Invincible Living A Lowkey Life

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: The Immortal's Table

The warm glow of the setting sun bathed the temple in a soft orange light as Chen Franz placed the roasted boars on the long stone table in the center of the temple courtyard.

Lim Kris sat beside her sister, Princess Chinye, who was still recovering from the shock of their reunion.

Despite the heaviness lingering in the air after the truth about the Water Clan's fall, a sense of peace settled over them, if only for the moment.

Chinye quietly gazed around the temple, her eyes wide with silent awe. The ancient phoenix statues lining the edges of the courtyard glowed faintly, the divine energy palpable in every corner.

But what truly caught her attention was not the temple's structure—it was the small things that left her stunned.

Chinye (softly, staring at the table):

"Kris… is this plate glowing?"

Lim Kris glanced down, smirking faintly as she grabbed her cup.

Lim Kris (grinning):

"Oh, that's nothing. Even the spoons and forks are immortal artifacts here."

Chinye's hand hovered over the silverware, hesitant to touch it.

Chinye (in disbelief):

"You're telling me… this plate is an immortal artifact?"

Lim Kris laughed.

Lim Kris:

"You should see the broom. It sweeps by itself!"

Chen Franz, overhearing their conversation, chuckled softly as he poured tea into Chinye's cup.

Chen Franz (calmly):

"Don't let it bother you. You're welcome to use whatever you like while you're here."

Chinye held the cup carefully, feeling the warmth of the tea seep into her hands. She stared at Chen Franz curiously.

Chinye (softly to Lim Kris):

"Just who is this man…?"

Lim Kris leaned closer, smirking.

Lim Kris (whispering):

"I thought he was just some recluse who lived in the mountains. Turns out, he's probably the strongest person in the world."

Chen Franz gave her a sideways glance.

Chen Franz:

"I can hear you."

Lim Kris grinned, taking a bite of roasted meat.

Lim Kris:

"Well, it's true, isn't it?"

Chinye shook her head softly, but a faint smile touched her lips for the first time since arriving.

After dinner, Lim Kris and Chinye walked along the temple's outer garden, the immortal plants glowing faintly in the moonlight.

Chinye's eyes wandered across the temple grounds, still in disbelief at the sacred energy surrounding her.

Suddenly, Lim Kris stopped, turning to face Chinye.

Lim Kris (smirking):

"Oh, I forgot to mention… guess how strong I am now?"

Chinye raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms.

Chinye (teasing):

"I don't know… Level 20? You were Level 15 when I last saw you, and that wasn't long ago."

Lim Kris grinned mischievously and raised her palm, summoning a sphere of water. The energy radiating from it crackled in the air, causing the grass beneath them to sway.

The air thickened as Lim Kris's aura flared, her cultivation level exposing itself.

Lim Kris:

"Level 45."

Chinye's eyes widened in disbelief, taking a step back.

Chinye (staring in shock):

"Level 45?! That's impossible! It's only been a few weeks since you disappeared! How?"

Lim Kris laughed softly, lowering her hand as the energy dissipated.

Lim Kris (grinning):

"All thanks to Master Franz."

Chinye's gaze flickered toward the temple, where Chen Franz sat silently in meditation.

Chinye (softly):

"…He did this?"

Lim Kris nodded confidently.

Lim Kris:

"The day I stumbled onto Dead Mountain, I was half-dead. Master Franz healed me instantly. Ever since then, he's been training me… and somehow, my power just keeps growing."

Chinye's eyes narrowed thoughtfully.

Chinye (seriously):

"There's no way a normal person can raise someone's cultivation by that much in such a short time."

Lim Kris smirked.

Lim Kris:

"Who said he's normal? I'm telling you, Sister Master Franz is beyond anything I've ever seen."

Chinye remained silent, her gaze softening as she placed a hand on Lim Kris's shoulder.

Chinye (softly):

"I'm proud of you, Kris. But… be careful. Power like this attracts attention."

Lim Kris's expression grew serious, nodding.

Lim Kris:

"I know. But I'm not hiding anymore. The Fire Clan took everything from us… I won't let them take anything else."

Chinye smiled faintly.

Chinye:

"Then I'll stand by you. We'll grow stronger together."

Lim Kris squeezed her sister's hand as they stood beneath the stars, the soft glow of the temple enveloping them both.
