Chapter 448: 448 The World of DC, The Menace of Batman, Clayface's Miserable Fate and Night Visit to Poison Ivy...
The dolls were free to leave at times like this, so they did: Esdeath, Artoria, Harley, Bocchi, and Nokotan.
Makima chained Albedo to prevent her from attacking Emma, "If you don't get used to it, you'll end up suffering more because of it."
"Shut up and free me!"
"..." Wednesday observed the new doll with an expressionless gaze.
Thanks to Wednesday's return and her skill with magic, the girls no longer needed to keep quiet; she could create a space where their voices wouldn't be heard by anyone outside.
Rebecca watched everything that had happened with disdain. She didn't care if Allen had women, but it bothered her that she couldn't be with him.
...
From morning until the entire night, Allen stayed with Emma, spending a whole day doing some lovers' activities, from eating together to watching a movie on the couch. Of course, there was more intimacy at night.
Allen stayed with Emma until the following morning and then returned to his house. Gwen quickly spread the news in a private group she had with the other women from the Chat. It wasn't a surprise for the girls to hear about what had happened with Allen and Emma Frost, but there was a strange feeling that any of them could be next.
Some women were nervous, others were expectant...
...
(DC World)
A door opened in an alley, and Allen stepped into DC once again. It had been a while since he had been here, and he felt a bit nostalgic. It was already nighttime, which meant the sirens of patrols and ambulances would rise in the city with the highest crime rate: Gotham City.
Allen came to Gotham with three objectives. The first was to visit Batgirl, whose secret identity is Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Commissioner James Gordon. The second was to go to Arkham to see how Ivy was doing. It was curious how Poison Ivy ended up as Allen's official replacement as the director of Arkham Asylum, the "psychiatric hospital" that seemed more like a high-security prison.
"AAAHHHH!" a man's scream interrupted Allen's thoughts.
'Not even a minute has passed, and I already hear screams of terror. I expected nothing less from DC, specifically Gotham.'
Allen stepped out of the alley onto a street and looked in the direction of several men's screams. A few people were watching, but no one dared to approach. In this crime-ridden city with lunatics everywhere, no one was helping. It was one of the ways people ensured they wouldn't be next.
It was no surprise. Gotham wasn't just famous for having the highest crime rate, but also for harboring the most terrifying, twisted, cruel, and bloodthirsty villains and criminals.
"Ahh, let me go!"
Another man's desperate cry caused Allen to narrow his eyes.
Allen disappeared, and upon appearing on the scene, Allen realized that the source of the screams was justified.
"I see..."
Bruce Wayne is the secret identity of the Dark Knight, Batman. A smart, famous, and wealthy man with multiple foundations aimed at helping others, and a great sense of justice, he dons a bat-themed suit at night to fight crime.
"No!"
Batman kicked a criminal, sending him flying into a trash container.
"Damned bat!"
One of them pulled out a gun, but Batman threw a "Batarang" (a bat-shaped shuriken) that knocked the gun away. The man grabbed his hand before receiving a punch that shattered his jaw. Another man attacked Batman with a metal rod, but he dodged it, grabbed the man's arm, and twisted it until it broke.
"Ahhh!"
Allen watched this from atop a building with a calm expression. He already knew Batman's personality. He was someone who, although he didn't kill criminals, caused injuries, sometimes serious ones, intending for the pain and slow recovery to make them reflect on their actions.
Batman lifted a man by the neck and reached into his pocket to pull out a brick-sized package, neatly wrapped.
"Don't do this! If I don't take this to the boss, they'll kill me!"
"Don't worry, just tell me where your boss is..."
The man looked at him terrified. He was just a human without powers aside from his gadgets; some strange, others highly technological, and yet, he managed to be feared by all the criminals in the city.
"It's the Penguin..."
Batman knocked the man unconscious and left a small device on the ground that sent a signal to Commissioner Gordon to come collect the trash.
Batman pulled out his grappling gun and aimed it at the sky to ascend. Once up, he saw Allen without surprise, as if he had known of his existence all along.
"Hello, Batman..."
"..."
The relationship between Allen and Batman was more cordial than friendly. Essentially, Batman kept his guard up against almost everyone, including his friends, let alone Allen, who was still a bit of a mystery; whether he was a righteous man or not.
Allen wasn't surprised by Batman's cold reception, considering his last stream ended with him torturing Morlun in front of everyone.
Batman squinted his eyes before leaping in a direction, seemingly wanting Allen to follow him.
Wednesday – That man could have kryptonite in his armor, even though he considers Superman a friend. It's unwise to follow him...
Albedo – You're exaggerating, both in power and intelligence. Allen-sama is superior to anyone.
Artoria – What will you do?
'Well, being Batman, he won't waste my time...'
Allen didn't want to have a bad relationship with Batman. Despite his cold personality, Batman remained an essential part of the world, a beloved mentor to Barbara, and Allen himself liked the character of Batman, even before meeting him in person. If possible, he wanted to avoid a situation where he would have to face him, and depending on the outcome, kill him.
Batman called his Batmobile, the iconic vehicle that drove itself and got in. He wasn't concerned that Allen wouldn't be able to follow him, and sure enough, Allen started flying using Ki and followed the Batmobile.
...
"This place..."
Batman led him in a certain direction, making Allen open his eyes, as it was the direction where Barbara and her father, James Gordon, lived. Batman parked and used his grappling gun again to climb up the building opposite Barbara and her father's house.
Allen landed next to Batman and looked at a window on the fourth floor, where Barbara was celebrating her father's birthday. Batman remained silent, but his intention was clear. This city, this world, was theirs, and if Allen wanted to harm it, Batman would stop him.
"A subtle way to threaten people, but I appreciate it..."
Allen smiled. If Batman considered him a true enemy, he wouldn't do something like this. Revealing your intentions to the enemy was a mistake. Even now, Batman still has respect for Allen and decides to confront him directly.
Allen diverted his gaze from Barbara, who was smiling at the moment. He took out his phone and sent her a message.
Barbara pulled out her phone upon receiving the message as the custom notification tone for Allen sounded, and she blinked her eyes as she read the contents.
Allen – Barbara, I'm sorry I forgot your father's birthday. I'm sending you a gift.
Barbara – You don't have to do that! I was the one who didn't want to bother you at this moment!
Barbara knew the situation Allen went through with Morlun and didn't think it was appropriate to bring him to meet her father just yet.
Barbara heard another notification sound and opened the screen to find a package in her inbox. Viewers didn't have inventories, but they could send physical objects to one another, although the system supervised it to make sure nothing strange from another world crossed over.
Barbara took what appeared to be a photo frame. At first, she didn't know what it was, but there was a note from Allen.
Barbara handed it to her father, who was confused.
"Dad, this is a gift from... a friend," Barbara blushed, "His name is Allen. I've already told you about him."
"Allen?"
The commissioner got nervous. He wasn't the type of man to tell his daughter who to date or fall in love with, but he recalled that his daughter had been kissed in public by a villain. That should have been something horrible that would make her hate him, yet the image of her not seeming to mind the kiss still lingered in his mind. However, his daughter later told him that he wasn't a real villain and was only acting.
James took a deep breath. Could this mysterious guy be his future son-in-law? No! Barbara was a good girl. She even became Batgirl behind his back and waited a long time before confessing her secret. She wouldn't date someone like that.
"Dad?"
Barbara knew her father well and could see his thoughts. She could only smile bitterly, hoping that Allen's image would improve before she formally introduced him.
"I'm fine, dear. And this guy, Allen... what did he send me?"
James refused to accept the truth, even though the "fake villain" and Barbara's "friend" had the same name.
"It's a photo frame... and a note."
– Mr. Gordon, I'm sorry. I don't know if it's appropriate to give a gift when we don't know each other, but I hope you and your daughter like it. Just place a photo, and you'll be surprised. –
James could sense the cordiality in the sender's words and convinced himself that it couldn't be the arrogant bastard who had embraced Supergirl and Batgirl in front of everyone and kissed them.
Barbara, feeling uncomfortable, brought a photo of her late mother. The commissioner sighed as he gently caressed the picture of Barbara Eileen Gordon, Barbara's mother, who had passed away years ago.
Gordon smiled and placed the photo in the frame, which was a beautiful mahogany one. However, both father and daughter's eyes widened when the image seemed to come to life before their eyes.
"But how?"
James Gordon couldn't stop the tears from welling up in his eyes upon seeing this. Barbara smiled as she remembered the living portraits from the world of Harry Potter. Allen must have made his own version or perhaps brought one from that world. It was different from a simple video; a person could feel the presence of the individual in the portrait, almost as if their spirit was there. But that was the charm of magic.
Batman relaxed a little, lowering his guard as he observed what Allen had done. At least he wasn't a monster to the people he knew.
"I have no right to tell you how to act in other worlds, so I'll maintain a cordial relationship as long as you respect my boundaries in this world..."
"Finally decided to speak?" Allen shrugged, "I will, but don't blame me for defending myself. After all, Amanda Waller seems to have assembled a death squad to kill me."
"..." Batman remained silent.
...
After settling the issue, Batman decided to take Allen out to eat, not as Batman, but as Bruce Wayne. The two went to a luxury restaurant. Everyone knew the magnate Bruce Wayne, but the young man accompanying him was someone no one had seen before. They both sat at a table by the terrace.
Allen was dressed entirely in a black suit, including his shirt, adorned with a red tie.
Bruce Wayne wore a gray suit with a blue tie. Both attracted attention for being handsome men, yet they kept their distance since it was a luxury restaurant.
Allen gazed out the window. Gotham had a charm of its own if you managed to ignore the fact that, in part of this city, murders were being committed. Batman was a man after all; he couldn't protect everything and everyone.
...
After dinner, Batman curiously asked about Allen's plans.
"I'm going to another world to try to improve my image..."
"Try?"
Allen took a sip from his wine glass, his current dark charm and elegant movements stole the sigh of many ladies in the restaurant, then tilted his head and looked at his reflection in the glass. "I don't want to lie... my mind and heart are at peace. I don't feel I need to hide it. I have no intention of pretending who I am not in front of the camera... I'll never be a monster, but maybe I'm not suitable to bear the banner of the 'savior' everyone needs."
"I see... in a way, that reassures me..."
"Bruce?"
"A noble heart suffers easily for others. I don't kill people, but partly because I know that if I do, something very bad will come from within me... yet, there are times I've thought about just pulling the trigger when I see what those monsters have done..."
"That's being human, Bruce." Allen stared out the window while wondering if some part of his view of the world had strayed from that of an ordinary human being.
Would Allen, one day, see a planet or world like Beerus and wonder whether he should destroy it or not?
Boom
An explosion snapped both men from their thoughts.
...
The Gotham subway was one of the most popular forms of transportation despite its poor condition, such as scratched windows, painted walls, and the usual dirt. This was mainly due to vandalism.
At one of the elevated subway stations, disaster struck. A man staggered while clutching a railing. He had his chest exposed, revealing a glowing blue crystal.
"IT'S HER, SHE TRICKED US! YOU HAVE TO HELP US!"
The man screamed, but people didn't help him. They were scared by his crazy behavior. The train was approaching the station.
"AHH! IT'S COMING!" the man yelled.
The crystal in his chest turned red, and then, with an explosion, it enveloped the entire area. People screamed and ran, and there were injuries everywhere.
"Too... late..."
A weak voice was heard amid the chaos. Immediately, a swamp-like substance began spreading uncontrollably in all directions, as if it were a flood. Those who couldn't escape were swallowed by the mud, along with the subway, which soon floated into the air as a mud hill with a face emerged.
Batman and Allen arrived at the scene.
"Clayface!"
Batman looked skeptically at the gigantic monster that one of his villains had become. Allen squinted his eyes. Clayface was among the villains that Amanda Waller had taken.
"We must stop him!"
"Should we?" Allen smiled with amusement. "Didn't you just tell me to behave in your world?"
"This is your responsibility, Director Walker..."
Allen shrugged and got out of the vehicle. "Well, well, well... first, we should get those people out..."
Allen looked at the mud monster the size of a building, with the subway and people trapped inside, screaming.
'I don't know what they did to you, but you chose this fate...'
Allen disappeared...
...
A woman was barely hanging onto a metal bar, as were several others, while the subway car was vertical. Allen appeared inside a wagon.
"Ahh!" The woman screamed upon seeing someone materialize out of nowhere.
"Relax..." Allen gave the woman a tap and put her in his inventory. He then moved to an elderly man who was falling from above. He touched him in midair and placed him in his inventory.
There was an unconscious man at the back of the wagon. Allen appeared above him and placed him in his inventory. Seeing that only three people were left in the car, Allen rushed.
He repeated the process in the other wagons. A total of 43 people were placed in his inventory in less than twenty seconds. Sensing that there were still people trapped inside Clayface's body, Allen couldn't afford to waste time, so he raised his arm, still inside the subway, and an energy sphere began to form. It had been a while since Allen had used Ki, and he honestly missed that feeling.
A blast of energy shot into the sky, disintegrating Clayface's head. Allen made sure not to hit any of the people.
As expected, Clayface didn't die, and his body began to regenerate. However, Allen noticed a shiny object. In the blink of an eye, he moved to it, grabbed it, and destroyed the connection Clayface had with it.
"NOOOOO! I JUST WANTED MY BEAUTIFUL FACE BACK..."
Allen shook his head. He had tried to give them a chance to be decent people, but they escaped from Arkham. And what was the result?
Clayface slowly melted, never to awaken again. The people still trapped in his body emerged from the mud. Allen had moved quickly to finish off the giant version of Clayface, and thanks to that, no one died, although they would need therapy to get over this. Allen took advantage of the situation and released the people from his inventory and they dazedly helped the people covered in mud.
'System, what is this?'
[High-density magical origin crystals – These are common in fantasy worlds and are used as power sources... it doesn't belong to the DC world.]
Makima – Don't tell me that Amanda Waller also found a way to travel to another world.
Wednesday – I always thought she was crazy, but not to this extent. She really experimented on one of her subordinates... interesting...
Allen felt annoyed. He didn't want to deal with Amanda, so he thought about passing the problem onto Batman.
Allen smiled and appeared next to Batman, then threw him the object.
"What is this?"
Batman looked at the object with intrigue, but Allen mocked him.
"Sorry, it's your city. Figure it out."
"..."
"Alright, I'll give you a hint. This is what made Clayface giant, and it doesn't belong to this world..."
Batman's eyes widened, and he quickly left, probably to contact the Justice League. If Amanda Waller had the power to cross worlds, she would have gone from being a villain to a global threat.
However, Allen didn't want to get into that topic. His thoughts were focused on finding a place to take a vacation. If he was lucky, the next world wouldn't require him to fight anyone and would be peaceful...
(A/N: Will the author be kind and not take him to a chaotic world? 🗿)
...
Allen disappeared; soon he appeared in his mansion next to Arkham, where two girls were sleeping; one was Harleen, who, although she did not have a relationship with Allen, turned out to be a great help, so she gave him a room in this house that Allen hardly uses.
Allen moved down the hallway to a large room, as he opened the door. A beautiful redhead was lying on the bed with no clothes on; she was Poison Ivy, a woman with poisonous powers that would kill anyone who kissed her.
Allen walked over to the bed and climbed on it.
"This is a crime," said the beautiful woman as she glared resentfully at Allen; however, she did not move from her spot.
"This is my house, and this is my room; I'm going to sleep here... if there is a woman in my bed, she must be my wife or an intruder... either way, the result will be the same."
Allen looked mischievously at Ivy, whose original name was Pamela; she snorted with a haughty look, and Allen moved in to kiss her.
===
A/N: Ivy is the classic woman who claims to hate you but somehow ends up in your bed... wait, that doesn't happen to mortals. Tsk, Allen doesn't even have to seduce them anymore... they just go to his bed...
