Living a Lazy Life in the Beast World!

Chapter 9: Silk Clothes

Leif looked out of the cave and stated, "I'll take you out tomorrow. We can't travel right now." The sky outside had already darkened and it would be dangerous to go out right now.

Daisy also noticed it and she hummed softly in response. Leif thought she was disappointed and felt uncomfortable. He didn't like to see her in a downcast mood.

His father, who was once a powerful beast on the beastlands, had advised him to be patient, loving, and understanding towards females. Even though he was later abandoned by his mate due to his sickness, he didn't hate her. His only regret was not being able to die old along with his mate.

Leif didn't want to end up like his father, so he had always avoided those females who wanted to be his mate due to his appearance.

And after being exiled from the clan and becoming a stray beast, the condition was even worse. The females who were after his looks would scream and run away as soon as they see him.

As a result, he was unable to find a mate through proper means. The only option left for him was to kidnap a female and forcefully mate with her and be killed later on.

He had not considered doing it because he did not want to be at the mercy of others like his father.

So even though the little female wanted to leave him, his rational thoughts overcame his desire. He was willing to bury his dark desire to make her his mate deep inside his heart, never letting them out and driving him crazy.

Daisy was in a good mood, unaware that someone beside her had misunderstood her.

She cautiously drank the slightly cooled broth, forgetting all her initial worries and fear. To her utter disbelief, the broth that looked like a dish from hell tasted much better than she expected.

It was flavorful with so many spices, and the deer meat was soft and chewy. She couldn't help but ask for a second bowl. "This is so delicious, Leif! You're such a great cook!"

Leif's gloomy mood instantly lifted as he heard her compliment. He like to hear her voice and watching her warm smile, but he needed to remain calm for he didn't want to risk falling for her charms.

He didn't look at her, but he spoke to her in a calm voice, "thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it."

He inadvertently noticed the green skirt from the corner of his eyes and was stunned. He suddenly realized that the little female was still wearing a leafy dress, which was not only strange but also clearly not fit for protecting herself.

He recalled that he had saved a few pieces of clothes while leaving his home a few years ago. Since Daisy cleaned the cave a little, he was easily able to find the clothe bag that he was searching for. He dusted off the dirt and opened it, revealing its contents.

There were two sets of white clothes, a crude iron dagger, a hemp necklace with a pink crystal hanging beneath it, and a piece of red teakwood with a snake engraving. He only took the clothes and left the rest, wrapping them up and throwing the bag away to eat dust again.

He handed the clothes to Daisy, who was enjoying her fifth bowl of broth. "Here, you can wear this."

Daisy was surprised by his gesture. She looked at the clothes in his hands, and it was surprisingly white and had a shiny look. Her eyes widened as she saw something familiar, and she gently touched the clothes with her fingers to confirm her speculation. As expected, the clothes were soft and smooth without any signs of roughness!!

"Where'd you get these from?" She asked, astonished that the clothes were made of silk and it was much more silkier than the clothes she used in her modern world!

"These clothes are made from the silver silk spider tribe in the East. I heard that their clothes are highly sought among females, so I bought a few pieces of them when I visited their land," Leif explained patiently, not minding her lack of information.

Daisy was surprised and emotional. After coming here, she thought that she would spend the rest of her life in dresses made of animal skins or leaves. However, the sudden appearance of silk clothes changed her mind.

She decided to stop hating spiders and forgive the spider man who killed her because she had the opportunity to come to this wonderful world where she could heal her scars and begin a new life.

She badly wanted the silk clothes, but she was embarrassed of receiving them for nothing. "Thank you, Leif. But I don't really need it."

Leif had given her food to eat and a shelter to sleep, and he was also going to take her to a village tomorrow despite his busy day. So she couldn't possibly take any more advantage of his kindness. So she tried her best to ignore the clothes in Leif's hands.

The light in Leif's eyes dimmed as he heard her words. He could clearly see that she wanted to have the dress, but she refused it because he was the one giving it to her.

She even rejected the things he gave her; did she dislike him so much?

He smiled wryly. What did he even expect?

Maybe, this was his fate.

To be disliked and rejected,

to live without someone to love,

And die alone just like his father.

Daisy's thoughts were preoccupied with the beautiful silk clothes while Leif was on the verge of depression.

She imagined how comfortable it would be to wear a proper clothe without worrying about her butt being bitten by ants all the time.

Despite trying her best to resist the temptation, she couldn't stop herself from wanting those silk clothes. She sighed, realizing that she had nothing to exchange for it.

All she had was a fish trap and a basket of fruits that she had gathered while roaming in the woods.

Leif expressionlessly held the rejected clothes and the stinging pain in his heart was replaced by an unnamed anger.

He instinctively wanted to threaten and force the female to accept his things, but he was able to control himself at the last minute. He sighed, realizing his emotions were becoming more difficult to control the longer he stayed with her.
