In the Academy as Sukuna

Chapter 73: Two Devastated Lives

Goddamn this chapter is dark, I had to take breaks while writing it.

So, here are the warnings: Kidnapping, a concentration camp (maybe), rape, no concept of morality.

Read at your own risk… I guess.

"Despair leads to hate; hate leads to demise."

.

(The Demon Realm, Main Base of the Revolt, Northern Forests...)

The forest was illuminated in moonlight which fell onto the hundreds of camps and tents of the revolters scattered around the forest for miles, hidden in the shadows and blending in with the vegetation.

Right in the middle of the forest, under the cover of an artificially-made canopy, a huge campfire was lit, around which were sitting many of the leaders of the upcoming revolt, discussing their plans while having dinner.

"That's where they're kept prisoner!" The discussion continued.

The members of the group, which was now called the Fall of Satan, sat behind the leaders, around the campfire.

Very rightly named, its main aim was to kill the ruler of demons, the 'Lucifer' of this world, and end his painful empire.

The strength of the Fall, at this time, was not enough to achieve its objective. However, every day, many joined their cause.

Some whose family was abducted into slavery, some who were kicked out from their hometown because of the gates, some whose wives and daughters were taken by nobles and princes to be made into mindless toys.

The growing hate of the citizens of the demon realm fueled the fire of mutiny, which had finally become strong enough to start engulfing the world in its fury.

Every single demon there was hurt, their minds filled with only thoughts of revenge.

Except for one.

There was an unexplainable existence in the midst of these people, a person which had caught the interest of every single demon there.

The moment they found out that he was human, his life flashed before his eyes. But, they were extremely accepting, they understood him, they treated him like their own.

Johan Wolff.

He had gone through a multitude of emotions in the past few weeks. The beings that he had vowed to kill treated him better than most of his own kin would, and this fact played with him so much that he didn't know what to do... which goal to pursue.

Sometimes, he would sit on top of trees for hours, staring out into the sky lifelessly, the faces of his friends—Anny, Alexia, and Ryogaku—popping up in his mind from time to time.

"Anny..."

Sometimes, he would talk to the clouds as if they were his friends, his stomach churning at the thought of what he did to Alexia.

"...what have I been fighting for?"

His words would go unheard. Every day he asked questions, only to be met with silence.

Unbeknownst to him, a certain person would be watching him through the trees, staring at him for hours just like he did at the sky.

Casca.

Her dark skin would glisten in the sunlight, her piercing black eyes softening every time they met the figure of Johan.

It was as if she forgets all the pain she had gone through when she sees him.

A human in the demon realm... Johan was the person most at risk in the whole of Fall. If he was caught, he would be made into either a slave, a mindless doll, or a decoration.

Her gaze, however, was never returned, and she would be left staring at the boy for hours until he decided to finally come down.

That day, Johan was sitting in a tent next to the area of the meeting, staring at the campfire and the orderly discussion between the leaders.

"Barbatos should be first!" A loud shout rang out, echoing in the forest.

Johan, however, was lost in his own thoughts.

His mind wandered places, he was starting to not hate demons, and the thought of that sent a chill down his spine.

Inside him flowed demonic energy, or Qi, as they called it. He had become one of his enemies, and... this fact was something he couldn't digest.

He slightly jumped as he felt a tap on his shoulder, his eyes drifting to his right, where stood Casca, a small smile on her face as she placed a plate made of leaves in front of him.

She had come from the meeting, the heat from the campfire making her sweat. Beads of sweat rolled down her toned abs, which were exposed due to her minimal clothing.

"You tryna starve?" She said, standing there for a moment before hesitantly taking a seat beside him. "Have dinner."

Johan looked at her for a moment, before turning back to the campfire, staring at it while slowly taking a bite, the bland taste not impressing him.

"Then it's decided! We shall attack Barbatos. Start the preparations!" Another shout made its way to the peaceful duo, whose minds were all but peaceful.

Casca was lost sitting next to him, staring at him eating the food, but couldn't speak up.

Her hands curled up into fists as she saw Johan staring at the campfire. What could a mere human have gone through to look like this?

She had always hated the weakness of humans, their inability to resist conditions forced on to them, just like her own family did to her… she hated the noble families with all her heart.

But Johan was… different. He was just a human, so fragile yet so… resilient. He made her feel things she thought she had disconnected herself from many years ago, on the day

Johan, on the other hand, didn't care about her presence at all, which was because his goal was becoming clearer to him. He needed just another push... just another push to show him his true objective that Fate had decided for him.

No matter how cruel it may be...

(Barbatos, The Southern Towns…)

Sukuna walked, following the group which was led by a few guards. His head was lowered, just like the other prisoners, but he was stealthily looking around, taking in the layout of the place, and making a map in his mind.

The group was walking, some of the people already tired, their breathing heavy as they struggled to continue, especially the old ones.

Sukuna's eyes, however, suddenly widened. He stumbled, almost falling to the floor, but managed to regain balance before that happened.

His situation turned a few heads, but thankfully, the guards didn't notice.

He had abruptly lost control of his leg. It was as if his leg wasn't even part of his body. This was a sensation he had never felt before.

The reason for this was that his soul was so tiny that it had become almost impossible for him to control all of his body at once while also doing intense mental work.

He blinked a few times, trying to get back control as he walked slowly beside Angelo, who was trembling slightly, his eyes darting around the dark hallway.

Suddenly, a loud thud, or one that seemed loud in the unbearable silence, rang out, echoing in the confines of the concrete walls.

The group diverged, creating a circular space around a person.

He was an old man, his body seeming like a pile of bones being pulled by strings. He had fallen to the floor, panting in exertion as he struggled to even breathe. It was clear that he was at his limit.

Without wasting a second, a guard at the back walked up, pushing through the group to reach the old man, grabbing him by the ankle and dragging him in another direction.

The poor man had no energy to even scream, and could only accept his fate.

To the other guards, this was an everyday happening. They pushed the shocked and frightened people forward, punching some in the abdomen, urging them to continue walking, and so they did.

No one knew what would happen to that old man, their eyes staring at the retreating figure of the guard for a moment before they continued.

Angelo, however, couldn't take his eyes off the figure fading out of his sight. He was tempted to go follow them, as if something was calling him, but he refrained from doing so.

In around a minute, they finally reached the place they had been walking to for so long—an open field.

'Open' might be inaccurate, because the whole field was bordered by huge walls that blocked view of what was outside.

However, there was no ceiling, which allowed the bright rays of the sun to enter the place, momentarily blinding all prisoners that came out from the building which led to the cells.

The people who had already been here started going to their allotted buildings, their faces already twisting with agony just thinking of their coming days.

The newcomers were left standing alone in the field under the intense gaze of the supervisor, their bodies involuntarily closing in together in hope for safety. There were around 45 such newcomers.

"Females on the right, males on the left!" A shout echoed in the field. This was the supervisor of the 16th floor, the floor from which these prisoners had come out of.

Under his watchful gaze, the people quickly segregated according to sex, waddling to their positions on the sides of the field.

The supervisor first went to the females' side, observing each one of them intensely, making them shift uncomfortably.

His gaze stopped at a certain woman, whose body looked more well-built compared to others. With swift movements, he grabbed her hair and pulled her aside, making her groan in pain.

He continued for the other women too, his gaze stopping on another woman, who also looked more burly and strong than others. He pulled her out in the same way.

He then moved to the males' group, pulling out the people he saw strong and putting them into a separate group.

After he was finished, the 'strong' people he had picked out, including Sukuna, were pushed out through a gate on the walls of the field, which closed as soon as they passed, leaving the remaining people standing in the field, their eyes darting around in fear.

"Follow me!" Another shout rang out in the field, the supervisor turning and starting to walk.

The group exchanged glances, slowly following the supervisor, their hands slightly trembling in fear.

Angelo walked in the middle of the group, his eyes darting around the whole place. He accidentally made eye contact with a guard, his eyes going to the floor again as if on instinct.

The supervisor stopped in front of a large building, which seemed to be covered fully in metal, its presence itself uncanny. It didn't look scary, but more like… weird.

The supervisor, with a large smirk, pushed open the doors. The group was pushed inside by a few guards, stumbling inside and trying to regain their balance.

However, their eyes suddenly widened in shock, their bodies freezing at the spot they were standing in.

The room was filled with the naked bodies of both men and women alike, the frightening sight making everyone feel so unbearably helpless that they felt their legs go weak.

Some women were tied up on the floor, some chained up to the wall, all being devoured by men on top of them, some resisting and some not.

The men, too, were in no better condition. They were forced to forget all about their wives and lovers to continuously and endlessly copulate with unknown women just to make more children for the demons to exploit.

Every time they stopped their movements, they would be given a 'prize.' It may be a simple whip strike, or red-hot metal on their skin.

A multitude of sounds echoed in the room—moans of pleasure, groans of pain, screams of resistance, and cries begging to stop.

One thing was clear—this was an unescapable hell for all unfortunate enough to be here.

This nauseating sight affected everyone who entered. Everyone felt their knees go weak. Some even threw up on the side.

But the most distraught, without doubt, was Angelo, his gaze fixed at the corner of the room.

He suddenly felt an arm wrap around his shoulders, but his senses were too numbed to react. It was the supervisor.

"I told you, Angelo," he whispered, his voice seemed so demonic, his tone mocking. "I'd show you something very special."

Dina, his to-be wife, was stuck to something similar to a wooden post at her waist. Tear marks were clearly visible on her cheeks. Her body had gone fully limp, trembling in what looked like a mix of pain and exertion.

Blood, mixed with a thick, white liquid, flowed down her thighs, the sensation making her toes curl in disgust.

Her fingers twitched against the ropes. Only one word echoed in her mind: 'Angelo.' Even in the midst of this torment, she held onto this word as her lifeline, hoping that he would come to save her.

As Angelo's eyes locked on to Dina's limp body, his heart thumped in his chest, threatening to burst out. Tears formed in his eyes, blurring his vision. His knees felt weak.

'I'll always be with you.' Her words played out in his mind, the voice as sweet as honey ringing out as she stood in a grassy field. 'And I'll always protect you.' He remembered his promise, and now she was there, trembling and broken like a toy. He… he had failed her.

"DINA!" A scream erupted from his throat, a guttural cry breaking with emotion as tears started to fall down his cheeks.

He tried to run… to go to her, but it was like he was held in place by an immovable force—the hand on his shoulder—as if the ropes holding his beloved were binding him too.

His hand reached out towards her, trembling as it tried to grasp at nothing. He wanted to fight, he wanted to save her, but all he could do was watch.

His movements slowed down, his cry falling on deaf ears as Dina had already lost consciousness. His head slowly turned to the right, meeting the face of the supervisor, staring at him with a smirk on his face.

"Your lovely wife..." He started mockingly, leaning in closer, tightening his grip on Angelo's shoulder, causing a little blood to ooze out where his fingers dug in. "...will bear children until she dies, and has already been impregnated with the first." His smirk only widened as Angelo's expression turned more painful. "Maybe it'll be twins?"

These words hit Angelo like a cold dagger, his knees giving as he fell to the floor with the thud, which drowned in the moans and groans echoing in the room.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure..." The supervisor continued, turning around and starting to walk away. "...to show you the kids."

Angelo was left sobbing on the ground, blood trickling down his shoulder, painting his clothes a deep red.
