Chapter 3: CH: 003 Sebastian

Chapter 003: Sebastian

A magnetic storm tore through the entire concentration camp.

Eric's roar echoed through the air, filled with anger, pain, and fear.

"Ahhh..."

"What?"

The soldiers' helmets twisted and contorted grotesquely as if an invisible force was crushing their skulls. They clutched their heads, howling in agony as the intense pressure mounted.

Some soldiers, with stronger wills, noticed the cause of the chaos and attempted to raise their guns. But Eric was far beyond their control at that moment—his fury consuming everything.

Smair, however, remained vigilant. He had been observing the situation closely. As he saw the soldiers attempt to fight back, he raised his hand. With a wave of his magnetic power, he manipulated the guns, twisting them into unusable scrap, rendering them powerless.

"Eric, go to your mother! We need to leave, now!"

Smair's firm hand on Eric's shoulder snapped him back to reality. The boy, momentarily lost in his fury, quickly refocused.

"Leave here? Yes, let's go!"

Startled, Eric snapped back to his senses and dashed towards his mother, dodging the panicked throngs of people and soldiers alike.

The chaos around them intensified. Soldiers collapsed to the ground, and prisoners scattered in all directions, screaming in terror. The camp was in full disorder.

"Mom! Mom!" Eric shouted through the frenzy.

The terrified crowd pressed in, pushing his mother further away with each passing second.

"Eric, remember—magnetism is your strength! Metal is your tool. If you wish, magnetism can do anything for you!"

Smair's voice cut through the turmoil, pushing Eric to embrace his power.

"Anything? Well, I'll fly then!" Eric roared in defiance.

The iron bars from the windows responded to his command, flying toward him like obedient soldiers. They rose beneath his feet, lifting him into the air with a weightless grace.

"I… I'm flying!" Eric exclaimed in awe, his voice a mix of astonishment and triumph.

With a jubilant shout, Eric soared through the air, landing swiftly next to his mother, seizing her arm. Together, they sped out of the chaos, escaping the madness that had engulfed the camp.

"Smair, you were right! I've awakened! This power is incredible!" Eric exclaimed, a wide grin splitting his face.

Smair, though smiling, remained silent, his knowledge of the events unfolding keeping him calm. He had seen it all before.

"Yes. A power like no other!" he responded, watching as Eric embraced his newfound abilities.

Suddenly, a voice interrupted their moment of victory. A middle-aged man, impeccably dressed in a military uniform, approached them with a smile that radiated with a disturbing warmth.

"The miracle of life... the mystery of evolution is truly fascinating. The ability to control metal? It's perfection," the man said, his eyes gleaming with an unsettling intensity as he gazed at Eric.

"You…" Eric stammered, both shocked and confused, while his mother recoiled in fear.

The man before them was an SS officer—his name and rank held power over the lives of all those within the camp. The SS's reputation for cruelty was well known.

"I... I've awakened! I'm not afraid of you!" Eric's newfound confidence surged as he extended his hand, sending an iron bar flying through the air, aimed straight for the man's chest.

The bar shot forward at such a speed that it was almost a blur, its deadly velocity promising destruction. With a deafening crash, the bar struck the middle-aged man's chest, tearing through his uniform. Yet, the strike had no effect.

The bar fell to the ground with a heavy thud, having lost all its force the moment it met the officer's unyielding form. The man was untouched, unscathed—not even a hair displaced.

"Your power is impressive," the officer said with a knowing smile. "But ultimately, meaningless."

With a casual flick of his shirt, the officer stepped forward, extending his arm toward Eric.

"My name is Sebastian. Don't be afraid. Join me. I am your kind. Together, we can create the future—a future free from inferior races, a world of noble mutants!" he offered smoothly, his voice dripping with conviction.

"Devil! Executioner! I am not one of your kind!" Eric shouted, his hatred surging to the surface. His fists clenched as memories of innocent lives lost under this officer's command flooded his mind.

"Swish! Swish! Swish!"

Iron bars shot from the ground and from the walls, attacking Sebastian from all sides. They moved with deadly speed, each one attempting to pierce his body.

"Your attacks mean nothing to me," Sebastian said coolly, dismissing the projectiles as if they were nothing more than a nuisance. He stood unmoving as the bars tore through his clothes, but not a single one left a mark on his skin.

Sebastian's ability was unparalleled—he could absorb kinetic energy, using it to enhance his strength, speed, and stamina. Every strike, every projectile only made him stronger, as he absorbed the energy and transformed it into his own power. His powers weren't limited to physical attacks either; electricity, magic, and other forms of energy could also be absorbed, fueling his abilities even further.

As long as the attack didn't exceed his limits, Sebastian could turn anything aimed at him into a source of strength.

"Are you rebelling against me? Do you hate me?" Sebastian asked, his voice colder now, his expression one of mild annoyance.

He pointed toward Eric's mother and Smair, his eyes narrowing with disdain. "Are these two 'inferior' beings holding you back? Do you need them?" he sneered. "Then I'll help you rid yourself of them."

With a casual gesture, Sebastian unleashed the kinetic energy he had absorbed from Eric's failed attack. A powerful shockwave erupted, slamming into Smair and Eric's mother with brutal force.

The storm of destruction tore through the air, propelling them backward, leaving chaos in its wake.
