Chapter 48: Schemes and Plots revealed
The other creature was far menacing than the cursed womb, and it's aura was so intense that even Sasuke didn't know what he was looking at. With a lower human body and a serpentine upper body, it's massive and muscular ape like arms stretched to the ground as its slit pupils glared murderously at him.
The most intriguing thing about it wasn't even it's appearance, rather, it's cursed energy seemed to possess the meekness of human nature, that savageness of cursed kind, along with one last property that Sasuke found utterly familiar yet couldn't remember where he knew it from....

*SLASH!*
At the entrance to the mountain range, the sound of blades whistling through the air resounded, followed by an intense pressure as a lone figure came walking through nonchalantly, with the inverted spear of Heaven in one hand and the other in his pocket.
Upon seeing the level of damage and the numerous dead bodies that littered the grounds haphazardly, the man, none other than Toji clicked his tongue in amazement after he noticed the tied up figure of a girl that had been stabbed to death mercilessly.
"That brat..
Just what kind of a monster have you brought into this world, Kazumi."
Toji chuckled for a moment and then sighed, before he began to proceeded deep into the mountain range. But before he could go any further, his senses picked up on a faint heartbeat, and a weak pulse that causes him to pause in his stride as he turned around to face the tied up figure who seemed to be somehow alive despite the grievous wound.
"Sigh. The things I do for this brat.."
Toji couldn't help but shake his head and sigh, before turning around...

Meanwhile, in another part of the mountain range, a figure materialized from thin air, his every step pulling and pushing loose objects around him. His pure white hair fluttered in the wind and his sparkling sapphire eyes were hidden underneath his glasses.
Looking at the wasteland and the corpses of his dead sorcerer brothers and sisters around him, his blood boiled in fury, yet his hands still remained firmly in his pockets as he walked on solemnly.
But after taking a few steps forward, he suddenly stopped and lifted his head before sighing deeply.
"You can't keep following me everywhere, Suguru. You know I can see you.."
He uttered into the air, yet right on cue, a large furry cursed spirit resembling a swan dived down before him and a figure jumped down from its back.
"Satoru, I'm worried about you. Ever since you met that Sasuke you haven't been in the right state of mind!"
Suguru pointed out as Gojo chuckled in response.
"I'm fine Suguru. Besides, it's all going to end today isn't it. Those Zen'in clan old fogies better get to him first otherwise I'll let him suffer a fate worse than death.."
Satoru uttered with a calm smile, yet Suguru knew him best. That smile was just a facade, hiding the turmoil and raging emotions underneath.
"The elders would handle this Satoru. Let's get out this place!"
"No!! Suguru! You don't understand! He killed Mei. He killed our mates. He needs to pay for this!! Someone needs to take him down!!"
Gojo roared out, finally letting the emotions out, as space wobbled in response.
"And what makes you think you're that person?! What makes you think you're the one who's supposed to deliver judgement! You've been fixated on this fellow so much that you're obsessed Satoru!!"
Suguru roared in response and Satoru was taken aback by his friend's response.
"So what if I'm obsessed Suguru?! I have to be the one to take him down! I need to make him suffer!"
Gojo clapped back, and whether it was intentional or not, the Limitless caused the space around him to warp and twist.
"Why?!"
"Because I need this!!"
Gojo clapped back once more and Suguru was the one who was shocked this time. For the first time since their friendship he couldn't recognise this fellow.
"I'm not going to let you do this, Satoru. I'm not going to let you walk this path! I'd rather have your ego destroyed than lose you .."
Suguru took in a deep breath and steled his resolve. In a burst of cursed energy and stretch of his hand, portals seemed to materialize as hordes of cuesed spirits poured out. He was going all out right of the bat. He knew he might not win, or might even lose his life in the process, but he couldn't let his friend continue to tread this path.
"Hahaha! You seem to have forgotten your place, Suguru! If you want to die so bad, then so be it!"
Powering up the Limitless fully, loose objects were pulled towards him and he blitzed towards Suguru with immense speed.
*BOOOM!*

Meanwhile, back on the main battlefield, an injured and bloodied Sasuke glared towards Joben and the two monstrosities behind him.
"Zen'in Sasuke.. or do you prefer the name Uchiha. Tsk. I've been watching you, monitoring you. Your progress has been astonishing..."
Joben broke the silence, but Sasuke squinted his eyes and switched to the Sharingan before scanning the stitch like scar on his forehead, as realisation dawned on him.
"I know that scar..."
Sasuke uttered in a low tone, yet his words perked up Joben's attention, as his expression morphed into one of surprise.
"Oh? Pray tell then, Uchiha. How much can those eyes of yours see..."
Joben responded, with a smile and the placed his arms behind him.
Sasuke on the other hand wasn't as calm as he let on. He knew who this person was from Virgil's memories and the only question now was why was the biggest menace in the Jujutsu world currently targeting him.
"Why do you target me...
...Kenjaku"
The moment Sasuke spoke, Joben's eye widened for a moment and then he laughed, before unstitching the wound on his forehead, revealing a nasty looking brain like living organism hidden within his skull
"I know who you are, Uchiha. More specifically, I know what you are; an anomaly, an otherworlder. A relic from a world that has already been claimed by the old ones, and perhaps the biggest threat to my plans..."
Sasuke was completely stunned at Kenjaku and his eyes widened in shock. No one, absolutely no one knew of the fact that he did not belong to this world, yet somehow, this fellow seemed to know everything..
And what did he mean by 'a relic from a world that was claimed by old ones..'
"An otherworlder with so great a presence that a dying world such as this had to protect itself by shifting the scales of fate and destiny just to correct the mistake that is none other than you..."
"What the hell are you on about?!"
Sasuke couldn't keep calm and blurted out furiously, as Kenjaku smiled, while shaking his head.
"I'll tell you. Hahaha..
In the wake of your birth, the universe recognised your presence as a threat and shifted the scales of balance, allowing Jujutsu sorcerers to grow even more powerful, then labelled you a threat to their existence. Meaning the sole purpose of Jujutsu is to eliminate what this universe seems it's biggest threat... You."
Sasuke felt his skin crawl at Kenjaku's words as an ominous feeling gripped his heart.
"But in doing that, the balance between sorcerers and curses, good and bad, righteous and evil, shifted allowing one to dominate the other for so long that the necessary balance for existence no longer remained.."
Sasuke seemed to have understood a bit of what Kenjaku was talking about. It would seem that the Jujutsu Kaisen universe saw him as a threat hence it allowed it's sorcerers to grow so strong just to take him out. Now he understood why sorcerers were so strong now and why he felt it'd always been him against the world...
The only problem was, how the hell did this fellow know all of this. It bothered Sasuke to no end that there was a person in this world who had all of this knowledge at his disposal.
"In the wake of upsetting it's own balance, the universe began to deteriorate, dying from within. And that was until I figured it out. Perhaps it is for this reason that the old ones have set their eyes on this world..."
To this point, Kenjaku smiled. Sasuke felt like he knew what Kenjaku was referring to yet he just couldn't place his finger on exactly what he meant.
"You don't strike me as the world saving type, Kenjaku...."
Sasuke chuckled, and Kenjaku squinted his eyes for a moment and then smiled back.
"Of course. A universe that has doomed itself does not need salvation. But I just need it to hold out for as long as it can, so that it can return to glory and serve a better purpose..
To this cause, I orchestrated the birth of Gojo Satoru, a beacon of light and the hope of humanity. In the wake of his birth, the balance that you so rudely disrupted was restored, and cursed spirits matured, growing stronger to level the gap created by the sorcerers."
Silence reigned as Kenjaku finished his statement and Sasuke descended into deep thoughts. If Gojo was really born to level the field, it meant that that white haired brat was really his natural counter. The one created specifically to deal with him..
"I could've let it all play out till the end and watch you die at the hands of your nemesis, but there's been a change of plans..
I can't have you running around disrupting my plans..."
After this, Kenjaku slowly arose to his feet, and stretched his waist lazily, before reaching out into his robes taking out a round object, an object that drew Sasuke's ire, and caused him to gasp in shock and fear for the first time..
The object was none other than a round eyeball with reddish circular rings that circled it's sclera and a dot at the center.
"That eyeball!! A Rinnegan?!"
Sasuke couldn't keep his calm at this moment, and he grabbed onto the tree he sat up against trying to rise to his feet in agitation.
"How did you get your hands on that?!!! Tell me!!"
His emotions were in turmoil. This was too great a revelation. The OG Sasuke's words to him were truth indeed. They were here.
"Oh this? Hahaha. It wouldn't matter in the end, Uchiha.."
Smiling, Kenjaku outstretched his arm and watched the eyeball levitate an inch above his palm.
Without hesitation, torrents of cursed energy began pouring into the eyeball, and slowly it began to revolve while glowing with an eerie purple light.
Even Kenjaku who seemed to be powering it up was not spared from a backlash. He coughed out torrents of blood and his eyes turned bloodshot, yet his smiled still remained and a moment later...
*BOOOOOOOOM!*
