that moment.

Instantly, his muscles reached an unprecedented unified frequency; by leveraging his extraordinary muscle control, Mu Fan abandoned the intricate manipulation of the shield, fixing it before his chest, channeling all his focus on maneuvering.

APM 361, 369, 375, 389!

As APM quietly rose, the RX-16 made its astonishing move!

Full-load a diagonal stride, arc shift, wide-angle diversion, dazzling even the Star Thieves within the Reaper—to suddenly change direction under such a large-scale run, the powerful thrust and inertia would normally be unbearable.

Yet Mu Fan had no issues; veins bulged prominently on his neck! As the cockpit swayed with the mecha’s intense motion, he forcibly used muscle control to keep seated.

A blade shimmering white light with blue currents sliced downward, the other three angling varied cuts.

Mu Fan erratically maneuvered the RX-16 to unexpectedly appear behind the first mecha, raised shield with the left arm unmoved, great sword in stabbing stance with the right arm, using powerful inertia, piercing directly through the first Reaper from behind.

“Boom!” The engine exploded; a Reaper perished—its Mechanical Master the unlucky Wolf!

“Wolf!” The remaining three Star Thieves’ eyes nearly burst with rage, closing in rapidly.

Mu Fan controlled the RX-16’s left to parry the cutting force, then leveraged force with a crouching spin, stabbing—second mecha down!

The Star Thieves moved in complete frenzy; their companions on the Near-Earth Guard Ship above hastily warned through the channel, “Return swiftly! This mecha is too strange.” Yet the remaining two Reapers disregarded the overhead advice entirely.

APM 392… In reality, maintaining superb muscle control, Mu Fan capitalized on the one-against-four crisis to once more push his APM record.

The third fell from a sliding kick by Mu Fan, leaping sword down thrust—swooping strike!

For the fourth, Mu Fan suddenly powered the left mecha arm, the previously fixed shield abruptly forcing upward, toppling the final Reaper back, then with another fierce Shield Strike, thoroughly knocking the mecha off balance, an Unordered Step encircling behind, the shield pushing the opponent’s torso, and the great sword stabbing directly into the rear engine.

Mecha down!

The ten-plus Reapers charging down the mountain abruptly halted because they received communication from their companions, dispatched to eliminate the lone military mecha—as for those military mecha on the mountainside, they were no longer a concern.

Then they noticed the RX-16 standing amidst the four annihilated Reaper wrecks not far below the mountain, a shield in one hand, and sword in the other, mirroring precisely the pose of the sword and shield mecha mid-mountain. Yet this mecha had claimed the lives of their four comrades.

The military seized the moment for a group exchange under light fire cover.

The Major inside the mountain was utterly speechless, merely repeating, “Marcus, well done, Marcus, well done.”

“Sir, the opponent has dispatched four more Reapers!” Yet another group assailed Mu Fan, finally—the Star Thieves had sent four more mechas rushing toward the mountain’s base.

“No repeating tactics; don’t let the opponent use it again!” Black recited another classic textbook quote again. He was starting to enjoy this ruinous job.

Mu Fan’s eyes grew cold, void of mercy; these individuals were continuously wasting his time, and he had no patience left to wait.

Moments later, four Reapers were once again destroyed with a single sword.

One-fourth kill, another fourth kill!

The figure holding the heavy shield seemed infinitely magnified, oppressively weighing on everyone present.

Mu Fan dominated the scene!
