Marvel: Trading with Worlds

"How's it going?"

Sarutobi Hiruzen asked with an ugly expression. The rescue operation had lasted for a day, consuming a lot of manpower and resources. The entire Konoha Hospital was filled with the wounded.

"The death toll of the Shimura family is seventy-three. The rest have all been sent to Konoha Hospital. The root base has been completely cleared. Only thirteen people survived. Danzo-sama is among them, but Tsunade-sama is personally treating them."

After Anbu reported the casualties, he continued, "The explosion likely happened at the Anbu base. The interrogation department has checked the brains of all the deceased, and the living have also been interrogated. There is no abnormality."

The Root Base is highly secretive, and even Anbu doesn't know much about it. An explosion there raised a suspicion in Sarutobi Hiruzen's mind. 

He briefly considered that someone might have leaked information about the Root Base—what a gain it would be for the enemy.

Since it wasn't Root's own leaked information, could it have come from his Anbu? Otherwise, how would the enemy have known about the Root Base?

There was also the matter of the murderer behind the scenes. This familiar feeling, combined with Danzo's actions a few days ago, led Sarutobi Hiruzen to contemplate whether he should directly declare the enemy and gather all of Konoha's strength to destroy Kain.

However, this idea was immediately suppressed. If he did that, the first to oppose him would be Kushina, who could use the power of the Nine Tails, and the daimyo of the Fire Nation. 

It was just a guess, and without concrete evidence, no one would take him seriously.

"It has nothing to do with Kain. I asked about it yesterday."

Tsunade walked in with an unhappy face and said to Sarutobi Hiruzen, "Kushina was with him all day yesterday, and he never left her sight. Besides, I don't even know the location of the Root Base. Do you really think an outsider could have figured it out in such a short time?"

"The operation is over, Tsunade. How is the situation?"

"I can't say he's dead, but aren't you going to limit the power of that damned old man? It's wartime, and how much medical supplies are you going to waste of the front lines?"

Tsunade was very upset and scolded Danzo directly. In her frustration, she didn't even hold back from expressing her displeasure with Sarutobi Hiruzen. 

With the village already in such a busy state, the old man Danzo was still causing problems.

Although Sarutobi Hiruzen looked displeased, he didn't answer Tsunade's question directly but instead asked again, "You said that Kushina was with Kain all day? Are you sure?"

"What, are you going to interrogate Kushina?"

"Of course, I didn't mean that, Tsunade. You have too much prejudice against the teacher!"

"If you want me to reduce my prejudice, you should do something for Konoha! Why did Senior Sakumo become a guardian ninja? What happened with the explosion yesterday?"

Tsunade shouted angrily. But before she could vent her dissatisfaction with Sarutobi Hiruzen, an Anbu ninja came in to report from outside the house.

"Master Hokage, this is an urgent message from the border of sound Country."

After Sarutobi Hiruzen took the information scroll from Anbu's hand, his face became visibly grim. After a moment, he raised his head and said to Tsunade, "Now is not the time to pursue those matters, Tsunade. Get ready; I want to call the Jōnin Council."

Tsunade also sensed that something was wrong upon hearing these words. The countries of sound and around had always been part of the rivalry between Konoha and Cloud Shinobi. 

If there was urgent news from there, it could mean that Cloud Shinobi was declaring war on Konoha.

Is Cloud Shinobi going to fight on two fronts? The war with Mist Shinobi is already intensifying, but now they also have to fight Konoha? Tsunade felt there was something she wasn't being told.

These matters had nothing to do with Kain.

After obtaining the ingredients for the super soldier serum, Kain was ready to return to the Marvel world. 

Though he had stayed a few extra days due to the allure of the Uzumaki tomato, he felt that he was now more likely to successfully develop the super soldier serum.

Back in the Marvel universe, Kain took stock of his gains. In addition to the super soldier serum and Six Paths ninja tools, he had developed his own forces in the ninja world.

But he had also brought back some flesh and blood from the Three Great Snakes princess and the White Snake sage, as well as Chakra metal, as he had agreed with Ryūchi Cave.

"It's still impossible to contact Thaddeus Ross. At least a few bottles of super soldier serum need to be copied. For the experimental subjects, I can choose a few people from Umbrella, but they must be loyal subordinates."

With the influence of the Chakra seal, whether it's Umbrella or the researchers at the Biological Research Center, their loyalty and identification with Kain would steadily increase. 

Their spirits would be affected by the Yin release Chakra contained in the curse seal, which could not be altered. Unless someone could cleanse their soul of it.

Kain then created a Shadow Clone, who would handle checking emails and reading the latest news. He didn't want to miss anything important in this world.

Additionally, Kain went to the seaside of his villa, where he summoned the basilisk with the Summoning Technique. He then checked its memory using Legilimency.

This creature was an intelligent life form, with the same level of intelligence as a human. Without Kain's restraint, it was highly likely that it would cause trouble.

"Fortunately, you're still behaving. I'll let you eat your fill tomorrow and sleep on the bottom of the sea for a while afterward," Kain ordered the basilisk.
