Chapter 13: IN INDIA

[Arrival in India and the Goa Incident]

The flight to India had been long, but stepping into the vibrant streets of Goa made it all worthwhile. The two of them had rented a cozy apartment overlooking the beach. For ten days, they planned to soak in the sun, enjoy the local delicacies, and gather their energy before crashing the engagement party.

The first few days were blissful.

Rivaan and Jilpa explored the bustling street markets, savoring spicy Goan curries and sweet bebinca. Evenings were spent lounging on the beach, letting the waves wash away the tension of their chaotic lives.

Rivaan: "I could get used to this, you know. No school, no training, just good food and the ocean."

Jilpa: "Don't get too comfy, bro. We still have a mission."

They laughed, clinking their coconut waters in mock celebration.

The 8th Day: Darkness in Paradise

On the eighth day, the serene rhythm of their Goan getaway was disrupted. The sun hung low in the sky as Rivaan stepped out to grab some drinks for the group, leaving Jilpa and Aiyana in the apartment. Strolling along the vibrant streets, Rivaan was greeted by the familiar scents of street food and the lively chatter of tourists and locals.

As he turned a corner, a commotion caught his attention. His heart sank when he saw Aiyana in the distance, cornered by three men in a narrow alley. Their aggressive laughter and her frightened attempts to push them away made his blood run cold.

Man 1: "Why so scared? We're just being friendly."

Aiyana: "I said, get away from me!"

Rivaan's hands clenched into fists. His mind raced, but there was no hesitation. He stormed toward them, his voice sharp and commanding.

Rivaan: "Hey! You have three seconds to back off before I make you regret ever stepping foot here."

The men turned, sizing him up with mocking grins.

Man 2: "And who are you supposed to be? Her knight in shining armor?"

Rivaan didn't answer. Instead, he moved faster than they could react. With a precision born from his training, he grabbed the first man's arm and twisted and broke it in half, forcing him to his knees. The second lunged at him, but Rivaan sidestepped, punching right in the face wich made made him fall down and Rivaan started to clobber his face and almost turned it to mush.

The third man hesitated, fear flickering in his eyes as Rivaan stepped closer, his gaze cold and unyielding.

Rivaan: "you get out before you turn into them"

The man didn't need to be told twice. He scrambled to his feet, dragging his groaning friends away.

Rivaan turned to Aiyana, who was trembling but unharmed.

Rivaan: "Are you okay?"

Aiyana nodded, her voice shaky.

Aiyana: "I… I didn't know what to do. Thank you, Rivaan."

He offered her a reassuring smile, though his heart was still pounding.

Rivaan: "Let's get you back to the apartment."

Back at the Apartment

Jilpa was pacing the living room when they returned. The worry on his face melted into relief when he saw Aiyana, but it quickly turned to concern as he noticed Rivaan's bruised knuckles.

Jilpa: "What happened?"

Aiyana glanced at Rivaan, her voice soft.

Aiyana: "Some men… they cornered me. Rivaan showed up just in time."

Jilpa's jaw tightened, anger flickering in his eyes.

Jilpa: "I should have been there."

Rivaan: "You couldn't have known. And it's over now."

Jilpa's shoulders relaxed, but the guilt lingered in his eyes.

The Evening's Reflection

That night, Rivaan sat on the balcony, staring out at the ocean and trying to get the blood stains off his shirt. Aiyana joined him, handing him a cup of tea.

Aiyana: "You're always so calm, even in the worst situations. How do you do it?"

Rivaan shrugged, a faint smile on his lips.

Rivaan: "I'm not as calm as I seem. I just… don't let it show."

Aiyana studied him for a moment, then leaned back in her chair.

Aiyana: "Thank you again. I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't shown up."

Rivaan didn't respond immediately. His gaze remained fixed on the waves, but his thoughts were elsewhere—on the responsibilities they carried and the dangers that seemed to follow them everywhere.

In the other room, Jilpa sat silently, staring at his chains. He knew Rivaan had done the right thing, but the incident reminded him of the dangers that could appear at any moment. They weren't ordinary teens anymore, and their lives were anything but normal.

And deep down, both of them knew this was just the beginning.

[The Day of the Reunion]

The morning of the reunion dawned with an air of anticipation. The sun streamed through the curtains of the apartment, casting golden light on the suits Jilpa and Rivaan had picked out the day before. Each detail of their attire had been meticulously prepared, from the sharp cuts of the fabric to the polished sheen of their shoes.

Jilpa stood before the mirror, adjusting the cuffs of his deep navy suit. The fabric hugged his form perfectly, emphasizing his lean frame. His red and white hair, now styled back with precision, gave him an air of otherworldly sophistication. A matching crimson pocket square added a striking contrast.

Jilpa: "How do I look? Like I belong in a millionaire's mansion?"

Rivaan smirked as he emerged from his room, straightening the collar of his tailored black suit with subtle gold accents. His hair was neatly combed, and his sharp jawline only added to his confident aura.

Rivaan: "You look fine. But don't forget, we're crashing the party, not blending in."

Jilpa chuckled, his crimson eyes twinkling with mischief.

Jilpa: "Then I guess we're doing it in style."

The Drive to the Mansion

The two hailed a cab that whisked them away to the venue. As they approached, the enormity of the mansion came into view. It was a sprawling estate surrounded by lush gardens and a driveway lined with luxury cars. The mansion itself stood like a palace, with gleaming white pillars and golden embellishments glinting in the afternoon sun.

The sheer opulence of the place was overwhelming, even for them.

Jilpa: "I thought you said your grandpa was rich. You didn't say he lived in a castle."

Rivaan: "He's always been flashy. I told you he's a businessman who likes making a statement."

The cab pulled up to the entrance, where a valet opened the door for them. They stepped out, their polished shoes clicking against the marble driveway as they ascended the grand staircase leading to the entrance.

Entering the Lion's Den

The grand hall was already filled with guests, the sound of laughter and clinking glasses echoing through the space. Chandeliers hung from the high ceilings, casting a warm glow over the lavishly decorated room. Waiters moved through the crowd, balancing trays of hors d'oeuvres and champagne.

As Jilpa and Rivaan entered, heads turned. Their presence commanded attention, their perfectly tailored suits and striking appearances standing out even among the wealthy elite.

Jilpa (leaning toward Rivaan): "I think we're already the main attraction."

Rivaan (grinning): "Good. Let's keep it that way."

The Plan Unfolds

They navigated through the crowd, exchanging polite nods and fake smiles as they headed toward the central hall where the reunion was set to take place. Jilpa spotted Aiyana from across the room, her fiery red dress drawing attention as she conversed with some of the guests. When her eyes met Rivaan's, she subtly gestured toward a side door.

Jilpa: "Looks like she's signaling. Ready?"

Rivaan: "Always."

They moved casually toward the door, slipping away from the main event unnoticed. Behind the scenes, they knew their real mission began. It wasn't just about crashing the party—it was about showing Rivaan's grandfather that he couldn't dictate Rivaan's life.

And as they walked toward the unknown, Jilpa's chains faintly shimmered under his sleeve, a silent promise that no one would control their destinies.
