Chapter 9: Team up!?

"Souta!"

''Hayoh!!... Waoh!... what's that?'' Souta, Jin's wind guardian, was surprised and looked puzzled when he saw Takeru in a strange form.

''Shiba... Takeru!'' Jin grinned and looked confused at his guardian.

''Ah!!..'' Souta annoys Jin's gaze eye's.

Jin nodded his head, and the wind guardian transformed into a Katana, its blade gleaming with a vivid light green.

"Oi!.... Takeru..... focus!" Jin urged, his voice calm and serious.

With a technique called "Gale Force," he intensified the air currents around Takeru, creating powerful gusts of wind. Takeru fought to regain his center as he swung the Katana against the flickering fiery aura, drawing the flames back into control.

Gradually, the room calmed, the oppressive heat dissipating as Takeru's inner fire subsided, leaving him breathless and exhausted.

Jin lowered his Katana, relief washing over him as he approached Takeru with a steady gaze.

"You okay?"

Takeru nodded slowly, his breaths coming in ragged gasps.

"Yeah... I think so. That was... intense."

Jin clapped a hand on Takeru's shoulder.

"Remember, just relax and control it as soon as possible. If you don't want to cause trouble next time, it may seem powerful, but it's still yours to command."

"Yes, but... by the way, that seems a lot like calming down a firebender!" Takeru remarked, surprised by Jin's talent.

"Well, we do have a fire girl at home," Jin thought to himself, choosing to remain quiet as he shrugged and smiled.

"It seems you want another punishment, right?"

''Gehh!''

As someone entered the room, the boys froze at the sound of the voice. They slowly turned to face the director, their eyes filled with concern.

Nakamura-sensei stood at the doorway, gazing at them with intense eyes, her expression serious and resolute.

"Practicing during restricted hours, are we?" she asked,

The boys exchanged nervous glances, knowing full well the rules they had just broken.

"Shiba-kun, Ishiki-kun," Nakamura-sensei continued, stepping further into the room, "I appreciate your dedication, but it's important to remember the guidelines set for your safety and the safety of others."

Takeru shifted his weight, his mind racing for the right response. "We were just... trying to get a little extra practice in and ... overdo something," he admitted, his voice tinged with sincerity.

"For the practice, was it me who asked," Jin responded, his words drawing Nakamura-sensei's attentive gaze toward him.

"I understand your eagerness to improve, but you must also learn to balance your ambition with responsibility... Ishiki-kun!?"

''Yes!'' Jin exclaimed,

"Didn't I tell you to stay in the dorm for a week and not step outside?" Nakamura-sensei inquired, her gaze fixed on both of them.

"Ugh! ... I... I apologize," Jin responded in a little shaky voice.

"Ha!... I recommend you both return to your dorms and get some rest. And as for the lost control aura power, I won't inquire about it, but make sure it doesn't happen again," she said.

"Yes, Sensei," both boys replied in unison, their determination renewed.

"Stay inside your dorm for two weeks... both of you," Nakamura-sensei instructed in a serious and weighty tone.

"Geh! ... Yes, Sensei."

Takeru and Jin exchanged relieved glances as their punishment concluded. Jin sat down, and they turned to the door upon hearing footsteps.

"So, it was you!" Shinji exclaimed as he entered the training room, followed by Keigo. He glanced at Takeru and Jin, who he didn't know. Jin, ever the hot-blooded one, gave Keigo a puzzled look.

"Um... He's my friend, Atobe Keigo, from the same Clan," Shinji replied, prompting Takeru and Jin to focus on him. Takeru smiled and stepped forward to introduce himself.

"I'm Shiba Takeru from the Shiba Clan," he said before turning to Jin.

"Ishiki Jin," Jin added.

Noticing something, Takeru shot a curious glance at Jin. "By the way, where are you from? I don't think you've ever mentioned it," he asked.

This piqued the interest of both Shinji and Keigo, who also turned to watch Jin. In response to Takeru's question, Jin raised an eyebrow and briefly rolled his eyes.

"Just a typical hometown in Osaka," he replied sincerely, and the others seemed convinced.

However, Takeru suddenly interrupted, "What about the others? Like Ishigami-san." Jin froze at the mention.

"No... I just want to make more friends... nothing more," Takeru clarified, sensing the intensity of Jin's gaze. The tension thickened as Jin processed Takeru's words.

"Sahara will snow," he said, surprised, as his brow furrowed. "I mean, Sei doesn't like talking to unfamiliar people. Do you have something in common that might make Sei talk to you?" Jin's expression was one of disbelief. Takeru glanced around at the Shinji and Keigo, avoiding Jin's piercing gaze.

"But I think she's friendly." Jin was more surprised when heard that. Jin leaned closer, his brow still knitted together.

"Sei isn't the type to just open up, you know? It's like trying to get through a wall made of ice,"

"But isn't that how friendships start? You don't just dive into the deep end right away," Takeru countered, trying to keep his voice steady. He could feel the heaviness of Jin's scrutiny, pressing down like an unwelcome weight.

"I don't mind you knowing her, but the Shiba Clan has strict rules. Women are expected to listen to men, which feels outdated. This is something Sei despises the most!"

"Wait... who's Sei?" Shinji asked, intrigued.

"My relative," Jin responded, leaving Shinji more confused.

"Then what's the connection to Shiba?" he turned to ask Takeru, who was taken aback by Jin's comment.

"Ehh... I think it's better to make friends than enemies," Takeru replied with a smile.

''What a positive guy'' Three of them thought in their mind.

Jin thought, "I always believed the Shiba Clan only had strict-minded individuals," as he approached the door, only to be blocked by Keigo.

"Were you the one who created that pressure aura at the training ground?" he asked.

"Yeah... And?" Jin replied.

"Wanna team up? I'm a leaf bender."

Jin experienced a fleeting sense of déjà vu until he recalled yesterday's discussions among the other students at the training ground.

''Ah!... A child guy!'' Jin exclaimed;

''Child of Nature!'' Keigo corrects it. "Ha!... I mean S・A rank. If we team up, we could achieve that rank," Keigo told to his goal.

''Yes, Shiba, Keigo, and I want to exchange Class A from the best choice of S・A to another class. No!.... This generation of S・A members will have five classes joining. The objective is to recruit 9 members from each class.'' Shinji pushed his glasses as he spoke.

"Hmm..." Jin raised an eyebrow, smirking as he looked at them, "I like it... the smell of danger!"

Clang!!!!!

Suddenly, a loud clap of thunder echoed in the night sky, dark clouds looming ominously as red lightning flashed. The wind howled a fierce and wild symphony that sent shivers down the spine of the earth. Trees bent and swayed, their branches clawing at the air as if trying to escape the wrath of the storm. The flash of red lightning illuminated their path, revealing fleeting glimpses of a world transformed into a chaotic tangle of nature's fury.

Four of them looked outside, sensing not only a Lightning bender pressure but also a stone bender's aura, which confused Jin and made his expression more serious.

"Ken?" Jin exclaimed.
