I want to be a Necromancer!

Chapter 6: Brave enough to fight and kill

They tried to catch me, but I was faster, losing myself in the woods.

Nightfall was approaching, and the surroundings were growing darker. I began to feel fear as I walked through the woods. I don't know how far I've gone, all I can see is trees. Then after a while I saw blood on a rock—it looked fresh, and I strongly suspected it was my father's. I quickly scanned the area, searching for more signs to lead me to him.

"Father?" I called softly as I searched. I didn't want to raise my voice too much, fearing I might attract monsters.

As I walked, I heard voices—goblin voices. Peering through the thick foliage, I spotted a goblin village. Despite their intelligence, goblins were still considered monsters.

"KAKA muYA gar!" one of them shouted.

From behind a large rock, I counted three goblins in the village. Goblins typically populated around 20-100 in a village, and they were notoriously aggressive toward humans.

"DEki LOPA ba!" another goblin replied, their eyes darting around.looks like they're in a soft of argument

Then, I heard a groan, a human voice, muffled and in pain.

I squinted and saw a cage next to a makeshift hut. Inside was my father—motionless—along with another man and a girl about my age.

A goblin approached the cage, grinning maliciously, saying, "HARA HARA ge SA!"

As i noticed that only three goblins were around the village, others were probably out hunting, so this was a good chance to strike. With determination, I grabbed a bamboo forged into a spear, preparing to fight.

While the two goblins were distracted, I rushed at the one facing the cage. It reacted quickly, dodging my strike, but I managed to graze it, drawing blood.

I didn't know much about weapons, but my father had taught me how to use a sword while growing up. A spear would do—I had to make it count.

Before the goblin could call for help, I lunged again. My spear struck its neck, but the wound was shallow.

Taken aback the goblin clutched its neck as blood spilled over,In its anger, it let out a scream, alerting the other two goblins in the village.

"GWAAAAAAAA!"

The little girl in the cage called out to me, urging me to open it. It was only secured with a knotted rope. The older man, around my father's age, shouted at me to hurry and cut the knot.

I rushed over and used my spear to slice through the rope.

"Sir, please wake up!" the girl pleaded as she shook my father.

Finally, I cut the knot, and the cage door swung open.

The two goblins who came for rescue charged at me unnoticed, their spears aimed. I ducked and dodged, narrowly avoiding their strikes.

The man who had been imprisoned with my father quickly grabbed a weapon, drawing the attention of the two goblin. Fully ignoring me…

But the wounded goblin on the other hand lunged at me recklessly.

It tried to claw me with its sharp nails, but I was quick, then it charged again recklessly. Then I spotted an opening—without hesitation, I stabbed the goblin in the stomach piercing trough it's back. The goblin grunted in pain before collapsing, then died.

Meanwhile, the man managed to take down the other two goblins—one decapitated, the other stabbed through the chest.

I quickly ran to my father, who was now awake, thanks to the little girl who's trying to wake him. My father was clutching his stomach, and I saw a large wound, most likely caused by a spear.

"Azrael, why are you here? It's too dangerous," my father said, his voice strained but filled with concern for me.

"Father, we're getting out of here. We're going home to Mother," I said, hugging him tightly, relief flooding through me that he was alive, despite his injuries.

He winced slightly, and I pulled back to look at him, my heart racing. "You're hurt. We need to stop the bleeding."

"I'll be fine. We need to focus on getting out of this place first," he insisted, his eyes scanning our surroundings for any sign of danger.

I nodded, knowing that the urgency of our situation outweighed the pain he was in. "We need to hurry before more goblins come back."

While my father struggled to stand as I help him to get out of the cage. The man who had been with us hurried over, with a sense of urgency written all over his face. "The other goblins are coming back! We need to move quickly—let's escape through the back of the village! We can't fight them head-on; they have a chief who ambushed us earlier!"

"Wait, grab me a weapon! I can still fight!" my father insisted.

The man quickly handed him a spear, and we took off running, adrenaline fueling our escape.

And we had just gotten some distance from the village when a loud, deep scream echoed from the goblin village, sending chills down my spine.

"That's the Goblin Chief! Hurry before they find us! The Goblin Chief is too strong for us to fight!" the man urged, leading the way. "This place seems familiar; there's a watchtower this way, but it's a little far. "Hurry up and follow me!"

Running***

As we run, I heard a loud thud behind us—something massive was charging straight at us.

"Dodge!" the man shouted.

We scattered in panic. My father and I hit the ground hard as we rolled out of the way.

"It's the Goblin Chief! Hurry and leave, just go straight ahead and you'll reach the watchtower you can call for help there—I'll try to hold him off!" the man said.

The Goblin Chief roared, its guttural cry shaking the air. "GWAAAAH!" It's massive thrice the size of a fully adult male human, with bulging muscles rippling under its rough, green skin. In one motion, it grabbed a massive rock and hurled it at the man.

He barely dodged, rolling out of the way just in time. Then he charged at the Chief, aiming his spear at its stomach. But despite its size, the Chief was surprisingly quick, dodging the strike with ease.

In a blink, the Goblin Chief countered with a punch, sending the man flying into a tree.

"Ughhh..." the man groaned, clearly hurt.

I glanced at my dad—he couldn't stand. Before I knew it, three goblins were coming right for me.

I grabbed my spear, ready to fight.

One goblin rushed at me, swinging its claws. I dodged and saw an opening, but just as I went for a stab, my gut told me something was off. I quickly ducked, barely avoiding another goblin jumping at me from behind.

Crap, they're coming at me together!

One goblin charged again. I used my spear to keep it at bay, stabbing it in the arm. "WAAAAAAH!" I yelled as I dragged the goblin, slamming it against a tree. While it struggled, I kicked it in the stomach and pulled my spear back.

Before I could catch my breath, another goblin pounced on me from behind, and a sharp pain tore through my back. I reacted by kicking it in the face, causing it to stumble back. The goblin had clawed me, and it stung like hell, as if knives had dug through my skin. Blood flowed as I clutched my back in pain. I turned around just in time to saw the one I slammed on the tree recklessly charging at me, screaming, "Kyeeek!"

Raging in pain, I shouted, "Blunder, you fucker!" and speared it straight through the chest. The goblin screamed in agony "KYAAAAK EEEK", swaying its arms and feet, struggling against my spear as its strength faded. Slowly, it lost consciousness and died.

One down, two left.

The last two goblins was flustered from what happened, but then they both rushed me from different sides. I couldn't dodge the both of them...

"WAAAAH!" My dad let out a war cry as he suddenly appeared, slashing one of the goblins on my left side, cutting its body in half and killing it instantly. But he fell to his knees right after, groaning in pain.

The last goblin kept charging. I barely dodged it, and as soon as it hit the ground, I quickly stabbed it from behind. It screamed in pain "KYEEEEK!", struggling to break free, but slowly lost consciousness and died.

I stood there, gasping for breath. Blood ran down my back, but then, out of nowhere, a strange, dizzy feeling hit me, like something was sucking the life out of me.

It was the same feeling back then…

… A screen pop right in front of me….

it was the screen that appeared six years ago!
